I was just curious... When you make your DIY invitations, do you hand-write everything, home-print everything, or go to a printer to just print the basics and make the rest yourself? I'm still hesitating between the last two solutions.

We are going to print examples at home and then take them in to Staples or some other office store to get them copied.

So far I've printed everything at home too. But we are only inviting about 50 people, so It's gone pretty fast.

I printed a sample at home but then took them to Staple's to be printed. My dinky little printer couldn't handle 150 invitations, plus all the inserts!!

We did all printing ourselves (except the envelopes, which we have yet to tackle). We priced it out for a printer to do them -- 50 invites (invitation, RSVP card, map) would have cost at least $100. DIY route: FH bought new ink for $50 and we can use it for months to come.

I didn't do my wedding invitations DIY, but I did do the bridal shower invites and a favor for the bridal shower.
We just did sheets of labels for the outside of the envelopes, and for the actual invitation, I just printed on resume paper and taped to the cardstock.

We did these at home.

We printed everything at home. Invites, RSVP cards, direction inserts, thank you cards, place cards, favor tags, table numbers, etc.
When I took the invites to Kinkos to get a price, it was expensive and they couldn't get my burgundy ink on my invites done correctly - I spent a ton of time getting it to the "just so" color - so I did it myself. I printed 20 or so at a time. It took a while, but it was worth it.

I found two printers on sale over Christmas - a photo printer and a good color jet printer and bought them.
Printing is sooo expensive I am doing everything here at home. You can do some really neat things at home. I did all my nieces invitations, directions, rsvp cards, everything from home and they were beautiful.
You can do it and they will look lovely.

I bought some cute daisy DIY invitations at a craft store...so I'll be printing my own. My dad bought me a really awesome printer a few years ago, it has helped SO much with the wedding stuff!
