I don't think I posted it anywhere, that I sold them. So you didn't miss it! LOL.

Sunday we went to visit a friend, who we don't get to see a whole lot anymore. We took our Wii, and he beat Super Mario Bros 3 for us, because we kept dying lol. Him and his brother are Mario wizards lol. So he beat it for us, and we played the whole game again, but that time we had tons of P-Wings to use since we won the game. We then went out to Wendy's to eat lunch, went to the mall and had a DQ...and there was a Shelby GT 500 Mustang! Oooo! I wanted it!

He also took us to the TV station where he's the Chief Meteorologist and showed us around. He showed us the set, his weather lab, and the control rooms. It was pretty cool. I had never been in a TV station before.

Last week my friend, Jamie, and I went into US Cellular because she needed to get her phone fixed. It seems like no one believes us that random stuff happens when its just the two of us, unless we take pics to prove it. So here is a pic of a cell phone man who was outside for a while waving at cars, then he came in and was waving at us. It was funny.

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k243/PoisonBabe84/Mobile%20Uploads/cellphoneman.jpg

...oh and then the other day, she accidently ran over her phone because she dropped it! So she had to get a new one anyway! LOL. That is so her luck.

I was trying to figure out what exactly was so interesting about a cell phone man (thinking that it was just a man who worked for the cell phone company). Then I noticed it was literally a CELL PHONE man and I started laughing! :bblol:

Lol. Yeah, when he was still out by the road, I told Jamie, "watch him come up here and wave at us". Then a few minutes later he was outside the door, looking in and waving, we thought at us. We tried to ignore him lol, and he kept doing it. Then he came in and she wanted me to take a pic of him...so I did!

........I will take a pic of me in my OW shirt today! I will take a pic of me in my OW shirt today! LOL.

Well later we are going to go to Wal-Mart and go grocery shopping! Woohoo! LOL. I am really hungry right now and I'm getting sick of eating the same cereal over and over. There are Cheetos to my left and I'm getting sick of eating them. We have like nothing to eat!...nothing fast that is. I would love to plan out meals and be able to get it ready ahead of time. I usually dread going shopping though because I just know it'll end up on my credit card. Its nice though at Kohls, we get paid every Friday and its direct deposit, so much more convenient! Next week hopefully we won't have to charge groceries, I'll actually work at least 40 hours for once! Arg! LOL...but we need the money. Ok enough venting about that.

I like shopping too and spending money, but I'm starting to hate it because it always goes on my credit card. Chris' two credit cards are almost maxed out, and we are working to pay them off. That is what most of our tax money is going to.

On a more positive note! Chris got a call this morning from Menards saying that he was hired! He can't start the management program until he graduates though, which is in May. He's gonna see if he can start earlier, but not in management. He's really excited about it. The only thing I won't like is that we'll have to move around for a while. But each time he'll get a raise.

Yay for the job! Yeah it's ironic that all of our credit cards got maxed out just as the wedding planning started so we have to be really careful.

I had to charge my dress, which was about $747 and that doubled my credit card at the time. Mine's up to almost $700 again, which is bad for me!

And I just redeemed points on MySurvey.com for $20! Woohoo! Money! Lol. I can't wait to get it! Maybe for once I won't have to charge gas!

YAY about Chris' job!!! That's fabulous! I'm with ya on being a shopping addict...and credit! Thought we stopped using credit a few years ago and are now focusing on paying everything off. It's such a burden!

I wanna see the dress! Is it posted somewhere and I just missed it? :purplex:

It has been posted somewhere, but don't remember where. I'll try to find some good ones on my comp. Most of them that were taken up close are still hard to see the detail. There was a ton of pearls and beads.

Well Chris stayed up til 6:30 this morning working with a friend to get some neon lights on my car. They took the backseat out last night to do some wiring, we have lights inside the car too...and they found a baggie of bullets under the seat! That was really weird. It had to have been from the previous owner.

What else was I gonna say? Oh, I went to the mall with my friend last night. I really hadn't done something with her in over a year. We had a falling out of our friendship of 14 years. I got to see her baby boy finally though. He's really cute! He's 9 months old now. It was fun to actually hang out and talk again, though it was kinda weird. We are gonna maybe do something next week too. Anyway, I got some jeans at JC Penney! Yay! They were on sale for $20. I needed some new jeans anyway!

So we have to go home tomorrow at 8:30am to check Chris' sister back into rehab. She was in for 30 days during our wedding so she missed it. Now she's going back for another 30 days and hopefully it helps more.

Student loan stuff came in the mail last week and my first payment is July 17. Poo! I said at least it wasn't the 7th! Chris said, "yeah then you'll dread that day!" Lol. So that'll be about $170 every month. Which is less than I was expecting so that's good I guess. I think that is supposed to be over 10 years...um...I don't wanna be paying on loans for 10 years! That's crazy!

What else? Oh, I noticed ants in our apartment yesterday, and I have killed a few today. I don't know where they're coming from! I don't think we've had them before. I hate ants. They are so annoying. Arg.

We are going to start packing moving our stuff into the house we're gonna rent during the last week of April. We'll start paying then on May 1, she said we can move stuff in early. That'll be nice, we won't have to move everything all at once. Anyway, off to dry my hair and go to bed!

I am bored out of my mind....lalalalala! Lol. Anyway, we didn't really do anything today, Chris had class, I didn't have to work. We watched some CSI episodes, did some dishes, and now he's watching a movie.

My sister called me a little while ago. She went on some college visits yesterday with her class. She really wants to go to University of Iowa, my mom doesn't want her to. She wants to go to Western Illinois Univ. like we did, but my mom really doesn't want her to! She doesn't want to go to the community college either. I told her then she's gonna have to start applying now for 4 year colleges. I don't think she's going to get very many scholarships, if any at all, besides the one from our church. (She's not one to get really good grades.) I told her that she needs to go to a college that she wants to go to. WIU is a cheap 4 year college (lol when I say cheap I mean like $5000/semester approx). And its only about 45 minutes from home.

Discussing colleges for her isn't a good topic between her, my mom, and I. I'm on my sister's side. My mom doesn't understand. Because there were some dumb things that we had to do here at WIU, being from Iowa even though we were considered in state tuition, we had to "claim" residency here after the first year to get in state tuition, so we just registered to vote here. Small stuff like that made my mom mad. I loved this college for the most part and I know she would too.

Anyway, that's my venting...took a couple minutes of my boredom and now I'm back to it!

oh picking colleges was a HUGE problem in my family too. I am sorry it is a big deal for your family too. I hope everyone can compromise. Its never fun to fight about stuff like that.

Colleges weren't a big deal for me though. I only applied to one 4 year college. My sister is going to do a job shadow at a local radio station that she likes. She's excited for that at least!

Well Kohl's opened today! I didn't have to work. The grand opening is Wednesday. So we went shopping today, my mom, MIL, my sister, and me! I got some clothes to wear to work:

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k243/PoisonBabe84/Misc/100_0941.jpg

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k243/PoisonBabe84/Misc/100_0942.jpg

Two shirts, some comfy pants, for $66.75. I think she did the employee discount wrong because I realized later that it wasn't on there! I'm gonna take my receipt in tomorrow and see if I can get the difference back. That's 15%!

