So, I found the magnetic pre-scored business card paper here: http://www.decalpaper.com/magnetic-decalpaper.html?gclid=CPrmmczHto0CFQUQFQodZSiFMQ - it's about $13 for 10 sheets of 10 cards/sheet paper, does that sound about right?
And I saw this design that I really loved (even though it doesn't go with our colors or the invitations I've picked):

And came up with this after playing around in photoshop (which I am clueless at)... now I have two questions... the image resolution is low because I just grabbed the jpg from whatever website I found that STD on, do you think that will matter THAT much when printing? And also, is it totally crass and horrible and wrong to use that design and not pay for it? Again, clueless; there's no way we could pay the $1.50/magnet they were charging though.

:bbeek: Dang, you move fast! I haven't even considered what my STDs will look like!
:bblol:
Those are verrrry pretty, though! I love blue and brown - it was actually my first choice for colors.
Did you see my invites when you were here? If so, you probably noticed how grainy they were. Well, we figured out that it was because it was made in Photoshop. We made the same invite with the same layout and same pictures in Adobe Illustrator and it turned out PERFECTLY. No grain at all in the font or photos.
(Keep in mind, it looked GREAT on the computer, but printed out crappy....and it did the same on 4 different -and expensive- printers.)
Needless to say, I have to start alllll over (after making ALL the invites already). But it'll be worth it in the end.
SO yeah, I highly suggest Illustrator.
And it might be tacky to use someone else's design...but I got my idea from another that I saw, so I say it's ok. :bblol: (Plus, it looks like you changed it a bit.)

Hmmm, will have to see if anyone I know has Illustrator. Thanks doll! :)
I didn't see yours yet, but next time!
When do people do STDs? It's not really a "destination" wedding, but quite a few people will be traveling.

I have Illustrator right now, though it's borrowed from Jeremy's dad. Can you burn cds like that? If so, I can mail it to you.
Usually people do STDs (heh. that still cracks me up. STD.) about 6 months before the wedding.
And yours will be a destination wedding for me. :winktongue:

We already did our STD because I was too excited not to do it right away and I figured since it was a magnet it was ok to do it early. Erik has always left me love notes on the pavement with chalk so that's why we did this...we did the chalk drawing ourselves.

Oh and great job doing that yourself, I hope it works out well.

Unfortunately it will. A good rule when printing is it should be 150-300 dpi, if you downloaded it from the website is will be 72 dpi which will resulted in a pixelated image. However, not all is lost! If you go to http://www.istockphoto.com/index.php they have very similar patterns to then one that you have. Search "Illustrations". Most are only $1 to download high res illustrations. If you have adobe illustrator, it is really easy to change the colors of them too. But you change do it photoshop too. Hope this helps.
BTW... They look really great!

Thanks everyone for the replies!
Danielle, can you give me a jumping off point for keyword searching the illustrations (thanks so much for the website, stock illustrations never occured to me!)? No idea what something like that would be labeled as.
Thanks!!

THANK you!
I found the same floral design in the right color! And about 1023894736 more that I loved. Hehehe, now I have to decide which one to use and get my hands on a copy of illustrator.
