How to fancy up short hair?

I need some ideas to fancy up my hair. I tried to curl it with a curling iron the other day and didn't like it - not sure if I just didn't know what I was doing or not though

Of course I have hair pretties (pins, clips, bows, etc) I could wear, but I was trying to come up with something different for hubby's company Christmas party.

I don't have a good recent pic, but it looks like this (a little shorter though) ... please forgive the stupid face

My SIL is letting me borrow her crimper tonight. I am gonna play with some waves and maybe make me a headband or something. We will see ... I will post some pics when I find something I like

I tried my SIL's crimper to do something sort of like these, but I couldn't get the bangs to look right. I may try again tomorrow.

The crimping looks cute!! The pictures you posted are more curly. I use john frieda curling spray and either sleep on it or scrunch it until it looks right.
To curl lexi's hair i put a little bit of baby lotion in it and scrunch it, ive never tried it on my own hair but it doesnt make hers greasy just really soft! I think ill try this tonight on my own hair and let you know how it goes

I like to twist my bangs back..


Some other things i found to just "spice it up"
change your part
add some volume by teasing it and poofing it by your part and pin it back
texture the back with spikes
and of course hair pretties!

Its hard finding cute hairstyles for short hair! When i do google images it has more styles with long hair than short!

I like the twisty bangs thing.

I borrowed SILs big curling iron and tried that yesterday and didn't do what I wanted. So I may end up just doing the waves with the twist bangs, sort of like the pic I posted.

It is hard to show because i couldnt find any pictures of the back! I guess some people are only interested in taking pictures of their faces! lol

I see this one a lot but with the front straight and the rest textured
When i had my pixie bob my hair dresser recommended a bed head texture paste, it doesnt make the hair crunchy or greasy... The one i had is not available anymore but this one looks the it is similar, it just needs to be "workable" or "flexible"
