• If you are planning to break out, take the yolk of an egg and apply it onto the face.
• Have you ever thought that Toothpaste can work wonder on pimples?
• If you have blemish on your face hold a tea-bag on it for a few minutes. This will help reducing blemishes
• Drink at least eight glasses of water each day. People with dry skin must drink even more water.
• Mix baby oil and Epsom salt together, rub all over the body, then take a shower. This mixture makes the skin silky soft for around 3 days.
• Redness from Blemishes is a common problem for sensitive skin. Drench a cotton ball in Visine eye drops. Preferably use a band-aid to keep it on the pimple and leave it on for about 15 minutes. It works perfectly. It reduces swelling.:bbeek:

Sounds very useful!

I must ask, does anyone really "plan" to break out?

Has anyone put toothpaste on their skin before? Wont that burn?

It can sting a bit at first, but it goes away. Works very well though.

yes the toothpaste works wonders. it drys up oils in the pimple and it helps it go away :)

I have some!

* I use Preparation H under my eyes to prevent wrinkles. I saw a lady on Oprah who had done this for like 15 years and there was NO wrinkles! I use it every night!
* I have never tried this but I heard that Catherine Zeta-Jones crushes up strawberrys and rubs them all over her teeth and it whitens them! Something about the anti oxidents in strawberrys makes them whiter!

To whiten my teeth, I do this:

Put about a tablespoon of baking soda into a cup. Pour mouth wash into the cup...enough to make a thin paste out of the mixture. Stir the two together (I just use the other end of my toothbrush).

Dip your toothbrush into the mixture and slop it onto your teeth and brush around. (It IS pretty messy because you drool all over the place. LOL.) Just do the front of your teeth (what you see when you smile) and try not to get too much IN your mouth or on your tongue because, despite having the mouth wash in it, it still tastes pretty gross.

Do this until it's gone. Then rinse out your mouth and brush with toothpaste as normal.

It works!! Even just after a couple of times, I can tell a difference. :frogg:

Cucumbers or squash work well over the eyes to help with puffyness. I have used the tea bags before, and I have always just used the ones after I am done making my tea. I have never tried the preperation H, but I use it for all sorts of other things. I use it on cuts, scrapes, burns and my kids diaper rashes, it was a staple in our house growing up.

Heard another one:

If you have a papercut - put chapstick on it! That will help to take the pain out and prevent infection from getting in!

I've done the egg yolk thing before, it does help your skin a bit :) I actually got the tip from an Indian gal, that said it was the reason so many of her people had clear complexions.

I'll try anything at least once!

Until I got my allergies under control (thank you, Singulair!!!) I would often forget that I had the allergen on my hands and then rub my eyes!!!

Well, you can imagine the disaster that created! It looked like somebody had beaten me, because my eyes swelled up so much that I could barely see out of them, and the other one was swelled shut entirely. And of course they were sore and red and so on . . .

I had heard online that a thick potato slice put on your eyes would reduce the swelling, and since at the time I was away from home and away from a store (I was doing a historical re-enactment) we happened to have potatoes and I thought, it was worth a shot!

I cut the potato, laid down, put a slice on each eye, and within 20 minutes the swelling had gone down enough so that I could see. Within a half-hour, though I could still feel it, people were wondering why the heck I had potato slices on my eyes, because they couldn't see the swelling at all!

Earl Grey or English Breakfast teabags (teas that are black, it's the tannins in them) also help, though not as much as the potato trick. Soak them in cool water and put them on your eyes.

I have to say, from personal experience, that the potato trick works.

Slices of cucumber are supposed to work too. :)
