... if you were given a large sum of money and you had to spend it on yourself? You can't spend it on the wedding either ;)

What would you buy first; jewelry, clothes, etc?

Me; I would probably get some clothes, some goodies for my dogs, and maybe get a tattoo or two ... a spa day sounds good too ;)

Can we pay bills?!??! That is what I would do...

If not I would buy clothes since mine don't fit...I have lost 30 lbs in the past few months...so they are hanging!

i'm with elizabeth on this. how large a sum are we talking? and can we pay bills? i would completely redo my home after paying it off. from top to bottom. then i would take myself on a mini vacation away from it all for at least one week.

Well, I'd probably pay as many months of my rent as I could. Because then there'd be an extra amount every month, and I'd be able to spend it every month. I'd buy shoes, new dresses (this is such a summer for dresses! :jpticked: <--- That's me profusely sweating. I dunno, I'm a clotheshorse, I'd totally spend it all on fashion. And some kind of treadmill or exercise bike. I used to have one living at my mom's, and I was in a lot better shape back then.

No ;) The fun of this little hypothetical is that you'd have to spoil yourself. You can't pay bills, can't donate it, etc ... So how would you spoil yourself if you could?

how large a sum are we talking?
I don't know, lets say $10,000 :cloppy:

Ohhhhhhhhhh only $10 K LOL - Ok so I would put a downpayment on the home on the lake :)

or .... I have always wanted a kick-a55 grandfather clock

or .... perhaps a downpayment on a little red MGB

or ..... a trip to England, Ireland and Scotland

or .... lots and lots and lots of really cool business supplies & equipment!!!!

What is an MGB :bbconfused: I assume this is a car?

Yep ... It's a British car. My SIL got one when I was 13 and I have dreamed of owning my own ever since. At this point in my life, I would "settle" for any small red convertible :)

I'd really want to put that towards student loans.

But if not, i'd use it for a down payment on the house we're trying to buy.

I would buy Daniel a boat - a nice one - and would take the plane to Japan and wait for him to arrive - his dream has always been to sail across the globe or at least halfway. Then we'd spend some time there together after I got the tourism out of my system ;) Maybe live there for a year to enjoy all four seasons - I can't decide which one I like best in the pictures.

I would pay off my credit cards to begin with. That's actually things I have spent on myself lol.
I would rip EVERYTHING a part in this house and get rid of all the hand me downs and such and re do it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd buy myself a heated driveway so I wouldn't have to shovel anymore, then I would go through my entire wardrobe and get rid of a whole bunch of the stuff I was affraid to get rid of because it was expensive and re buy what I wanted and needed.

A cool car, the house of my dreams and put some in savings.

The first part is so cliche, I'd buy a house, a car and pay off the bills. Then I'd get liposuction and breast implants. And save whatever was left.
