I'll be 32 next month. I'm still not absolutely sure what I want to do for a living.
I've been a house painter for 13 years. I own my own business, so can set my own hours and pay scale. And that part is GREAT. But it's really hard work (I just finished painting the outside of a house yesterday...and it's been above 100 degrees everyday) and my body is starting to show the wear of doing it for so long (bad back, bad knees, etc).
Right now I'm also working part time helping a lady with Parkinson's. It's fine, but don't want to do that for a career, either. I'm basically just helping out a friend.
So, since I'm in the middle of trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up....I'm asking you ladies.
What do you do for a living? Are you going to keep doing what you're doing? Is it what you WANT to do? If not...what DO you want to do?

Currently I work as a technical illustrator/Graphic Designer for a software company. I like my job but I want to go back to school once the wedding is over and get my masters in Marketing Communications.

I don't/didn't/haven't been to college yet. I just hate school and don't think its for me..lol. My dad has his own business so i work for him. THe business is just now starting to get big so I am thinking this can be my career. But when we have kids i want to stay at home with them and DH wants me to. Evan is a manager of Valvoline & is going to school full time to be a Radiologist :)
IF i did go back to school, i'd be something to do with animals.

This is going to sound odd but I always wanted to be a bail enforcement agent, aka a bounty hunter. My uncle was a bounty hunter and he would tell me about it when I was really young and it's always stuck with me. At the moment though I'm what I like to call a domestic engineer. Basically, I'm a house-fiance. Well I can't say wife, I'm not married yet. Lol.

Um.. i used to want to be a cartoonist.. Like, since i was really little. But then i realized how much my art sucks, lol. So now i'm just going for something that'll bring me money.. like billing or radiologist.. They'd have to give me my finiacial aid first.. And my GPA was .03% away from being accepted this year >.<..

I don't know what I want to do either. I was studying to be a teacher, but decided that that is not what I want to do. I just have no clue what I want to do. I am currently working at an insurance company. I worked at one while in college and when I posted my resume online another company saw it and contacted me so here i am. MY fiancé wants to start a comedy club. I think that would be really fun to do. I would end up doing most of the work so that he could keep his job since it pays well and he gets good benefits from it.

I have done just about everything ... I took graphic design in college & worked at that for a time .... when I got pregnant, I stayed home to raise my kids ..... I have managed a craft store .... done customer service ..... was an invoicing clerk ....... and now I am an office manager.
I started selling crafts when my kids were young to earn extra $$$ and have kept it up all along. When DH got together and we merged our "creative juices" (sounds dirty doesn't it???LOL), the business took off. I am 44 but ........ when I grow up (LOL) I want to quit the day job and concentrate on the biz. It will be my job to pave the way so that DH can quit his day job too :)
Nix that .... when I grow up, I want to be retired :)

I don't know what I want to do that's realistic. I've always wanted to be a movie reviewer because I'm a movie freak. I reviewed movies in the college newspaper and LOVED it. I don't really like journalism though and you have to work up in a newspaper. I write reviews on my blog and other things and I let it all out on there...it realy does seem to satisfy me. Right now I'm an admin assistant.
My fiance has his dream job, it's amazing to really see someone do something they love. He does violin repair and even builds them from time to time.

Well right now I work for the county I live in dealing with the medical and dental insurance for all the county employees... paying claims and what not. Its a nice job but I wont be here but for another few years. I am going back to school for a degree in Social Work. I dont know exactly what I will want to do with it once i have it, but I have to be helping people.
FH is in dental school now, he will be done with that in a little less than 3 years, when we have kids I want to stay at home with them, so I think it will be a while before I have a "career"
All time dream would be to open a Cake Bakery, but after the mess of my kitchen I made last night trying to ice 2 cakes... I will not be Mrs. Betty Crocker any time soon either...:sob:

The only thing I have ever known since I was like 18 was medicine. I have been an EMT/Paramedic since I was 18. I procrasinated back to school and in the next year and a half hopefully have my RN degree. After that honestly.. I want to sell Avon or do craft shows. I want to have a little side job that doesn't deal with medicine and is a stress reliever....

I'm in college studying to do computer science research!
Funny thing is I always wanted to be a journalist or a diplomat, I really changed my mind when I took my first computer science class out of curiosity.

I currently go to school full-time and work about 30 hours a week at the campus post office as a clerk...definitely not something I plan on doing as a career.
I'm majoring in Writing and Psychology with a minor in Linguistics, which can cover all types of writing from journalism to fiction books.
However, I have worked in animal rescue for over five years. I have been vice-president of a rescue as well as an adoption/intake/foster home coordinator. I'd love to do something that involves animals. My FH and I have a dream of owning our own pet supply store as well as running a rescue.

My dream from the time I was in 6th or 7th grade was to be a child care teacher. I did that for many years. Two different states adn three different day cares. The last one I was there for about 4 1/2 years. I left to stay home after having my second child. I can say I did what I wanted to do. When it was time for me to go back to work ( ex and I split ) I didn't feel I could go back to child care. I had alot of stress in my life at the time and I had 2 kids that were day care age. I didn't think it would be faire ( or easy ) to take care of some one elses kids all day and have some one else take care of mine. And I was a single mom so dealign with kdis all day and then having to come home to take care of my own as well was not in the cards for me then. I fell into banking. A friend of mine was head teller and I got in and have been a teller for 4 1/2 years now. I am going no where with it and the job just keeps getting harder with sales and thing now. I don't liek it as much as I use to. My dream right now is to stay home with my baby and be there to get my kdis after school. The only way to do that is to take care of a coupel of kids here at home. We will see what happens by the end of the year. If I do that and when it is time to go back to work I would like to be a receptionist some where. I love office work. I like the paper work and the deadlines and what not. I am very much a people person and that is the one thing that has kept me where I am so far. I love my customers and would hate to leave them.
So I will be 32 ina few motnhs and no I don't have a clue what I REALY want to be when I grow up. I will figure it out one day I hope.

ive never known what ive wanted to do....when i first started working i i did the usual useless jobs(fast food places, cashier etc.)....then i did hairdressing....then i did security.....then when i moved to a new town i got into working at a bike shop-and i LOVE it!!! every aspect of the shop interests me....and when i eventually get bored of one area(which will probably happen)theres a whole 'nother area i can go to!(parts, accessories, sales, service, managing, finac ing etc. etc.)and learning about bikes and tehe mechanics of how they work is so interesting!
so....atleast for the time being, ive found something i love to do :D and if i stick with it long enough things will start to pay off for sure!(i already LOVE my boss and everyone i work with-so thats a great start :) )
for me its exciting to finally have a job that i enjoy going to in teh morning-ive never had that before :P

I've worked in an HR office for almost 6 years now. Unfortunately we found out a few months ago that the distribution center I work for is shutting down next may...right before my wedding, eek! It was my first REAL job and I do enjoy it, so I was really bummed for a while. So I've given A LOT of thought about what I want to do next. I'm only 23 years old, and I didn't go to college, so I have no clue. Honestly I'd love to just be a stay-at-home Mom! There couldn't be a better job than that! :D

I have to say... I am doing what I love. I am a Toddler Teacher at a child care. The kids are wonderful, I have such a good time. THeir smiles are thanks enough, how cliche', since the pay sucks. I have an associate in child development, but still only get paid $8. Still love my job though... Maybe someday I will owm my own child care, but I need a house first!
