i saved my dogs life!

Last night I noticed a shiny silver thing in my Chihuahua, Harley's, mouth. I was trying to get it but he was moving around so my brother tried and couldn't find it. THEN finally i got it and pulled it out and it was a NEEDLE with a long piece of thread attached to it and Harley had already swallowed the thread...when i pulled it out the long string came out and it had nasty stuff on it cause it was down his throat!!!!!!! HE SERIOUSLY COULD HAVE DIED! I am so glad i saw it and got it cause that could have been so BAD!!!

Wow....Dogs sure do eat the weirdest things... My dog just recently ate all of the beads one by one on a throw pillow I had on the couch...He ate all of them!! And sure enough...his poop is comming out pretty with white beads in it :)

Anyways, Glad your dog is okay...watch out for things like that...Vet bills are HUGE!! They're like little kids :)

Jen, thank goodness he is OK that is always scary.
My dog recently ate my cell phone, but chewed right threw it and almost ate the battery, but spit it out when it burned his tongue from the chemicals. he ingested some pieces of the phone as well. SCary stuff!! Dogs get the darndest things!!!

A thong? OMG hahaha. It is so good that you were paying attention to your baby like that. I bet that you were really freaking out! When I was a kid my dog ate a whole thing of blood bait (eww) with several fishing hooks. She was okay though. Crazy things!

Ditto once ate a sock (those really small thin ankle socks) I called the vet all in a panic, she told me it should pass in a couple of days ... and this is really gross... when she pooped, it was all inside the sock!!!

Dogs will eat anything :worm: We really have to keep an eye on ours and keep things out of their reach!

Okay..One to top them all.

My inlaws were in Brazil visiting family. There was a dog walking around with what looked like a balloon hanging out of it's bum. He could not get it out. My mother in law thought it was his intenstines being expelled. She told my father in law to take a look at it. He too thought the dog was expelling his intestines. So my Father in law got closer to the dog and the "balloon" was getting longer and longer. So he steped on it and the dog ran off...leaving behind.....a plastic grocery bag....hahahahaha True story...How he ate it is beyond me...LOL

OH GOSH!!!!!!!!! We had this toy that was a rope with a tire on one end and our dogs chewed the tire off and then one day the rope was half gone and then Harley pooped out the rope. It was soooooooo gross I couldn't clean it. I was just gagging, EWWWWWWW nasty rope poop!!!!!!

My dog, Hina, ate a heart shaped box of Hershey kisses...we called the vet and they told us to watch her closely...Anywho...we took her out back to do her business one day and all of a sudden...she's in 'the stance' and we see sparkles!!! Sure enough...she poo'd out the wrappers...it was the shiniest thing ever...kind of amusing after we knew she was going to be ok. She also likes to eat condoms and tampons...I swear she has thumbs...we close the bathroom door and she can still manage to get to the trash...

It's a good thing you spotted the needle!

My mom's dog at an entire jar of red glitter - heaven's knows why she'd eat glitter, but for a long time after, my mom had a yard of red glittery dog poo. The yard would sparkle when the sun hit it - it was kind of funny.
