Another post made me think of this question. Where to you put your website, on the invites, only the STD's? Or just word of mouth?

I don't know that there is any proper etiquette on this, but I would think it is ok to put your wedding website info on the STD's and invites (just the address at the bottom) as well as spread the word via word of mouth.

I put them on the STD's....I think if you put it there you might not need in out the actual invites! OR if you do want it with the invites, you could put it on a seperate card, with the directions, or any hotel info, etc!!!

I just did not want it on the invite!

I think I would rather see it on the STD too. I never thought about it as an alternative to invites though. But I guess it could work; I know people can put RSVP tracking on these sites or even a simple email link. But me personally, I sent STD (well more like announcements) to everyone, but not actual invites to everyone.

My mom is putting them in the bridal shower invites as well as the engagement party invites (we are not doing std) BUT if your doing std i would put them in there. But i would never be put off by seeing it on an invite- people need to understand thats part of technology and its in everything we do now!

We are putting a little insert the size of a business card in our shower invites with a picture of us and something that says something like "To track our journey to the alter check out our website, you will find any information you need to know."
My shower will be all the women on my guest list though, so its a more wide spread audience then a 10 person shower or anything.
on the engagement it will just be on the bottom of the invite

Mine wedding website went on my bridal shower invite but I also put it on the wedding invite to let people know they could look there for directions or for accomodations.

I'm putting them on the STD and on the RSVP card in the invite. I figure most people would rather rsvp online than have to remember to send in a card. I'd probably end up getting a bunch of replies through email and myspace anyway. "I forgot to mail the card, but I'm coming!" and that kind of stuff.

I put ours on our STD magnet: http://www.roadlessunraveled.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/savethedate.jpg

I think I'll just put the address at the bottom of the card, or on the rsvp as an option. That way I can avoid all the inserts because stamps are very expensive here...

We are having pocketfolds. I am planning on putting it on the front of the pocket on the right side. We are probably not having a bridal shower and I didn't do stds.

Danielle I am going to start working on a website for my FH and I. I am going to put it on the bottom of the save the date card. Or just make a little decorative piece of paper to put in with the save the date card with the website addy.

I put ours on a little separate piece of paper with the STD's. I really like the idea of putting it on the STD magnet too. I wish I would've thought of that! If you do it that way, guests are less likely to lose it!

I put it on the STD's because the website already has info about travel and the airline discount and I imagine people aren't going to wait to get the invites to arrange travel (especially family). I'm also going to put it on the RSVP card of the invites as the preffered method.

We made a seperate card for it and included it with the invites. I think I just had it say "For more information on wedding and registry, visit ...". But FYI, hardly anyone went to my site, I had a counter on it for visits...hardly moved. But hey, that's just my guests! Lol.

I've actually seen them on the RSVP card inserted with the invite

I was wondering about this too.

It will be easy to tell all my friends about the website, I can just post the address on my myspace page as well as post a bulletin about it. I'll have to think about how I will let everyone else know about the website since we aren't doing Save the Date's.

I'm spreading by word of mouth, actually, by email and forum and Yahoo Groups and Usenet and so on :) Spreading the word far and wide!!!

We will also be putting it on a business card with our invites. There will be the invitation, the website business card, and a map regarding the location(s). At least, so far!

Hopefully most people will get the website via word of mouth and put it in their favorites or something before they get the invites.

The website should be done enough to let people know about it by Veteran's Day, so . . .

When I eventually send out invites in the faraway future, I'm going to give guests the option to RSVP online, if they don't want to take the effort to drop the cards in the mail (may help with more RSVP turnout!).