Then I was looking for shoes to go with it, I liked some at Kohls but none of the sizes fit right, so I eventually found some at Target for like $24:

Well my allergies didn't bother me all day! Today at work could've gone better but hey, I didn't know what to expect. When I first went in, the gift registry thing was being weird. Later another associate brought back a customer and said that they wanted to know if they had a skirt in a different size at another store. I didn't know how to check that and I told her, and asked her if she knew who to call to ask. She said, "you just call out, to another store". Well, we just opened, no one knows anything, don't treat me like I'm supposed to know every single little detail! She was rude about it too, luckily there was a manager near so she handled it! Then when my replacement came, it was her first day back there too and she was nervous about doing the customer service stuff (which is what I am), so I didn't clock out until 10 minutes after I was off because I wanted her to feel somewhat comfortable with what she was doing. I hope her night is going better than my day! I work tomorrow 8am-12. Yay...hear my joy?

I'm sorry your first day wasn't great, I hope it gets better! Just a tip, though, and it may not apply, but you should be able to see if another store has something by using the computer. I am assuming you guys have a computer and use the same program we did to return things. I can't remember exactly how to do it, but it's similar to what you do find a UPC if merchandise is missing it, you just have to change the store number to see what they have on hand. It's not always accurate, but it can rule out some stores, b/c I know that it can take FOREVER to get anybody to help you at another store. It doesn't matter that you are from another store, they will still put you on hold! It may be completely different at your store though, so I hope I didn't confuse you any! Anyway, I hope tomorrow goes better :). I always like customer service the best, ecspecially when the alternative was being on the floor!

70707Bride
04-07-2008, 10:08 PM
Thanks for the tip! We probably do use the same program but I wouldn't know for sure! Lol. There's the main menu that has "Sale", "Return", "Customer Service", "Inquiry" and stuff like that. I'll try to look through some of them tomorrow. The manager that called another store said she was on hold for like 15 minutes. When I went in, I didn't know how to get change for the cashiers, I didn't even check out keys until like 5:45 and I was off at 6:30! The other girl that had them was at the the front registers most of the time. I think I did a lot of stuff wrong, but oh well. If no one was there to help me, then I don't care if I mess up! They need a better training system! Anyway, off to dry my hair and go to bed!

Thanks! I only worked 8-12 today, it was pretty boring for the first 1-2 hours. Actually most of the day was boring, but there weren't a whole lot of returns yet for the day. I got to enter email addys for a while! Lol. Most of them had already been entered though so I just checked to make sure. We were told that there would be at least 2 people back there all the time, and there hasn't been. Thanks! Before I got hired, I had only been to a Kohl's once or twice before! Lol. People do need to learn to help, when my replacement for the day comes in, I will tell her how its been going so far, and what problems I have encountered or whatever. As long as it might help them. Yesterday, the lady was nervous because she hadn't done it yet either. And $87 on 11 items is really good! I think most things are usually on sale, I love buying clothes...now I get a discount...not good! But Sunday I went in and bought some clothes that came to like $66.75 (my pants, shirts, and Chris's shirt), she tried my discount and it didn't work, I didn't realize til later. So I took my receipt in today and got like $10 back!

I know! I love saving money! Its just a great thing hehe!

Well, its bee raining all morning here, just one of those days to sleep in and stay inside! I have to take Chris to class in a little bit though then pick him up later. Hopefully that'll be the only thing I need to leave the house for. I was so tired last night so I went to bed before 10 (didn't get to sleep right away but I like to rest). I hate having to get up at 6am to be to work at Kohl's at 8 or 8:30. I have to drive 45 minutes to get there...for just a couple more weeks! We'll be moving home at the end of April. I just went to the Kohl's website, and the shirt that I ordered on there last month (that was on clearance) is cheaper now! I paid like $10 for it and now its $5.40! I should buy another one in a different color! This is it:

When I was buying that shirt last month, there were some jeans on clearance that were cute and less than $10! But they didn't have any in my size of course! I was like, you can't find jeans for $7 anywhere! And the shirt only cost $0.99 to ship, it was a promotional thing I guess, so I don't know how much it would be now, but before I confirm the order it will tell me. So I might do that later! I could buy one in black, red, and maybe blue. I've got a white one. There is a light blue and just a regular blue...which I might get. I'll let you all know if I do! Hehe.

Ok, nevermind...$6.95 to ship one shirt! I should have bought more last month! Poo. However, there are these towels that I want, hopefully Chris will let me get them since we didn't get our towels for the wedding...actually we got 2! One for each of us? Lol...we returned those! Here are the ones I want and they're on sale right now:

When Chris gets out of class at 1:45 we are going to pay our insurance bill and then go out to eat with the guy. Chris has kinda worked for him, but doesn't do a whole lot. So he's a friend and we get discounts on insurance. We are going to eat chicken lips! Yum!

Well work at Kohl's has been okay and not okay. There are just some things that we were not trained on, and then customers get mad at us if we (or I) don't know how to do something. This week I got 32 hours. Next week its 14! I'm kinda glad for that just because I'm getting sick of answering the phone, and dealing with customers if I make a small mistake. Everyone's hours are getting cut starting next week. So I need to look for another job again...a full-time one. There is just nothing around here that I want to do or that is available!

I know someone who works for Dept of Human Services that said they are needing receptionists soon, about $10/hr and great benefits. My mom doesn't think too much about that, but my dad said go for it.

What else? Oh, I did post something in General Chat about Chris' grandpa who has been coughing up blood, has masses/lumps on his lung/breastbone, and bladder, and cysts on his kidney. They have to do more tests to see if its cancer. (He thinks it is) and Chris is so upset about it. We are just taking one day at a time and hoping its in the early stages.

My aunt and uncle and their 3 girls are coming back to visit from OK this week, and are supposed to be back tonight. I probably won't see them a whole lot this time. I work weird hours this week. But hopefully on Thursday we can have a family dinner.

Oh, there was something else I was gonna say but don't remember now!

70707Bride
04-14-2008, 10:50 AM
Oh, I remember now! Chris asked me last night when we were laying in bed when I want our first baby! I was kinda suprised because he said he didn't want any for a few years. He said he wanted his grandparents to be great grandparents, and he's thinking that his grandpa doesn't have a lot of time left...I think they're all jumping to conclusions too fast, but maybe I should take him up on the offer! LOL.

So I'm starting to not like Kohl's as much as I thought I would. Yeah its only the second week that we've been open but the managers are starting to get attitudes now and not wanting to call or come to help when I page them. There is no teamwork. I hate that. Last night was my first night closing the customer service area by myself and I didn't really know what to do. No one was wanting to show me or tell me how to, then they came back and asked if I was done. I said, "no, I don't know what to do so I've just been standing here!". Its so ridiculous. One other lady I work with sometimes told me yesterday that they don't care about training, they just want you to know how to sign people up for credit cards. I hate that too. Arg. I just will not find anything I enjoy doing and that's my luck! I cannot wait to put in my 2 week notice!

