Thinking about the holiday exchange made me think of this; we may have done a poll on this before, but we will do it again

We celebrate Christmas and it has always been my favorite holiday! We have an artificial tree and put it up either on Thanksgiving or the day after so we can enjoy it for a while and get into the season
My Mom has always put her tree up on Thanksgiving in correlation the Macy's tree thing on TV; I don't go that far, but I still like to have ours up early.

I voted "Other" because there was no result for putting it up on Christmas Eve.
![]() Christmas 2007 i put the tree up on Christmas Eve and took it down on the 27th December. The Kids weren't coming down so it didn't feel like Christmas. ![]() Last year i put the tree up as soon as my OW Decoration arrived. I was so excited to see it on the tree. I couldn't wait to photograph it in place. This year the Kids are coming down on the 27th till Jan 2nd. So the tree will go up around the 22nd. |

Usually December 1st. I think I inherited the date from my mom, because she'd leave the Halloween decorations up quite awhile after Halloween....and I'm kind of the same way. lol

I voted other. Every few years we travel to both Michigan and New York so we don't bother decorating the house. But the years that we are home, we usually get the tree 2 weeks before Christmas.

We try to decorate around the beginning of December, but it never works out in time. Usually stuff gets decorated a few weeks before.

When I live back home with my granny we usually decorated the tree on the 23rd and kept it up 'til the 6th January.
Now I usually put the tree up a few weeks ahead. I can't wait 'til Christmas!! Woohoo!!! |

We try to get the tree in any time between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve - whenever works in our schedules and pocketbook. I love decorating, it's taking it all down that I can't stand!

I voted around thanksgiving.I put my tree up on thanksgiving. And all the decorations.FH and I argue every year.Because I want to put everything up before thanksgiving. He won't let me.So I sneak little things in.If I buy somehting new I just set it out. He'll say it's not time to put that stuff out yet.And I'll say "well there's no point in putting it in the closet when I'm just going to take it back out in a day or two."lol.

At my mom's house we've always done it right around Thanksgiving... typically that Friday or Saturday. The last few years I've done it myself because I'm just so excited to put it up, so I don't know when it would go up if I didn't do it. My mom's already enlisted my help for this year. So, I'm doing hers the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and we're doing ours TG morning since we're going to his parents' that day and my family is coming over Friday and we want the decorations up. I'm way excited! We've got a pile of lights and ornaments growing in our loft.. we keep picking things up here and there.
