Ladies, how does this look? I like it but that is a lot of names. It doesn't start to look like a phone book after awhile does it?

No, it doesn't look like a phone book at all. It's very beautiful. I incorporated my FH's parents' names in the beginning as they are paying for a good part of the catering and the flowers. But I think the way you incorporated it is just as beautiful.

I get to pick up my invitations next week! YAY!

Thanks girls. I am ordering them on Tuesday or Wednesday. I just need to triple check the menu with my site coordinator before I order the response cards. No point in offering something that isn't going to be there, right?

Very pretty invitation Lacey! Since Brian and I are paying for our own wedding, I wont be putting any family members names on mine and they look kinda sad! :(

Just a thought, but if you don't like how they look you could do something like: Jane Doe, daughter of Tom and Lisa Doe and John Smith son of Joe and Sue Smith invite you to.....etc.

Hey! I got my "phone book"s yesterday! As soon as I get a free moment, I'll scan them in so you can all see. It's so exciting that we're that close!

I know I am so excited. I don't know what the heck happened though. On December 31 I had all the time in the world to plan a wedding. Everything was going to get done. Then I woke up on January 1 and now it seems like crunch time! I am in panic mode trying to get everything organized and figured out? How did 8 hours of sleep make that big of a difference?

I'm in the same boat! Gotta do gotta do gotta do! So the fact that it's 9pm and I'm still at work is driving me NUTS! Ok, I'm done...whew...

I just wish my site coordinator would get back with me. I emailed her about hte menu on Tuesday afternoon. Not to sound spoiled but I never got an "out of office" reply from her email system. So to me this lack of attention is totally unacceptable. I want to order the :censored: invitations. Ok, the bridezilla moment is over.

Hehe...I'm the same way though...I HATE when I contact someone and they don't contact me back for a long time. Got rid of one of my caterer possibilities because of that. It just :censored: me off!

Are you matching your menu to your invitations? I bet that would be absolutely GORGEOUS!

Im not matching the menu to the invites. But we are having a sit down dinner with a cople of options. So I needed that to put on the response set. I would love the idea of matching menu cards to the invites. That would be so pretty. But, I also don't like the idea of spending $200 on something that no one but you and I would appreciate. So, I think I am just oging to go to Michael's and get some plain white panel cards to use as little menus. $25 I can justify for something little and totally non essential like that. But I can't swallow 10x's that.

I hear ya! I was thinking of posting my menu, very artistically, by the buffet. That way, I just have to pay for one board. I've seen it in magazines, so I don't think it's too cliche, and my FH's sister paints, so maybe she can help me make it pretty...:)

Heck you could even just print one out on some nice paper and stick it in a 5x7 picture frame that you pick up at Target or WalMart. I have seen it done like that too.

At least the weekend is almost here. At some point tonight I have to read Kafka's "Metamorphisis" Our AP Lit. teacher is out tomorrow afternoon and asked me to fill in for her so they don't have to pay a sub. I didn't read the **** thing when I took AP Lit. I majored in the social sciences for a reason people! So I would never have to read exestential/modern literature again!

Wow it looks wonderful, I love it. I actually hand made mine and they look almost identical. I didn't find anything I liked my mother even went to Mexico to search for a unique style when she gets back I'll see what she found but meanwhile I found paper at the craft store that matched my wedding colors to the T. and my best friend and I put it together. My actually does look like a phone book since many people in our familys are being gracious enough to help us with the wedding so we have to put them in the invite. I'll post a pick when we have all the names.

OH! I had to read that in high school...GOD what an AWFUL book! On a plus side, at least it's short. Too bad I didn't get this until now, I could have sent you the video we made for the project on that book! It's Metamorphosis staring Barbie...we only had two people in our group...we had to improvise.

ROFL!! Oh my god I am laughing so hard right now!!
I would pay money to see that video!
:bblol: Was Barbie the star? LOL!!

No, actually...we went to the dollar store and got a bug (because the main character of the story wakes up as a cockroach one day...REALLY weird story). We couldn't find a cockroach, so we bought a fly and ripped his wings off. He hung out in my car for quite awhile after that...he was like a mascot. And the holes where the wings were worked perfectly for the 'special effects' of getting the apple stuck in him like the story says happens. But there was Barbie, Courtney, and Ken, and I think the mini-Ken's name was Brad...and Aladdin (twice over because my sister had two...they had different colored hats though). Ok, I just realized I'm rambling about barbie dolls...

That would have been great. I really like the part when the family starts to throw apples at him.

I made it through and even sounded like I had a clue as to what was going on. Which is a miracle because I totally have no clue as to what was going on. I don't uderstand why he suddenly turns into a bug! I read it in high school toto and didn't get it them. And people thought the drug problems in the world started with the hippies in the 1960's. Read "Metamorphasis" people, I'll bet the farm Kafka was dropping acid in late 19th Century Poland!

On a side note: I ordered the invites last night. Hopefully they will be here next Friday.

Kelli they are beautiful!

Speaking of mistakes: My friend had this wedding. It was really throw together in just over a couple of months. The groom was afraid she would back out and kept forcing her to move the date up. Anyway, she decides to get married at the town center where there is a little park with a nice gazebo. She did DYI invites because her budget was really tight. Only, when the invite came, we weren't to go ot the New Manchester Gazebo, we were to show up at the New Manchester Gaxebo. (To add insult to injury she never felt the need to call and reserve the gazebo for the day so when they showed up to decorate the morning of the wedding they got kicked out by the bride who did reserve the gazebo/gaxebo for the day.)

Wow! That would be terrible!

I not only reserved the lodge for the day of, I've got it the day before for decorating, and thinking about about getting it for the day after. So, there will be NO bride kicking me out of my spot. Of course, the field in front of the lodge, where I plan to hold the wedding, may be a different story...it is a public park after all. But that's what the groomsmen are for...they have to do something! :)

Thanks by the way.

It looks nice and well worded to me :) I have seen people use both sets of parents names many times before, doesn't look like a phone book ;)

I like them. They are beautiful. I am going to word mine somethign like this...

Gwen Dean Moffit ( usingmy maiden name )
&
Nicholas Adma Birchfield

Along with their Parents
wish to invite you etc. etc.

We are paying for it all ourselves and I have my mom and my dad and step mom and then my ex step dad who is still in my life an dhe had just his mom and his nana. So for us I think this wording covers all out bases.