I'm really sorry it's not working out!! I HATED the whole credit thing there. I mean I understand the reason they want to open credit cards, but seriously, thay take it to the extreme I think. And it's hard to open them in customer service so I always tried to leave them alone about it. Is there anybody in customer service from another store that could help youw ith stuff? I found that the best people to ask for help with stuff like that are the people that do it, not the managers b/c 1) they don't do it a lot and 2) they don't have as much to gain as the person you will be working directly with, as awful as that sounds. I hope it gets better, since it sounds like you are stuck there for a little while at least! I could try to help, if you have any specific questions, but it's been a while since I've worked there. I might remember some basic stuff though.

About the not being able to find something you enjoy part, have you thought about seeing a career counselor? I was right where you are about 4 months ago, so I totally understand. It sucks. Really bad. I thought about seeing a career counselor b/c I just really had no clue what I wanted to do, but I figured it out after some serious soul searching. Maybe if you think about what job you would do if you could do absolutely anything you will be able to find something similar. Or think about what you enjoy doing as hobbies, and maybe find something similar, kwim? I hope you figure it out, b/c I know how it feels!

70707Bride
04-17-2008, 11:49 AM
I appreciate you trying to help me! One other lady that I work with back there said that someone told her that they don't care about training as long as you know how to sign people up for credit. I think that's bs. She also said that 6 people quit last week, and I said that I didn't blame them! I think I get myself worked up every day I work there because I worry that I'll do something wrong. I've been getting headaches the past few days I've worked. I work today 2-6, only 4 hours so hopefully it won't be too bad today.

Chris told me to go to career services and talk to them. I just haven't had the desire to go, and when I have a day off, I just don't feel like doing anything.

My aunt, uncle, and cousins came back from OK this week, and Chris is skipping his second class so he can drive with me back home. We are going to my grandpa's house (where they are staying) and having a family dinner. That should be fun. I haven't seen them since the wedding. My youngest cousin, Hannah, was our FG.

She's probably 5 now I think, and she asked my sister if we were going to have a baby soon. She said no, because we aren't! Lol. And so then Hannah ran to her mom and said that we were going to have a baby. Then she said to my mom, "So I heard that Jessica and Chris are having a baby."...my mom was like, "What?! No they're not!" LOL. We thought that was funny.

Thanks. We did have fun at my grandpa's. We had spaghetti and meatballs, salad, and strawberry shortcake. Chris accidently called it bread lol. Work was boring tonight but not bad, thankfully. My mom is having a yard sale on Saturday, and we are hoping to get rid of a lot of stuff. I'm not even sure what all we have in the yard sale pile lol, but I won't have time to help price it and everything. It'll be good to get rid of stuff so we don't have to move it again!

Oooh strawberry shortcake is great! Yummy.

I'm glad that work was boring! That's way better than stressful. Yes, get rid of that stuff you don't need! We are trying to do that same thing right now.

Lol. I got up around 9:30 today just because I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. I thought maybe I'd look through the stuff Chris decided on for the yard sale. I haven't done that yet hehe. I balanced my checkbook finally, its been off for a while! So I'm glad I figured that out...I just can't do math in my head I guess!

Oh, and last night I woke up around 4:30 or so and everything was shaking! It was really weird. It felt like an earthquake. I woke Chris up and said, "why is everything shaking?!". I think he was still half asleep because he said, "I dunno..." LOL.

Well we ended up making about $85 at the yard sale! So that was good. Chris parked his truck in the yard because there's been a "For Sale" sign in it for a few months now and only a couple people have asked about it. Well...we still have the truck lol.

Today, we are going to his church, then to his grandparents for lunch. I think I'm going to buy my towels tomorrow! Yay! There is a sale starting today "BOGO Free" on the original price. Its basically the same as what the sale is now because they're half off right now. I don't think I posted this, but a few days ago I ordered 3 more shirts off Kohls.com because they were on clearance. I had already bought one like this last month and I got 3 more in different colors hehe.

We moved a bunch of totes into the house yesterday that we will be renting starting next Tuesday. Hopefully we won't be there long, its decent, but not very nice. They did add fresh paint though. We noticed that the back door had been kicked in like someone had broken in or something. Hopefully they get that fixed ASAP because our stuff is in there now. Other than that, I'm tired, waiting for clothes in the dryer, so I can head off to work to be there by 8. I work a whole 8-1 today. I just want to go back to bed! I'm gonna try to go to bed early tonight and catch up on some ZZZs. Lol.

I finally bought my towels that I've wanted for a while! Today - Saturday are Employee Appreciation days so we get an extra 15% off stuff. These bath towels are currently on sale for $7.49 each from $19.99! So I get my original 10% off plus the extra 15% off. Then (I didn't really want to but...) I signed up for a Kohl's Charge card and got another 15% off. So...

...I got 8 bath towels (which are those BIG ones!), 8 washclothes, 2 hand towels, and a bath rug all for *drum roll* $99.41! my 25% employee discount will be on my statement though so it should actually be less! Then I got $10 for Kohl's cash since I spent over $50. What makes me mad is that if I had bought one more thing I would have got $20 for spending $100! Oh well, I got a great deal anyway. I'm considering getting 2 more of each, and a brown bath rug...I can never decide how many I want.

(Please ignore the mess behind them, we are in the process of organizing everything and its a mess!)

I love blue and brown-our bedroom/bathroom are down in those colors! That's a great deal on them too! I never shopped at Kohl's until I started to work there, but it's hard to pass up such great deals. I actually ended up getting my pots and pans from there like on my 3rd day of work-it was a $400 set I think, either 10 or 12 piece Calphalon non-stick set, that was returned b/c one the skillets was missing, so they were going to sell it for like $200 or something anyway, then I bought it with my %10 discount, then opened a credit card, which I didn't plan on doing either, but it was an extra %15. I couldn't pass it up! I got them for like $100 or something! Sorry for the run on sentence lol.

And about the Kohl's cash-if you buy anthing else doing the days they are giving it away, take your other receipt and they can be combined and you can get your other $10 in Kohl's cash.

You got a good deal on those pots and pans! I love the sales that they have all the time. I had only been to a Kohl's once or twice before I started working there, which I thought was funny. And thanks for telling me about taking the receipt back in. I'll do that!

I'm going to start working in a department soon during the summer, I started off as POS. It's okay, and it makes the day go by fast. But there are 2 stores in our area so we're always busy. So one room is done, and one bathroom is done. We are getting a U-Haul at 8:15 in the morning. Our moms, my gpa and brother are coming over in the morning to help too. It is our last night in our college town, its kinda exciting and sad at the same time, we've lived here for the past 3 years. For so long (and I still do) hate this town, but lately its been kinda nice living here, away from everything and everyone. Well we got moved in! We already had most things packed up so it was easy to move most of it. We packed up our truck, and the Camaro the night before. Then my mom, grandpa, MIL, and brother got to our apartment around 7:30 or so. We got the U-Haul around 8:30. It was a 17 ft one and it was packed. My grandpa's truck was packed, and so was MIL's. We have a lot of stuff! Lol. We got everything loaded and the apartment cleaned by 5pm. We didn't get everything into the house until about 8:45pm or so. Then we went out to eat! We came home with my mom, she was going to help a little more, our screen door was locked! We were locked out and it didn't even have a lock on it. So we were mad, had to find a screwdriver to pry it open. I guess there was a small lock on the inside of it that must have got bumped. Arg.

