That's the coolest thing I've seen in a long time!! I make those ALLLLLL the time...whatever paper is laying around, I make one of those with it. Even gum wrappers! :grinhappy:
With that said, I've NEVER heard them called cootie catchers before! I haven't heard them called anything, actually. That cracks me up!
Dang. Now I kinda want to make some wedding ones! LOL

I thought it might be a fun thing to put on the table, or in a basket during the cocktail hour.

lol... what do you guys call them?
I think it could be a fun ice breaker ... I could put things on it like "tell how you met the bride and groom", "tell a joke" or "make a toast".... if only I could find a template to work for my printer. I could just make one and measure it out.

I call them "...you know those thingies that you make with paper and put on your hand and go like this...." (and then I make the up/down motion).
:grinhappy:
I have no idea what to call 'em! Hehe!
Of course, now I guess I do! Cootie catchers!

Here's one...though not downloadable. But it can give you an idea of the layout.

This is a really cute idea! I made one for a designs class a year ago. We were suppose to design a unique brochure and I did mine as a cootie catcher. Here is the flat image of it: Sorry that it is so big. I tried to resize it in photobucket but it didn't work

Here's another picture of one I found. "We put different instructions on the inside like "kiss the bride" or "get a drink" or "hit the dancefloor". No matter what number you picked, you got a little task to do :)"
You're just ahead of the trend, I guess! I just saw this idea in a bridal mag the other day. It is SO cute that I'm thinking about doing some now too!

What a great icebreaker at the tables! These would be a whole lot better than my guy friends walking around asking "Do you know how much polar bears weigh?"......
..."Just enough to break the ice. Hi, I'm __insert name here__".
(And yes, they really DO say that to start conversations. Ha.)

Thanks ladies. One of my brides maids owns her own variable print business, and she's taken the cooty catchers as her job for my wedding.
She just sent me a draft, and they are going to be so much fun.
I'll take a picture and post them once she gets them printed.
What a really fun idea and thanks so much for sharing this !

LOL glad I could help! I decided not to make them for my wedding, they were not folding the way I wanted them too (I am a bit of a perfectionist), and I couldn't get anyone to help my fold 100 of them. So I did trivia cards about us instead. :)

I'm glad you mentioned the folding. She's bringing them with her when she arrives the Thurs night before our wedding on Sat, and we'll have to fold 140 of them fairly quick. I hope they fold right ! She's gone to so much trouble to print them for me !
Thanks again for sharing the idea. I also sent it to my neice who runs a program for elementary school kids called Jr Drs of Health in Charleston - she plans to use them for questions on good nutrition.
