Default best friend

I have a friend and we've been like sisters for over a decade. she asked about my dress shopping and i told her my mother and i are going on feb.9th
she wants to come. i said of course i would love that. than she calls to tell me she might be an hour late... late to bridal dress shopping? i told her it wouldnt even be worth her driving out there at that time and also i would be very insulted for her to be late rather than not come at all.
lord knows when she got married it was all i could do to be there for her but she cant swing one frickin saturday afternoon??? I am so bent out of shape about this one.

I say to go with your mom and enjoy the experience with her. Sometimes you have a better time with one person anyway, and it's something you and your mom can share a memory of.

I am sorry your friend is being rude though!

i would feel better at this point just to enjoy the day with my mother. I am very excited about it and sort of fantisise what her reaction will be to "the" dress...

Yeah, tell your friend that you would love her to come, but you understand if she can't make it that day. Being an hour late is just not going to work though. Remind her that you still love her and there will be other wedding stuff you two can do together ... just to keep things calm

Enjoy the shopping day with your Mom

I agree with everybody else. It is not the end of the world that she cannot come. She can be involved in other ways. Just enjoy the day with your mom.

When I had my friends with me looking for dresses, it was MUCH more stressful than when it was just me and my mom. I loved having them, but it was more special when it was just me and my mom. I hope you two have a great time shopping! I hope your friend understands that being an hour late is unacceptable, but that there will be lots of other stuff for her to do with you. Good luck finding a dress!