Then today we didn't have water because they are working on the water line. Everything's a mess.

Ok, so I haven't been on for a few days and I don't know how I've survived! I'm at the library now yay. Lol. We are finally starting to get things where they go in the house. We still don't have internet, obviously.

We are having a garage sale on Saturday so I went down to the paper and we will have an ad put in on Friday.

We saw Chris' grandparents yesterday and his grandpa has to use a walker now because he's too weak. Its weird this all happened all of a sudden. He went to the doctor yesterday and had X-Rays, but this 3 inch mass in his lung didn't show up or something. We found out today after he went to the doc again that he's in stage 4 of cancer so he's basically gonna die soon. Chris stopped there on this way to class today. And when he left he was crying. He hasn't gone through something like this before. But they said he doesn't have that much time left.

Well I'm at the library again, I got a library card hehe. I had one before (they recently built a new library) and changed their rules on what towns around here can get a card. My parents live like 10 minutes away, and that town can't come here to check out stuff anymore. Stupid, I know. But since I'm living in town now, I can! Yay! Maybe it'll help us save a little money from renting movies and stuff...not like we did often anyway. I haven't read for a while either, haven't had time. I'm gonna go see if I can locate some good stuff. I'm so lost in this new building!

The last couple days Chris has spent some time at his grandparents house. I guess a couple days ago he fell in the bathroom and just laid there for 2 hours because he couldn't reach a phone. Apparently he's had lung cancer for 2 years because of the size of it. He has never had symptoms until recently, and then it hit hard. Its just weird how it happened that way.

I told Chris to not feel like he's unlucky or anything for losing a grandparent. All his grandparents got to see him graduate high school, get married, and graduate college. My dad's father died in '89, my sister was born in '91. His mom died in '01, I graduated in '03. And my mom's mother died in '04 suddenly. So I just have one grandparent left.

70707Bride
05-15-2008, 02:39 PM
Ok, so Chris' grandpa starts chemo on Tuesday, but the docs don't think it'll do any good. He said he's not in any pain which is good. He's really going downhill fast.

FIL's hip surgery went well and so him and MIL are on their way home today.

Chris' sister, who is a recovering drug addict has started again. This week we have been trying to take care of her and her bf while MIL was away. Chris has been more strict with her than MIL is. She used her weekly money to buy 10 Vicaden (sp?) and took them all before going to work 2 days ago, then came home and thought that Chris said it was okay that she had one beer. So she went to the gas station, cashed cans in for a beer. She's 26, and can't live on her own without someone controlling her money, so that's what Chris and MIL do. But she gets too much freedom with the money (that's why she's still into pills).

They've tried to get her committed back into rehab, and was denied by a judge. So Chris is trying to find a way to get $8K to put her back in. So everyone's under so much stress right now with grandpa, FIL, and SIL. And Chris started at Menards today, he's going to orientation right now. And I said I'd hang out with SIL's bf so he wouldn't be alone while she's at work. So that's the update with our crazy life.

It would be great to get this position, its a $31,500 a year minimum job. Its pretty good around here. And I have competition...my soloist at the wedding/my parents neighbor is applying for it too! So I still haven't applied for it yet. I was going to type up the answers to their questions. I'm kinda afraid that if I get it, I'll have to do presentations at high schools or something like that. I hate presentations. So I don't know anymore.

Yesterday Chris and his friend, CJ, went golfing and I went with to drive the golf cart lol. CJ went to a bachelors party on Saturday night and went home yesterday morning, walked in and saw his gf in bed with another guy. She had only known him for 3 days apparently. CJ and his gf had been together for a few years. Anyway, he walked out, and that was the end of that relationship. They have been pretty close to over for a while now. She's just been using him anyway. So he was pretty hurt about that.

I really want to get involved with a local music festival that actually starts next week. I should take my resume and cover letter down to the Chamber of Commerce and see if I can get in on it for next year. But I don't know exactly what I could do with it, since its only one week outta the year.

Chris' grandpa got outta the hospital, but will have to go back for more blood. He's still super weak. We have been talking lately about looking to buy a house again since Chris is working full-time now. Also been talking about TTC :grinhappy:. I'm going to FL next May for my sister's chorus trip. Every 4 years they go and perform at Disney. I went when I was a sophomore. I told her a few years ago that I'd go when she went...so now I have to hehe. So nothing has really been going on with us...like usual except this flood thing.

http://forums.onewed.com/showthread.php?t=17414

We are thinking of letting a friend buy our Camaro, and trading Chris' truck off for another car. We have 3 vehicles right now. So last night we drove a Toyota Corolla XRS and a Corolla S, and a Mazda 3. We have just starting to look, not sure what's going to happen.

So I'm not sure if I've said this yet (since I can only get on like 2 or 3 times a week if I'm lucky), but I haven't seen Chris in like 4 or 5 days. Because of the bridge being closed, he's been staying at his grandparents' house in IL and going to work from there. Otherwise he'd have to drive an extra 80 miles a day to get there. So he's got Wednesday off (:)) and he'll be home Tuesday night! But I have got the whole queen size bed to myself...hehe.

Hmm...what else? Oh, a couple weeks ago, I woke up around 6 am and there was something crawling in my hair! Lol. I was still half asleep and was kinda pushing it away, it fell off the pillow onto the ground. I looked and it was our hamster, Bear! Lol. So I had to wake Chris up really fast and then we had to find him again. We looked for like 20 minutes and finally found him in the hall closet just chillin'. He runs fast. Chris had got up shortly before I woke up and its a good thing that he didn't get stepped on! I kept saying that Chris got him out while he was sleep walking hehe. But since then we've put stuff on top of the cage so he can't get out. I know that he's been jumping and trying to stand on things to reach the top. But we've got his cage on top of a dresser...so if he fell I'm suprised he didn't get hurt. He's weird.

He is silly! He sleeps in his outhouse sometimes. We put some things on the lid to weigh it down. It doesn't close all the way anyway, the water bottle hook sticks out the top.

Well Chris is on his way home as I speak! We are going to some open houses tomorrow. He's been talking about trading his truck in and getting another new car. I told him that if we did that, we should find a cheaper place to live! Lol. I'm sick of paying $500 a month for something that won't even be ours. But if we move then we'd have to deal with that. We thought about renting it out maybe to my brother...who needs to get outta mommy's house! Lol. He's 26 for crying out loud!

I keep forgetting to say this too, but we've been married for almost 1 YEAR now! We are going to St Louis July 7-9. His best friend, Matt, who was his BM, and his wife and baby live near St Louis, so we'll visit them too. We are going to see the arch, which I have never seen, and we are going to the zoo! Well its getting closer to our anniversary and trip to St. Louis! Yay!

At work (Kohls) they said we are down on our credit goal for June by over 100, and down by 200 on emails. So I'm creating more emails that I can sign up tonight hehe, and get more $5 off coupons! I've already used 3 of my emails. So I just signed up for another and its at Yahoo! but the choices for the @...... were ymail and rocketmail, as well as yahoo. I thought that was cool so I picked rocketmail lol. I'm sure I'll never use these for anything but the $5 coupon. But its still fun to make new emails.

