Finished design

I finished the design of my invites, here is what they will look like. I am going to print them on bright white linen paper and mount it on brown recycled card (kinda looks like a paper bag) and tie raffia around it. What do you think, comments suggestions?

Very pretty! The only question I have is why the location name is set in a bigger font than your names.

IMHO - I would set the location name in the same font size, with the same kerning and it would be perfect.

I think that you have such a great idea in using linen paper, mounting it, and the raffia--it all works rather well. Will you show us when its all done?

Have you considered centering, or moving over a bit, the top icon your name and future husband "danielle and jonathan." It might balance out the middle portion.

Ok, with the suggestions of all the nice ladies on OW and some friends and family, I think I came up with the finish finished design that I am really happy with. Going to get them printed this week and start putting them together. Once I have one finished I will post it.

btw... this is not print quality that I posted so the fonts are not as sharp as they will appear printed.

WOW - congratulations on your awesome DIY - I do this for a living but LOVE to see people get it right on their own too!

I have found the best ideas are always after several edits and your layout is now right on! I also love the linen paper and backing with raffia tie!

One other idea, add another "layer" to add to the look, maybe a shell or starfish charm knotted into the rafia at the front, small and simple, not overpowering your design, just to embellish...

On the other hand if you leave as is you have a wonderful invitation!

Another thought - if you haven't made enclosure cards - rememeber to carry your artwork into that design... Even can put the starfish on the envelope either in return address area or if you print guest addresses on the front also, or watermarked version on front that you hand address over - let me know if you need any ideas or help!

Also, be sure to carry your design into your other printed materials... table signs, menu, program for a great pulled together look!

Just a few thoughts and wanted to tell you great job!

So I promised I would post a picture of my invite once they were done.
I ended up changing the shell, Jon did not like the star fish. So I did a more stylized illustration. I have not finished ... actually started the rsvp, directions, or accomodations yet. Getting there though. :D

I love the font & the new sizing
I thought the starfish was really awkward too, and I think the shell & bow looks much nicer.

It's gorgeous. Will you add an accent color, though?
