I have been racking my brain on what to do for wedding favors for the adults attending the wedding.....I really wanted to get them something that wouldn't sit in a drawer for 10 years. So, I decided on something edible. I've been reading tons of different things saying that edible favors are the way to go. But up until last night I couldn't figure out what type of edible favor to do. I thought about having a candy buffet and let the guest put together their own box of chocolate of what they like....but that could get pricey.......so I decided on this: Homemade Chocolate Covered Cherries! lol I know it might not seem that great but I have a recipe where I can make them up to two weeks in advance. I can get cute little candy boxes that will hold four and decorate the boxes how I choose. They have a shelf life, they're not parishable like chocolate covered strawberries, which was my first idea. I'm going with these....they seem easy to make and there's not that many ppl that don't like them. My wedding party will receive the same wedding favor on top of a customized champagne glass......

For the children, I am going to make a customized coloring book, activity book with customized crayons and stuff like that to keep them busy at the reception.

What do you all think?

Chocolate covered cherries is cute! Just don't get upset if people don't take them or just throw them out. I was going to do chocolate covered strawberries for each person's seat, but a wedding that was attended by a family member, they did the same thing and she was shocked at how many people left the strawberries behind or threw them out. She told me it would be a waste of money, but I myself am doing the chocolate candy buffet....

I plan on doing the buffet with little candy boxes decorated up with a little thank you attached to the outside or put inside the box....

Good luck and have fun with it!!!

I won't be offended at all, if everyone doesn't take them, they have a shelf life so someone else can take them lol I'm definitely not worried about that at all. I found the boxes really cheap online, 100 of em for like $18.16 and get them personalized. So, I'm totally excited about it!

That's cool. May I ask what website you got the boxes from???

I just know that my aunt went to the wedding and she said the bride was flipping out because people weren't taking them.... i kind of had to giggle...

I love that idea. We almost decided to do that, but I think that we have decided to do scones or decorated cookies simply because we are giving away tea and the cherries just don't go as well. We made cherries for Christmas this year as gifts and it went over amazingly well. Our family's are still talking about them. It sure takes a while to wrap the cherries in fondant and double dip them in the chocolate, but it is so worth it. Good luck!