I'm looking for jobs again, a full-time one. Our area is just so lousy. I saw that David's Bridal is hiring in Des Moines, we should move there! Lol...I could totally work there!

I forgot to say, that starting today July 1, we are going to keep track of everything we spend from now on (we'll see how that works!). We are going to try to stay on a budget.

rocketmail...how cute! I haven't seen that before. Good luck on the job hunt! I'm actually applying at Barnes & Noble tomorrow.

We started off with a budget and then I got busy with helping my dad learn how to pay his bills so Chad took over. My mom took care of bills all his life and then I took over so my dad doesn't know how to do anything. Well, we've started running into trouble because Chad is a rather forgetful and unorganized guy so when he's off tomorrow we are sitting down and going back through everything and getting it all set up right again.

Good luck with your budgeting!!

07-07-2008, 10:15 PM
Thanks. We have actually done pretty good with the budget. Paid the bills first and estimated what we had left for other things.

Well today was our 1st anniversary! Woohoo! We got a late start this morning leaving home...we have been looking at houses, obviously...and yesterday we found one that had only been on the market for 8 days. It was a 2 bed (small) one bath, decent kitchen, and really nice 2 car garage for $69,900! That was pretty cheap for a decent place compared to what we have seen. So we kinda talked about it for an hour or so, made on OFFER! We offered $60K first, they countered $68K, and we said $64K, they said $65,500 was the lowest they'd go. This was all within an hour too! That was crazy. We went to the bank today to try to get approved for it. Our credit is great, but the credit report was messed up due to student loans, some were duplicates so we had to have that taken care of this morning.

They have $2500 grant money for us, and Chris' parents are giving us the other $700 for a down payment. (That is if we get the loan).

So it took like 5 hours to get here to Bellville which is where we are right now, we had to take a weird way due to the bridge being closed for the flood, and then road construction...it was crazy! We are visiting Chris' best friend/best man here. He's in the Air Force so we saw his house on base, and his cute baby, and wife, who we hardly saw for the wedding. We are going to the St Louis zoo tomorrow and the arch. We ate at Red Lobster tonight and are suffed!

We got a room at the Drury Inn with a hot tub...that was fun ;)...and now we should go to bed because we have to get up early in the morning...and we still have cake to eat! Lol. Anyway, this is long so good night!

Well we are still trying to get the loan. We went last Monday actually (our anniversary) to the bank before we left for St Louis, looked at our credit reports, and had to get some things fixed. Our scores are great, but some of our student loans showed up twice on there so we had to call NelNet and have them take that off.

I took pay stubs and tax returns in today and forgot the bank statements. So we should know within a couple days if we got approved or not.

I am going to apply for a full-time office job that was in the paper yesterday. Eh, hopefully I get it I guess lol. I need a full-time job. I don't even know what type of company it is, it just gave a PO Box number. So we'll see what happens with that.

So we closed on the house yesterday, ugh...lots of signing to do! Lol. I'm going over there today to start cleaning...going to kidnap my sister so she can help me and I think MIL is going to help too. I've kinda picked out colors for the rooms, still unsure about the kitchen! I'm going to take pics of the house today and hopefully post them by next week.

There were 3 jobs in the paper Sunday that I'm probably going to apply for. One has actually been in there for about a week, but its a legal file clerk. That shouldn't be too hard if its just filing. I filed a little at my mom's bank during the busy January times when I was in high school. Another jobs is sales associate at a fairly new furniture place. It said Bachelors degree required, dunno why, but I've got one so I am more qualified in that sense than a lot of people around here. The other is a loan processor at a bank that I've never been to lol. So I need to pick up an app there, or maybe I'll just send my resume. I hate going to pick up applications. Anyway, so that's what's going on here!

I feel bad that I've gotten way behind in other people's journals but I just don't have time right now. We should be out of our house current house by the end of the month, and we are going to get internet again! Yay!!! LOL. So I should be on a lot more then.

Thanks! Its not the most wonderful house ever but when we move again we are going to rent this one out. We were so sick of wasting money renting! Lol. But of course I forgot the camara again and we are going there after we leave the library, but I am going to clean the carpet tonight, and we might start tearing down the panelling. We will put up drywall so it looks nicer.

So I'm stealing internet from the new neighbors hehe. We were going to get internet when we moved in but since it works for free, why pay for it?! LOL. Anyway, so I'm here at the house. I am going to finish cleaning the carpet. Ugh, its just so dirty! I had to dump the water like every half room and its the color of the Mississippi River! Lol. I don't think these people every cleaned anything. They sure didn't clean anything when they moved out. There was hair all over the bathroom counter. There's hair in every room. The sad thing is, I don't think they even had pets! LOL.

In other news, I applied at a furniture place that's hiring for sales associates. He's doing interviews this week and next and is going to hire 1 or 2 people. I also need to take my app back to the bank for that loan processor job. I kinda hope I get that one instead of the sales one. That guy just seemed weird.

Oh and we sold Chris' truck last night. We had put it in the paper. It was kinda sad, it was a nice truck and he had extras on it. But we needed to get credit cards paid off. He's trying to sell his Camaro too, and wants to buy a newer one or a Firebird.

Congrats on the house! I know cleaning up someone else's mess is GROSS, but in the end, you'll have a fresh new house to personalize and make your own. We're in the process of painting our master "suite" (all 200sq ft of it -haha) and it's a pain in the butt! but it's worth it!

That's smart about making sacrifices to pay off debt. It'll feel really good when you don't have that monthly payment.

Ok so I'm at the new house waiting for Chris to get home so we can go get paint! Woot woot! I'm going to prime all the walls first before painting. And I finally took some pics of the house.

Here is the view of the dining room and living room from the kitchen. The little room to the right is the pantry.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k243/PoisonBabe84/000_0203.jpg

This is just a little room off the kitchen going to the deck in the back of the house. We will use this sliding door as our main door because the garage is back there. We will put our deep freeze in this room.

Kitchen obviously. They left their fridge, washer and dryer, microwave and stand here. We are going to put the washer and dryer and probably the microwave in the garage so when we rent it out (the plan as of now when we move eventually) we can just put it back in there.

The second bedroom is really ugly. Its the ugliest room I've ever seen. But its pretty small and the people before us used it as a bedroom and the bigger room as their comp room. Its the opposite for us. We are tearing out the carpet and putting laminate wood floors in. We put putty stuff in the paneling cracks so we can paint over it.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k243/PoisonBabe84/000_0211.jpg

This is the closet in there. It has some wire shelves in there that were gross to the touch. And there's a weird little door in there too. Its kinda creepy but there's a little more space back in there.

Thanks! Yeah the closets are weird.

My mom and sister came over tonight after she got her senior pics taken. We put a second coat of paint in the living room so that's done except the base boards. Yesterday Chris finished painting a first coat in the bedroom. My mom finished around the edges and tomorrow we are hoping to get that room done. I love the living room now! The paint looks great.

