Hi everyone. My name is Megan. I'm getting married next august on block island in rhode island. My step sister is making my wedding cake (she is an amazing baker). I was thinking about having her put molds of seashells all over the cake. What do you think? I need ideas! thank you

I'm helping a friend with the wedding of her only child on the beach in South Padre in May. Another friend is making her cake, and she's using a fish bowl in a bit different way.
She's got one of those big round sort of flat fish bowls, and it's going between the large bottom and middle layer of the cake. She will use five dowels to hold the bowl from squishing the bottom layer, then she will place the second layer on a white plastic plate. Between the second layer and the top, a fish bowl like in that picture will be between the layers. She has already painted some fish and bubbles on the inside of the fish bowls! The cake will then be decorated with white chocolate shells and star fish being ordered online from some famous chocolate company. She plans to dust them with edible gold leaf, and add bubbles "floating up the cake" on the middle and top layers, which will also be touched with edible gold leaf. She is going to make sand out of sugar colored with food coloring and sprinkle it around the base of the cake. Can't wait to see it because the bowls are adorable and it sounds amazing. I can't figure out how she knew how to paint those little fish on in reverse since they are painted on the inside of the bowls. |

I love the cakes!!! We are doing a beach cake for our AHR in June. (We were married in Mexico in January) We have a close friend who will be doing the baking and I'm so excited!!! Heres the cake we had in Mexico, but the one for the AHR will be 3-4 tiers and I'm not sure exactly what I want it to look like. I made the chocolate starfish from molds at Michael's. I brought them ALL the way from Colorado to put on our cake
