My soon to be daughter-in-law is having six attendants! She is hoping to have everyone's hair done at the same place at the same time. She lives in TN but is having the wedding here in Louisville so I am trying to find a place or person(s) who can help us out.
Anyway, my question is how many hours should I plan on having around ten heads worked on??? Nothing too elaborate in style. Is anyone else having a large bridal party or had one?? What did you do about hair??
Thanks!!!

I am having 6 bridesamaids...It depends on the hair dresser(s). I would suggest using two if you can. Our ceremony starts at 4 but pictures beging at 1pm. So we're starting at 8 and we should be all done by 11. We're leaving enough time for an hour/girl. We are also using two stylists! It mostly depends on the hair dressers, what styles the girls want, and if the type of hair the girls have work with the styles they have chosen. It mostly depends on how fast the stylist work or how slow. The stylist you are using will know best on the time needed for all those hair styles I would suggest talking to her. But, Like I said I would highly suggest using two stylist if at all possible.

I am having a total of 8 girls, one is 9 though, in mine...six seems like nothing...considering I have been in 6 weddings and my sister is not even married yet, seemed like the thing to do! HEE HEE! :)
I would find a place that multiple people can do the up-do's...it should be quick, if they go in washed, dried, and ready to go!
If the wedding is far out you should be able to find a place that has at least 4 chairs for the updo's!
Good luck!

I had 5 bridesmaids 1 jr. bridesmaid and a flowergirl, six isn't really all that much. We started on hair at 8 I believe and we left around 11:45 noonish. We had two people working on us. My mom and aunt also go their hair done at the same place the same morning.

I am going to have 11 girls including myself mom and grandma. I am making an appt for my mom grandma and myself at the same salon. I am allowing the girls to go where they would like asking them for their hair in an updo. Trying to avoid unneeded panic and chaos with too many people in one place. Hope that helps.

Since they aren't from Louisville, I would assume they don't have a preference on who it is that does there hair, and I don't know how much she wants to spend, but I would try some place like Z Salon. There was an article in the paper a few weeks ago (I think) about a bride and they had their hair done there and the pictures looked like they were all getting it done at the same time. It might be kind of expensive though but I'm not sure. I can ask a hairdresser friend of mine that is doing my hair how long she thinks it would take. She has never done my hair before, but I will let you know what I think after my first trial. Her salon is on Bardstwon road, if you want her number. You may have a hairdresser in mind though since you live here. :)

Thanks for all the replys! Liz, I live in Oldham County and the shop where I goes closes at noon on Saturdays, which would not work very well with all the folks in the wedding. I will talk with my shop as well and see what they can do for us. Thanks for the offer to help. Let me know what your friend says!!

If you have been going to the same shop for a long time, they might make arrangements to have the girl's hair done after hours, if need be. My hairdresser doesn't work on Saturdays, but she came in on the day of my wedding, just for me :) She also did my sister's hair and my grandmother's hair as well.

I want to say that our hair took about 45 minutes or so a piece. We had 3 hair dressers so all of us got done at the same time, but again, it does depend on the hair dresser.
I would talk to a couple different salons and see what they suggest since they tend to know how long it takes for their hair dressers to do hair.