My sister's pics were so fun. She's into movies so she brought her DVDs and we let her borrow ours to use in pics. So she had all those with a Hollywood poster in it too. She was buried in DVDs and you could just see her head. Lol. Then she did a Harry Potter theme where she brought her Quiditch robe that my mom had made for her a while ago and her Clean Sweep broom lol, and books, etc.... Those were funny pics. He did some pics where she was sitting on a box on her broom and had a fan blowing on her so it looked like she was flying. I think I was just as excited about it was she was!

Thanks everybody! We went to pick up her pics yesterday and I was so excited lol. They turned out great. He added some stars around her pics of her flying her broom and made her hair look like it was blowing in the wind more than the fan made it look. I dunno if I can post them on here. I'm probably not supposed to because they're copyrighted by him but I might post a few for a short time to share them then take them off.

My parents came over day to finish the bedroom and the living room. My dad painted the ceiling in the bedroom yesterday. Its a gray color, not too dark but I like it with the purple. He painted the base boards and around the windows that color too. My mom painted the ceiling in the living room a "popcorn" color. Hehe. That's what its called. I picked it for the dining room area but it looked more yellowish tan in the pic. Now that its on our walls it looks lighter. I'll take some pics tomorrow during the day and post them on here.

I wanted to go to a Gibbs Brothers show tonight (local band). Its going to be one of their last unplugged shows in town for a while. Brandon, the guitarist, is going to do some shows with John Corabi of Motley Crue and Ratt. So that's pretty cool. But I'm not going to the show tonight. I ran out of concert buddies. My friends always poop out on me and Chris is jealous of them and doesn't want to go anymore. So I haven't really seen them hardly at all this year, which is odd for me.

They are playing in Houston on Aug 30 at the Meridian.
Oct 11 they are playing in Atlanta, well Brandon is with John Corabi at the Red Light Cafe. It would be so fun to travel that far just to see them. If I wasn't married I would with a friend. Hehe.

I'm really excited about how the paint turned out in here. The purple is called Vineyard Point, and the ceiling is a gray called Empire State. We got all the paint at Menards. Chris gets a discount hehe.

There's a bunch of outlets there along the wall. That's why the people before us used it as an office. I still need to paint the closet. I'll paint it the Vineyard Point probably. We have a little left over so I might have to get some more. There's linolium on the shelves in there lol, for some odd reason. But there is no bar to hang clothes on so we probably will take out the top shelf and put one in. I also thought it'd be neat to put tile on the shelves after ripping out the linolium.

I am so ready to get outta that house! Lol. I was afraid that Chris wouldn't like the purple, but he does. There was a 4-color scheme in a pamphlet from Menards. That Vineyard Point, Empire State, then a darker gray, and black. Well I was just in love with all 4, they looked good on paper together, and our bedroom furniture is black and chrome...so that's the black in our color scheme!

Yeah, I had never seen an ice cream truck until I moved into the city and the music really creeped me out...yet I think the music also lured me to the truck so I guess it's doing its job!!

Lol. My mom saw one all the time when she was little. I didn't even know they had ice cream trucks in this town.

Well Chris has been bugging me for the last couple weeks about getting a big screen TV, and so I told him to get one and stop bugging me about it! He got a clearance one and its a 50 inch!

Lol. Yeah I suppose. Now he's bugging me to get a $500 sound system while its on sale! I keep saying that we're never gonna get credit cards paid off the way he spends money! I thought our goal was to get them paid off by the end of the year...well that's out the door! He works 1-7 today so I'm trying to go through some stuff in the garage (our massive amount of totes that are full!) and get some stuff put away. He said his parents might come over to bring stuff for a garage sale and stuff for city wide cleanup or something. Great, more poo to fill the garage! I just hope FIL doesn't come over, he gets on my last nerve.

Well I applied for another job yesterday, at a car dealership! Lol. I saw it listed online for sales positions. I figured hey why not? What have I got to lose but 2 "poopy" part time jobs? I might call back tomorrow, Chris wanted me to today, but that's what I hate about applying for jobs is calling them back! But we are looking for another car too, so it would be perfect! Chris' friend has a friend that might buy the Camaro. So that would leave us with just my car since we sold his truck a few weeks ago too.

We went out to eat tonight with the ILs. Now we are home, I'm tired and Chris is painting a model car that he's going to put together lol. We might watch an episode of CSI and go to bed.

Well I called the car dealer back this morning and ended up leaving a message and that he could call me today after 5 or tomorrow before 5 blah blah...and he just called back! I have an interview Tuesday at 10 am! Woot woot! I'm actually pretty excited about it. I think if I get on there, I'd have so much motivation just because I finally got a fulltime job! LOL.

Oh, and on another note, I got 7 tshirts a few days ago at Kohl's for just over $15 with my discount! The secret...they are clearance and they are boys shirts! LOL. I had to put them on hangers and was like, wow $2.40 each?! I got one in just about every color, all but white. They are just plain Reebok tshirts. And if you didn't know that they are boys shirts, you wouldn't ever think anything of it!

09-05-2008, 06:13 PM
That is funny about the t-shirts! I used to do the same thing when I worked at Mervyn's in college - except with jeans! The boys jeans always fit great and were way cheaper! Too bad I can't fit them anymore! LOL!

Lol, the only time I can "shop" while working is when I'm clearancing things or hanging things. Since I'm back at the service desk all by myself, people usually bring me something to do!

Well my mom had her biopsy today for the lump in her breast. Dunno the results yet, but she's worried that its cancer and she'll have no hair in May when we go to FL. I'm just trying not to think of it because there's no point in worrying about it so much until you know what it is...at least that's what I'm thinking now! Lol, trying to stay positive!

Well since its been raining like everyday and all day long, our basement flooded, at least a few inches. So we are kinda busy trying to pump that out. But the hose isn't long enough to reach the street or anything so its just gonna go right back into the ground and right back into the basement!

Ok, I haven't been on here for a while. Nothing's really new I guess, still looking for a job, applied for a temporary teller positon at a bank that I don't bank at lol. Just called back today and had to leave a message. I just hate doing that.

Chris finally got transfered to Menards here in town. So he doesn't have to drive 2 hours everyday which is awesome! Gas has been going down too, its $2.89 here right now yay! Lol. He's kinda looking for another job though. This one isn't as great as he thought it would be.

I understand completely about the job hunting situation. Hope you're able to find something soon. Great that your hubby got transferred, though. A two hour commute couldn't have been fun.

Ok, so of course right when I got to work yesterday the guy at the bank called back, left a message, and I listened to it on break. He said that something happened last week and after they started running the ad in the paper, someone had decided to go back to the bank that had worked there previously to take that positon. Well that's just great! Now I'm still in search...I'm thinking joining the "Steamboat Days Committee" (Steamboat Days is an annual week long festival on the riverfront where they have a different band every night). I wanted to work with the city or whatever to help with music/entertainment here. So I thought that maybe joining that committee would open some doors. I told Chris about that, and he said he doesn't care if I try it but I still have to work at least 30 hours a week.

I should work 40 between both my jobs, but he knows I hate both of them so he doesn't make me work that much... :)....well I'm off to another fun day at work *sarcasm*. I worked 6 hours yesterday and I swear it was the longest day ever! Today I work 6.5! Eek! Lol. Its soooo boring there.

