OK, so we're probably a little late on this, but I wasn't planning on getting engagement photos done until I found out I get the sitting for free with my photographer (then the holidays got in the way). So anyways, our engagement photo sitting is in two weeks. What does one wear to an engagement photo sitting? I've seen so many different things. Did anyone get engagement photos done? Would you mind if I had a look to get some ideas of what we should wear or how we should look? Thanks in advance guys!

Sean and I got them done a couple months ago. Call and ask you rphotographer would like you to wear. I know it will depend on the type of pictures that they do and the setting they plan on using. I would stick with something neutral though. I wore a black boat neck sweater and Sean wore a white open collar shirt and navy sports coat. we went with black and white photos so the navy and black won't clash. If you look in my journal I think that I posted some of them in there.

Thanks Lacey! Those pictures look really nice! I LOVE Sepia tones...so maybe I'll ask them what kind of stuff we should wear that would look good in Sepia. I know I'm getting at least one of our wedding pics in Sepia to hang on the wall...it's such a classic look! I love the black and white too! You guys look great in those pics!

We just wore "nice" everyday clothes for ours. My hubby wore his country shirt and wranglers andI wore a nice blue jean skirt and aqua tank top with a dark blue cardigan over it. I didn't think it was necessary to look like people we aren't. We wanted to look comfortable but nice....and definately we did not want to look like we were uncomfortable and out of place. We just made sure that we didn't clash and that the colors we wore were completmentary!! Unfortunately no scanner means no pics online, so you'll just have to conjure up the picture in your mind...lol. Hope that helps some!

I'm conjuring I'm conjuring...I like turquoise, so it sounds very pretty and looks very pretty in my mind. You're right, I don't want us to look like people we aren't...but I want it to look really nice too...guess that doesn't say much about us...lol. :)

I have a feeling that you are just like me....very down to earth and a jeans and tshirt/sweat shirt (???) kinda girl??!! Like I said, dress comfortably but nicely....you can never go wrong with a tank top and cardigan or something of the like. Steer clear of the tux and evening gown though....lol...just buggin!

Hehe...thanks for the anti-evening gown comment. Considering I don't really own one, I think we're ok. I do have a very conservative black dress I was thinking about wearing and then he could wear his black jeans and white sweater with black flecks (that he looks SO good in). I'm not sure though. I have to think some more on it and of course, talk to him...and take in all of yall's tips...:)

If you want sepias or black and whites done than that sounds perfect. The really dark and the really light will contrast nicely. Just avoid patterns and bright colors.

I have been thinking about that too. We have endagment photo's to do still. Mark has a really nice V-Neck sweater that looks nice with a dress shirt under it. I wouldn't mind wearing a sweater like that as well. But, i don't want to be to matchy matchy. I like Canadian Brides Tank-top and cardigan idea.
A more casual photo would be nice. There are going to be so many 'formal' photos from the wedding.

I'm not having any engagement photos done. But when I did my graduation pictures I remember the photographer letting me change my top at least twice. It was nice to have a couple different looks to choose from. If it was me though I would just wear a nice sweater(depending on the weather) and jeans. I am a down to earth girl too!;)

We havent had any professional pics taken, but since the pic of us in my journal was taken on my birthday which turned out to be our "official" engagement day, that would be our "engagement" pic, right? ;)
