Yes you read it right I broke my foot!!!! They want to cast me but I won't let them as a cast will take 8 weeks to heel and on top of it my foot won't be strong enough to dance on.
I was playing volley-ball with my clients and I twisted it the wrong way. It hurt I thought nothing of it. It continues to hurt so I "assumed" (you know what happends when you assume! lol) I sprained it. Again no big deal. It just got worse and worse so my coworker drove me to the hospital and it was broken in 2 places. I'm on crutches trying to plan a wedding and I'm going snakey! There is only so much you can do and I obviously can't run around either!
At this point I don't care if it heals wrong and they need to re break it later. I'm enjoying my wedding and I WILL be dancing at it too!!!!

Aww that's awful ! I hope you'll get better soon & aren't in too much pain.
Is there any way to cast it for only a month and take it off before the wedding?
At any rate try to rest it as much as possible until then - you never know it could heal faster.

Can they put a cast on for a few weeks and then have it taken off right before your wedding and then put back on?!?!?
I broke my foot one year ago and refused a cast too and it still hurts!!!!!!
Better your foot then your nose right?!?!? Like in that movie!

Thanks ladies! It sucks it just plain and simple SUCKS! I will make it ok by the 15th of Septemebr lol.
The problem with a cast as the Dr. said is that I either keep it on for 8 weeks or not at all. My foot will be soooooooooooo weak after havign a cast on it, that I could do more harm then good walkign on it.
I'm being super careful. I'm keeping it up and using my crutches all the time. This is all for the wedding because if this was an everyday thing i would just go and do whatever.
Thanks for all your thoughts, I just think this is rediculous. But really have you seen my year thus far? really have you because it shouldn't come as a suprise lol
I am so sorry! I wish you well!

Hun I am sorry to hear that you broke your foot. But from personal and medical stand point, PLEASE TAKE THE CAST. This is nothing to fool around with just because you want to dance on your wedding. My opinion is that you be put in a cast and start the healing process correctly. There are more complications and pain with re-fracturing a break to re-set it and have it heal. It make do more damage to wait. I look at this way... You can have your cast decorated and look have some alcohol comsumption on your wedding day and have fun. Put a roller skate on your cast and you will be able to dance and move around... hahaha... well take care and please dont wait to have it rebroken...
I personally have had my left ankle broken and was stubborn, I ended up with surgery and surgical implants in my ankle because of my stubborn self.

First of I am SO SORRY to hear about your foot. I hope that it heals well and you don't have any problems from it. I had a friends brother in law have the same thing happen right before his wedding. He had a cast on was on crutches and dance all he wanted. He did make sure to rest between songs and took his medication when he needed. Everyone had fun decorating the cast at the wedding, and he did not let it slow him down at all. Depending on the kind of dress, they may not notice the cast. I sure hope your feeling well soon.

Oh noooo! That just stinks! :bbcry:
Just take care of yourself until you have to be on it. And be careful in your heels if you're doing heels at the wedding - those are dangerous on an already iffy foot.

Awww hun ... with all that you have been through this past year, you just have to believe that your bad luck has run out; the barrel is dry.
This can only mean that your wedding day is going to go off perfectly! :)

I do have a soft cast on, so I don't have a naked little foot or anything. It's got the splint on it and everything. The swelling is still pretty bad, but I keep it up, but still what a pain in the A$$!!!!
Kev left for Montreal this morning and he gave me the 10 minute lecture before he left about sitting around and not cleaning liek a mad woman while he was gone (which I normally do when I'm bored.)

OUCH, that sucks. I had done that myself when I was younger....First day of Christmas vacation from school, and was out sleding with my brother and sister, when I ran my foot into a tree, fractured it. In a cast for 6 weeks. No more Christmas vacation. So I know what your going through.
Best of luck and hope it heals for ya.

I was going to suggest a lightweight cast or even an air cast if possible to use with the break you have. it would be better than nothing at all. only trying to cheer u up hon but at least your wedding dress is long enough to conceal it. lol. i hope it gets better before the wedding

This definitely sucks, but that is exactly what I was thinking! I mean I don't think there is much else that can come your way! Like elizabeth said, your weddding day is bound to be perfect with as much **** as you have had to deal with. Just focus on that :)