70707Bride
10-15-2008, 08:35 PM
So I still haven't been getting on here as much as I used to. Nothing's really new here. We are having another garage sale this Saturday, my mom's bringing a bunch of clothes down that we had when we were kids. Lol. She kept them for my younger cousins. Now she just needs to get rid of them!

My sunroof is leaking again in my car. It rained all day today. So we need to get that adjusted again...and of course the warranty is up.

I'm still looking for a new job. There's a bank here in town that's looking for a loan processer again. They were a couple months ago and I applied. Didn't get it and thought about calling them back this time. But then I keep thinking, do I really want to do all that paper work? Lol. There's a bank in another town near here that needs a personal banker. I think I'd rather do that. So I might apply for that one.

70707Bride
10-19-2008, 05:51 PM
I really should clean the house some more instead of playing on the comp. Our house is still a mess from moving in a couple months ago. Chris told me yesterday that there was 2 free dogs in the paper and he said I could actually have one! One was a shizu and the other was a beagle mix. Well the shizu is already taken, not sure bout the beagle. But he said that when we get the house clean then I can get a dog if I want! I want a small dog, not too picky about what kind. We might go look at the animal shelter for one so we can at least save one from being put down. That's just so sad.

The place where we had our reception has been closed for several months now due to the flood (its right on the river front). We weren't even sure if it was going to reopen because of the cost of replacing everything again. In '93 there was a flood that was worse than the one this year. Anyway, so they are having a job fair on Wednesday because now they need all new employees. Well, I've been thinking of going to see if I could maybe get a job as a full-time hostess. I think its pretty sad, I have a Bachelors degree and have poopy jobs. Oh well. Nothing here for me so might as well try for something fulltime. I still haven't appllied for that personal banker position. I just dunno what to do. I might go Wed, because I have nothing to lose I guess.

10-22-2008, 05:25 PM
Well I went to the job fair with my sister at the restaurant that we had our reception at. Like I said it was closed for this summer due to the flood. We just filled out the apps and talked to her a little bit. My sister is looking for her first job so I really hope she gets it. The lady though was like, "you look really familiar! I never forgot a face". I said, "well we had our wedding reception there last year on July 7!" LOL. She said, "oh that's right!" Hehe. So hopefully that's a plus! And she was talking to my sister about school and stuff because she's also from the same town we are ( small town, so you know how that goes). I also hope that's a plus for her.

I was kinda dreading going though, I wasn't sure if I should. I am needing a full time job, so I applied for hostess full time. People at work were acting like it would be dumb of me to go there. I dunno why. But for this past week, I've felt like if I did, they'd make me feel worthless or something. But I don't care, how is it dumb to find a job with more hours, and steady hours? They're dumb hehe.

But anywho, Chris said if I didn't go, then we could go to the pound and look at doggies! I went though, so we'll have to go maybe tomorrow or next week and look.

Thanks Val.

He got loose again this morning. He's been gone for about 3 hours now. I chased him for a few blocks, then gave up and went back to my car. I had just got up too, and was not feeling good about going out of the house like that either! Lol. He wouldn't even come back to me. He's just too excited when he's out running. I came home took a shower, got ready, and walked around for a while. I told a couple neighbors so they can look for him, and saw a cop and let him know.

Its worse this time because he's not even supposed to be running around and getting excited. He had a heartworm treatment a few days ago and she said to keep him calm for a couple weeks...yeah right. So that's what I'm worried about. One neighbor said that she had a beagle once and he got loose, and that night he just came home on his own. Hopefully Bo does. Its hard looking for him by myself. Chris is working til 5.

How often is he outside alone? Most vets recommend that dogs who are going through HW treatment go outside on a leash to prevent them from running. Hounds are notorious for escaping, since they will follow most any scent they pick up. I hope he comes back soon! Does he have a microchip or ID tag in case someone finds him?

The animal shelter finally called me around 3 yesterday and said a cop had turned him in. So I had to go get him, pay $25 just to take him out of the shelter, which is dumb, and I also had to wait for the cop to come back and write me a ticket for animal at large. So now I have to go to court tomorrow for that. That's my first ticket for anything, but there was nothing I could do. Chris finally got down to the court house today to register him, but they didn't give him a tag with our info on it like he thought they would. I wanted to get him one a long time ago at Wal-Mart or somewhere because you can make your own. He wouldn't let me spend $5 to make one because he thought he'd get one at the court house. So I'm really mad about that. I might go make one today.

He got a new hook that he put on the chain because the other one is not very secure at all, that's how he got loose the first time! And this one is one of those kinds that screws together. So it'll take longer to put him out, which I don't want to do now until we get a fence or something. I'd have to use both hands just to screw it together. I tried to make it reach a little farther than the door so I could bring it inside, close the door, and put it on him. But of course its a little short.

I'd put him on a leash and take him outside but he doesn't pee or anything right away. He was out for like 10 min this morning, wanted back in, and Chris was in the shower then. When he got out, there was poop and pee on the kitchen floor!

I'm just really irritated right now. But at least he's home.

Happy happy court day! *sarcasm* Hopefully they'll just write off my ticket. Its not like it was intentional and I opened the door and said, "there you go Bo, run away!". Some people just let their animals run wild because they don't care! Arg.

Ok, so I have an interview Monday at a bank for a full-time teller positon, but its temporary. I have an interview Wednesday at the bank I go to for a part-time teller float. And I'd rather get the part-time one, however my mom works there too and the rule used to be no other family members could work there too. She said that there's a lot of people now who have kids that work there...odd... My dad just called me a little bit ago and said that he was looking through the classifieds in today's paper and saw that our church needs a part-time secretary. I'm totally applying for that tomorrow! That would be such a great environment to work in, and I've gotten scholarships there and everything. I think I have a good chance with that. So wish me luck!

Well never heard anything from the part time jobs. But I have an interview today at 11 for that restaurant we had our reception at. She called yesterday, and the only thing I applied for was a full-time hostess. She was acting like it would be full-time, Mon-Fri, pretty much a set schedule. So I was excited about that. Now I'm kinda like, "yay...an interview for another crappy job." I just really don't know what to do right now. I hate the jobs I have. Need something better and full-time. Kinda want to move away now, but we just bought this house, and I would also like to stay. So I dunno.

Wow, I haven't updated for a long time! Lets see...what's new?

We just ordered a new camara (because I wanted it!) and it should be here any day now! I'm totally excited about it!
Bo is getting fixed on Thursday (yay! no more humping...hopefully)
We are almost done with the closet so I will post pics, Chris is in the process of putting the laminate wood floor in.
I just met a 3rd cousin that lives in Sweden today on Facebook! She was doing geneology or her mom was, and she found my sister on Facebook. How random!
Chris put up some of the glass shelves (finally) in the living room. Of course he did it when I was at work, and so its not exactly what I wanted. I'll take a pic and show you.
The Camaro is put away for the winter (bye bye, see ya next year!) and we got another car from his friend's parents for $600 that he can drive in the winter. Its nothing to brag about but we are going to trash it. Hehe. More on that later.
Christmas shopping isn't done quite yet, but we put our tree up a couple nights ago.
I have been dipping pretzels, making cheesy ranch Chex Mix (its a new recipe on the box, try it its good!) and making haystacks, or chocolate stix.

