I'm too lazy to use the search function right now - has anyone done something like this? I LOVE this idea (especially since we're doing the tango-theme wedding)!!!
I think I'm going to DIY these!! I've already been hole-punching and trying to figure out how to tie 'em. :grinhappy:

Found them here (http://www.theweddinginvitation.co.uk/design_soho.htm).
(I LOVE the second one - the red ribbon is just beautiful!!)

You could try searching "corsets" and see what you can find out to make them. Plus it would probably show you all sorts of designs for the ribbon. Very cool idea though, I've never seen invitations like this before.

Treasia does these ... check out her blurb here in the announcement section.

With that said, I just checked the thread and the pic of her corset invites is missing. Here it is, lifted from her site -

Yep, I was going to say that Treasia did them! I had my heart set on these and starting trying to make them then I found some ready made invites that I thought were better for my wedding. Plus, I couldn't make mine look as good as hers. lol. Or any of the other ones that I've seen. Good luck with yours!!!

The corset type invites are definitely pretty and I think it can be done as a DIY project. However, it will take alot of hands on work (folding and lacing each one). So if you have alot of invites it may be a bit time consuming and overwhelming.
I know I'd probably get tired of doing it after about 10 ;)

It's not as bad as I originally imagined. Though, I've already called one of my bridesmaids and told her she has a lot of work to do for me. :grinhappy:
Thankfully, she's excited about it!
I am still working on the design I like, but I'm thinking it'll be something like this one (one of my mock-ups). I like the black peeping through. The actual invite will slide out the top.
This is with cheap paper and ribbon, though...the final will be put together better. And with a bow on top instead of the knot that's there now. :D

I thought I'd commented on Treasia's design, but I guess my computer at it. Yours are super cute, too!! LOVE the paper on those!

Just wanted to keep this updated as I go.
The corset-back cover is coming along. We decided we liked black paper with white showing through...and a red ribbon. I've been working on the insert and here's what I've come up with.
Comments? Ideas?

I love that...the format is really great. And y'all are super cute together, by the way.

:D Thanks!
I'm still on the fence about the '06/01/08' in the middle there - it kinda was an afterthought. Is it too much? I can take it out...or spell it out 'June 1, 2008'...or... ?

I would spell it out because it just may be confusing to some. Some Canadians number out the date by day/month/year so, it could be read as January 6, 08.

Ok....I changed the date. And I also made the '&' symbol red since there will be red carried over from the outside.
Here are the invites so far:

The folder layout :

(which will be kept closed with a red wax seal)
And the cover:

(the bow will be nicer - accidentally cut this one too short! LOL)

Ok....some of these aren't the best pictures....but here's my DIY step-by-step for both the corset covers and the folder invites.
Hope all this makes sense. Please ask if I've missed something!
(And sorry about the size on some...it wouldn't let me post full size)

They look very nice, and I must say it is not difficult to DIY them. Now you just have to find the right colours you like and materials... good luck and I hope everything goes well for you!!!

I'm just now seeing this one too! (I've been SO busy lately I can't get online!)
Of course you can use my cupcake pictures!! :frogg:
And thanks! I've changed the inserts of my invitations several times....and even a few more times since this post. LOL The corset part looks the same though. I'll have to take more pictures and show what they look like now (though I doubt they're 100% finished still! eheh!!).
Anyway....thanks for the compliments! I'm so excited to finish them all and be over with them, actually. I keep changing my mind! (And so does FH) :bblol:
