Default Beautiful Winter Wedding Ideas

To execute a winter wedding theme, combine colors and decorative elements that reflect the season.
The majority of all winter weddings are held indoors, which generally means they are a more formal occasion than a summer or spring wedding. For many brides and grooms, creating a formal event can seem like a daunting task. By choosing winter colors like white and silver and using crystals to emulate ice, a wonderful winter wedding theme is easy to accomplish.

Winter Wedding Theme Colors
There are many colors to choose from for a winter wedding: red, gold, ice blue, and silver are a few of the most popular options. One color that many people overlook is white. A lot of brides are afraid that a white dress and a white themed wedding will be too plain. Consider accenting it with silver. The combination is very simple, but will look luxurious and elegant if it carried out throughout the entire wedding properly.
Invitations for a Winter Wedding
Since winter weddings are more formal events, the invitations should also be formal. Use a heavy cardstock in white with black scripted writing. Add an elegant snowflake logo in silver. Crystals can be added in a polka dot styled frame. Another idea would be to tie a silver ribbon around the invitation. Also, black invitations with silver writing and accents look very formal; just be careful, as they could also look a bit depressing. Use envelopes for both the invitations and response cards that are gilded in silver on the inside.

Flowers for a Winter Themed Wedding
There are many different seasonal flowers that can be used in a winter wedding. The most popular choices are calla lilies, amaryllis, and hydrangeas. For a little more diversity and interest in the bouquets and boutonnières, add snowberries for texture or lamb’s ear or Dusty Miller leaves for a touch of silvery green. Crystals can also be added to the flowers. Have the florist wrap the flowers with white or silver ribbon embellished with crystals.
Winter Wedding Centerpieces
Instead of using flowers, a creative idea for the centerpieces is to use branches. Black or white branches can be found in craft stores. Glue little crystals to the branches to look like drops of ice, and arrange the branches in a clear crystal vase. Then place the vase on a mirrored disk. Surround the centerpiece with votives or tea lights. The candlelight will reflect on the crystals and mirror and the table will sparkle with winter beauty.

Wedding Cake for a Winter Wedding
A beautiful cake idea for a winter wedding is an all white cake dusted with edible silver powder. The cake can be embellished with a lace pattern or white sugar ribbons and sugar crystals. It can also be decorated using ribbon identical to the ribbon used on the bouquets. Another idea is to place each layer on cake stands and have crystal drops hanging from each stand.
Winter Wedding Favors
There are many great ideas for favors for a winter themed wedding. To match the reoccurring ice theme, consider crystal ornaments engraved with the bride and groom’s names and the date. Mini bottles of ice wine (wine made from grapes harvested while frozen) with custom labels are also a fun idea. Chocolate covered cranberries or roasted chestnuts in small silver mesh bags are a tasty treat. Another great idea is to have mugs custom made with the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date. The mugs can then be packaged with white hot chocolate mix.
winter wedding ideas

Using an elegant color palette of white and silver and letting crystals mimic ice, an elegant winter wedding is easy to plan. White flowers accented by silver green leaves will accentuate a beautiful dress, while centerpieces made of stark branches embellished with crystal ice drops will wow guests, and everyone will enjoy a tasty favor. This winter wedding will be a day remembered and treasured by all in attendance.

Beautiful table setting in that last photo - an ice sculpture would be a good addition!