Ok, I had an interview yesterday for the art guild in our town for an administrative assistant position. I was so glad she called, it had been a couple weeks and I was starting to give up on that one. But it went well I guess. It was kinda awkward because she was kinda weird! Lol. She just keep going on and on about the art guild and a few things I'd have to do, blah blah blah. And then she'd start talking about random things. Lol. She hardly even asked me anything! And she kept saying, "whatever" and "um yeah" when she was talking, and said she didn't know what to ask. I thought that was odd. But hopefully she calls me back to talk to a board member!

Oh, and I had an accident yesterday resulting in the need of a new phone! Hehe, I dropped my phone in the toilet! I forgot it was in my sweater pocket and went right in the toilet! My friend did the exact same thing a few years ago. I called my mom (on Chris' phone lol obviously) and told her, she was pretty mad because I've been bugging her for a new phone since my screen would randomly turn black. My sister and I can get new phones now anyway, we had the Moto Razr. She kept saying that she didn't have the money right now to get my sister's phone, well then let me pay for it! But I told her I didn't want to wait another 5 months to get one. So...we are going out to US Cellular when she gets off work to get me one! Yay! I want to LG Rhythm! I want it I want it I want it!

On another note (this is getting long)....

Chris' car that he bought from a friend to drive for the winter wouldn't start this morning. So he had to take my car. Great, I'm stuck at home, without a phone! Thankfully he gets off work at 2, maybe before, and I slept til 10:30 hehe. I guess I might just bake something again. Maybe dip some more pretzels.

So last week I got a letter in the mail saying that I wasn't qualified for the admin assistant position at the art guild. Meanies! I hate how jobs say "no experience required', blah blah blah, "will train", they won't. And I believe that you do need experience. Its not fair. I can't get any office job I've applied for because I don't have experience. I'm doomed.

Its stupid. You need experience for the job, but no one will hire you FOR the experience! I wish you luck. :(

Thanks. I'm trying to be hopeful for '09. I was thinking again today about going back to the comm college here in town in the fall for an associates degree in office mgt or accounting.

So I thought I should post something on here to update....

I'm still job hunting, MIL talked to someone who works for the local school districts and said that I should try to be a sub since I have a B.A. degree, I wouldn't have to do anything for it. There will also be some secretary positons available soon I hope and that I should apply for them. I would have to take a typing test, which I'm not worried that much about. Chris said I should be totally fine for that since I'm always on the comp and I text so much on my phone lol. So I think I'll check into the secretary positions, not sure about the subs, but since I have a B.A. I guess its something I could always do.

Chris said that Obama is supposed to make available more money for small businesses so he will try to look into starting his own business. I hope it all works out, he's excited about it and has always wanted his own business.

Ok, so I'm going to talk to the guy today about the job. The teachers assistant is only for the rest of this school year, and then there is supposed to be a secretary job available. He said the only way I can apply for that is to go through the teachers assistant first. I just hope I don't have to sub! I just don't know if I'd feel comfortable doing that.

I haven't been doing a good job of keeping this updated. What's new? Um...well my goals for this year are to get organized and stay organized, and to lower our debt. I just added Chris to my credit card and he's trying not to use his two cards. He's going to cut them up, and I told him I'd add him to mine so that way we get more points (I have a rewards card). And with one credit limit instead of 3, it'll be easier to not charge so much.

aww jessica your dog bo is so cute :)

i hear you on the gas/electric bill. Just my gas bill alone was over 180 dollars the most it has ever been since we lived here. I am thinking just cuz its been so cold lately (in the negatives with the windchill) so i adjust the temperature to be a lil lower, now i am freezing LOL
my electric bill is higher then normal cuz the hubby is home all day long so I expected that to go up a lil bit

how is the job hunt going? are you going to try the teaching job?

Our heat is set on 68 and that's cold for me! Our house is not insulated very well and the kitchen is really cold because we have a sliding glass door. Still job hunting, not sure about the teaching thing. He never called back. I told Chris last night that we should start looking for jobs in other areas, like not around here. There's so many things we want, and if we stay around here, we are doomed! Lol. I'm thinking Des Moines or St. Louis. I just don't know how to find jobs in what I want. I'm not good at that.

Once again I haven't posted on here for a while. Lol. Well I'm just sitting here dreading work today. No luck still with job hunting. Chris is still talking with friends to get a car biz going. I really hope it works out for them because it'd be fun. But then we will have less chance of being able to move somewhere if we wanted to. I'm kinda wanting to go back to our comm college for their 2 year graphic comm degree. I probably won't be able to though. I hate being poor! Lol. I'm stuck in a rut with my lame jobs.

My dad got laid off for this past week at work. Now he's not sure if he'll even be able to go back. There's a lot of places around here laying off temporarily. This town is just horrible.

On a better note...I shredded one of Chris' credit cards today! I added him to mine and then he's going to cancel his when they get paid off. American Express, the one I shredded, raised his interest like 2.5% or something like that. I also told him that it'd be better to have one credit limit, instead of 3 because then we are more limited on how much we can charge. He's got 2 cards. Just figured out today that we have just over $10K on our credit cards. Arg.

Lol, I don't think I should vent all of it on here. But lets just say, I'm starting to realize some things. Been married almost 2 years...wow. And honestly I'm kinda scared to still be with him another 2 years. I just don't feel the same as I did 2 or 3 years ago.

Idk what's new, um...I have 3 part time jobs now haha. I still work at Taco Bell and Kohls. Just got a job at FYE (music store), so I only work at Kohls on Mondays now. I wanna keep my discount! Not really looking for a full time job anymore, around here. I just need to get out of this town and find a job doing what I went to college for. I don't think Chris is into moving though. He'd be perfectly content staying in this town forever, in this house forever, and with his job forever. I just don't know how much longer I can deal with it. Lol... Ok sorry I'm venting now. He wants to stay here at least another 3 years or so. I am NOT happy about that.

Since around March I've been feeling like we got married too soon. Like we should have waited longer. Because I always planned on moving right after graduating and getting an amazing job. Its been almost 2 years since I graduated and I don't have anything worth bragging about. I've come to the conclusion that I need my dream job to be happy. He thinks I should just compromise and be happy with him and what we have. I'm sorry but I can't do that. I have dreams and goals in life and it doesn't involve staying here. He doesn't understand how much I love music and wanna work with it and be around it constantly.

I told him that if I had my dream job, which is basically a band manager, he wouldn't be able to handle it. He complains and gets jealous whenever I go see my favorite local band. He said I was right, he wouldn't be able to handle that, me being in that environment all the time (around other guys/musicians). So it makes me think what am I even doing with him?! Idk what to do at all. All this stuff has been on my mind the last few months and its not getting any better. We've been butting heads a lot lately and not talking a whole lot. I just don't know anymore.

Ok, thanks for reading...I had to get that out!

I am sorry to hear this. In order for a marriage to work priorities about jobs, kids, and goals need to mesh and it doesn't sound like they do. Is there any way of a comprise? Is a city in driving distance where you could find you dream job but still live in your house? Have you tried marriage counseling? I wish you the best and hope you can work out what is best for both of you.
