It was a bit before Christmas when my DH and I had finally decided to set a date to get married. We sent out announcements with our Christmas cards that year

We got engaged on December 21st. In planning for the holidays, DH told me he wanted us to celebrate just the two of us, so we agreed to go out that night, and he wouldn't let me know what was going on. I showed up at his office and he took me to a hotel where he had set up the tiny christmas tree from his office with my presents under it. I brought his gifts (since this was "our christmas) and we opened presents and went to dinner and to see the Christmas lights at the zoo. On the way back to the hotel, he took me up to the mountain where we went on our first date and asked "did you get all your gifts?" and since he was smiling like a dork I said "well I guess not" and he gave me a crystal heart ornament that was engraved with my full name and said "will you marry me?"

It was very sweet and we were able to tell all our family when we saw them at Christmas, so it was a lot of fun!
