2009 Holiday Exchange - Names have gone out!

I was thinking about this today and saw that we started the sign up last year in October.

So everyone up for another ornament/trinket exchange this year?

Of course we will use the same rules and requirements as before; in order to participate, members should post regularly, have been here at least 3 months and have at least 300 posts.

We will use Elfster.com again too.

So if we have enough interest we can start working on setting it up and getting people signed up. Then we can draw names the first week of November so everyone will have plenty of time to shop and get their package sent out.

I am interested! I was just wondering about this... Kohl's has already put out Christmas stuff, including lots of ornaments.

Last year I wasn't old enough (in posts, of course!) so this year I'm in!!!

I didn't participate last year either, but I'm certainly game this year! Of course somebody will have to explain and refresh the rules to the ornament exchange.

Basically we will set up a list on Elfster.com of everyone partisipating, then it will randomly assign you a buddy to send something to. Last year we did the cost at $10 before shipping.

Everyone will create (or update) a profile and a wish list to give your exchange buddy ideas what to get you and/or what not to get. Plus any special notes, like if you don't do ornaments and would prefer some other trinket or whatever your buddy might need to know about how you celebrate the holiday.

Once we draw names we will have like a month to shop and get your package shipped out to your buddy. Then as people start getting theirs (some will come early, some will be closer to the end of Decemember), we will start a thread to share pictures and who got you and thank them ... sometimes in the past a few people have started other threads to tease and drop hints as to who they had
