That is the best part, actually. The results are awesome, sure, but the time dedicated to being alone with your thoughts and knowing you're doing something for yourself is so energizing and rewarding. So my sweet tooth led me to a bag of Jelly Bellys. You can have 35 of those suckers for 140 calories. So that's awesome. What's not awesome is when, even with the best screening process, you accidentally let one of the buttered popcorn flavored ones get in your mouth. Blech.Exercise today - I did a 20 minute yoga video this morning, in the hopes of stretching out my lower back. I don't know what's going on with that. And then I walked for an hour this afternoon. I may or may not take my day off tomorrow. I've felt pretty zonked lately. Food today, I had a mini wrap sandwich with a piece of reduced fat pepper jack and some turkey with dijon mustard. And with it I had a plain baked potato. Dinner was a Meditteranean pasta from Healthy Choice. It was ok, but for 360 calories I think I can find something more satisfying. ![]() |

Yeah Brenda! Welcome to Gwen's Mission. I say that sometimes to people and get the strangest looks. hehe They're like, "Who the heck is Gwen???"
Gwen, I hope your back feel better soon. My foot is awful. I don't think it was my sneakers, I think this has to be related to dropping the weight on my foot. I probably just overdid it. Strange that I ran on it for a week, went to Zumba twice and danced in heels Saturday and then it started bothering me. I don't know, but for now I'm limping around in more pain than I was from the weight so I guess I'll skip the running for now. I can still use the seated weight machines - at least that's something.

Well I taught step yesterday, then ab and back. Then I stopped at the Y on the way home... I forgot my I-Pod so I only made it about 20 minutes on the eliptical, but something is better then nothing. I ate good all day, I stayed on my points (weight watchers). I did WW a few years ago and know all my foods by heart, so I think i will just keep using their point system and try and incorporate some more healthy choices.

Oh, food yesterday wasn't so good. I had a little white chicken chili I made for lunch. Then I left work early and did a little shopping with my sister who is in town with her husband for a conference. We ended up at the German Bar for dinner. I ate peanuts and Bavarian fries with MAYONAISE! Oh, and tons of beer. Good, strong German beer. I don't even want to know how many calories that was. I ended up crashing at their hotel. Thank goodness I went shopping yesterday so I didn't have to answer questions at work about why I was wearing the same clothes I had on yesterday
![]() Today is not starting off much better. I grabbed a bagel on my way in to work - I really needed something to settle my stomach. So that's my carbs for the day today. I have to be good now that I can't run for a bit again.

Oh, and about that bagel this morning - sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. No sense feeling off all day. And, frankly, sometimes you just gotta have the good beer. I know I'm gonna crack on that soon. ![]() Brenda - off to a good start! I tried to understand the WW points a few years ago for a client, but I could never get past the fact that certain things had zero points. I kept getting stuck on that one thing. Like there was some veggie soup or something that had zero points and I wondered what stopped somebody from eating all their points and then just continuously ladling zero point veggie soup down their throat the rest of the day. I really have to let that go...hahahaha...I know what you mean though, once you get something like that stuck in your head, you know it forever. I know the calorie count of practically everything in the grocery store. |

So breakfast this morning was a 230 calorie Jimmy Dean D-lite breakfast bowl. Pretty filling, lot of protein. I chose to not workout today since I've been pretty beat up this week and I hadn't taken a day off since last Saturday. I did, however, take the bus to Starbucks and treat myself to a tall soy iced latte and then walked from one side of Santa Monica to the other so I could go to Michaels to buy the supplies to make the gift for my Elfster buddy. So I wasn't totally lazy today.
Lunch was a lean cuisine and some vegetables, then I had a special K bar and then another lean cuisine for dinner. 2 weeks and 6 days until Thanksgiving. I SO can't wait. I have a countdown almost to the second of when I get to eat and drink and be merry for a few days. ![]() Anybody have anything good going on this weekend? |

Last night DH and I spent the remainder of our calories on cocktails and shrimp cocktail. DH suggested that as an option and I thought it was a good idea. Yeah, other drinking snacks would have been more festive, but the shrimp cocktail doesn't have a lot of calories but we still felt like we had a nice splurge. Dump 2 mojitos on that and I was good to go. I felt all warm and fuzzy and happy.
Ahh alcohol, my long time friend. Why must you have to many calories? They need to make some sort of diet vodka or something. And, just as a P.S., I still find it hilarious to hear my husband order Sugar Free Red Bull. ![]() 2 weeks, 5 days until I get to cheat. (Goodness, some girls aren't this excited about counting down to the wedding day - I'm just going to Vegas and eating turkey!) |

Workout for the day - CHECK! Done!
![]() I did a mash up today - I did the 15 minute Jackie Warner upper body workout...(I soooo wasn't ready to do the lower body workout again so soon - seriously, I did that Monday and I felt shaky well into Thursday...), and then I did the 20 minute Turbo Jam workout, and then another one of the 20 minute yoga videos - this one was twists. I figure with the back thing going on, whatever it is, a little twisting might help. I had some back pain in like May, but that was upper back - this is like lower back, but not lower back, like the fleshy area, and it's not even really pain, it's like in the spinal column it feels when I lay down like I'm laying on something there. I feel like the Princess and the Pea or something. Whatever. It's not debilitating so I'll just wait it out a bit and see what happens. |

I wish you could get your back checked though - back injuries can be serious if not properly looked after.....good job on mixing the exercise videos up! I have thought about getting the turbo jam videos.

Thanks Ashely.
![]() I was a bad little girl last night - DH and I were going to meet up with some people we know at this wine tasting bar - where you purchase a card loaded with a dollar amount and then they have wine vending machines where you can purchase an ounce of a wine and just sample a bunch of different things. We thought that would be a good place to go because A) we enjoy going there and B) we could have multiple "drinks" but they would only add up to having 1 or 2. We could basically deceive ourselves into thinking that we had more drinks than we did and could not feel deprived of the bar experience by being limited by our calories to 1 or 2 drinks. So at like 9 we call and tell these people that we want to take the 9:17 bus and they were like, no, don't go yet, we're not ready to leave our house yet - take the next bus. (DH and I take the bus when we want to drink...) But we're all dressed and ready and then we're like what do we do? So DH and I made sugar free red bull and vodka drinks and sat out on the patio and drank those until we could go catch the 10:17 bus. So I ended up having a couple of shots of vodka AND the wine tasting last night and I really wasn't budgeted for that vodka...so I ended up going over my calories. The kicker? DH and I drank vodka to kill time so we could meet up with these people, and then when we get over to the wine place we get a text from them saying they were gonna pass. All for nothing! ![]() Well, not nothing. I did get to more than I anticipated... So I REALLY have to take my walk today now... Stupid vodka. Ha. DH got up early early early and went to the gym this morning - I guess all the hundred calorie packs of cookies he ate yesterday plus the vodka added up to him feelin guilty too. |
