So I've wanted to started my after wedding journal for some time now, but I just haven't had the time. This will be pretty brief because my son is waiting for me next door at my grandparents.
In general, the wedding was awesome...everything I hoped it'd be. Everyone had a great time and everything looked amazing. My BMs had issues at the end of the night with the fact that their gathered dresses came unstitched after stepping on them periodically...and for the money they spent, it shouldn't have happened.
I still have no photos to show you since I have yet to hear from my photographer. She did a fantastic job (from what I can tell) and took over 1,000 photos so I'm trying not to be annoying, but if I don't hear from her next week I'll call since it'll have been a month by then.
We're settling into our townhouse and things are finally all unpacked. DH got fired the week after the wedding though so I'm stressed about money and bills right now. We had to use half of our wedding money on this month's rent which upset me because I was hoping to buy a couch with it since all we have to sit on right now is a futon.
The thank you's for the wedding (all 56 of them) have been done for a week now and are ready to be mailed. I'm just waiting on the photographer because she's supposed to be giving me little cards to include in the thank you's that tell people how to access and order photos from the wedding online. So as soon as I get those I can mail them out....I'm so glad to have gotten that done with. I did them all in one night and my hand hurt but once I was on a roll I just wanted to get them all over with.
I've been working at the county convalescent center as a pharmacy technician since July 2nd but was just offered a new job that I'm super excited about. I still am hoping to get a call in a few weeks and get hired as a teacher in a public school, but if I don't at least I'll have this. I was asked on the spot to be the head preschool teacher at a ritzy daycare called the Goddard School. It is a chain that's starting to pop up around here and they're building a new one literally a half mile from our townhouse. It opens in September and the woman who interviewed me actually called me two nights ago asking if it would be all right with me if she had me as a floating teacher instead of being assigned to my own classroom because she wants to train me as the assistant director. So I'm way excited because the only person above me then is the director. I have a feeling it'll mean I won't get to teach as much which I'm bummed about, but I should be getting paid more (haven't found out for sure), it'll look great on my resume when I do decide to teach in a school, and I get to take my son to work with me because if I enroll him (even part time) I get a 50% discount. The woman also said at some point she'd like to add an all day kindergarten class to the center and would need a certified elementary school teacher and she knows I am certified and hinted towards wanting me to do it. I emailed one of my professors from college about it because I was worried that maybe I shouldn't have accepted it as I'm somewhat over-qualified to be working in a daycare, but she thinks it's a great opportunity for me so I feel better about it.
Anyway, sorry this was so long...I'll update more later. My grandma is calling me to go get Zach.
