Both my dogs are spooked by storms, fireworks and other loud and/or sudden noises. My boy Enzo seems more so though; like tonight, both were resting on the couch when it started raining. Then the thunder and lightning started and that was the end of that. They both ran into the office where we were, Roxy hid under my desk where her snuggle sack bed is, and Enzo got right in my lap.

Roxy is now resting calmly in the snuggle sack, while Enzo sits here shaking in my lap as I type this :( I am dreading the fireworks this week!

So anyone else have dogs that are scared of storms and such?

Summit isn't scared of storms, though she does bark at fireworks. Our other golden (who passed away and is sadly missed) was scared of storms or anything loud. I felt so bad for her, she had a bad leg which is why she would really come upstairs unless Doug carried her. Unless there was a storm, she would go upstairs with all her might to lay down on by the side of the bed near the closet. poor thing.

When I was a teen, we had 3 big dogs...a german shephard, a collie, and a st. bernard. Our german shephard was absolutely terrified of storms and gun shots. The only time he would try to get in the house (he wanted UNDER Mom and Dad's bed) was if it was storming...or during hunting season!! LOL

Have you ever heard of cats being afraid of storms?? I never had until the cat we have now, Socks. She hates storms. She will always claw at the basement door until we let her down there if it is storming. Too funny!!

My dog growing up was afraid of storms. Everytime it would thunder, he would run into my room and pull the blankets off my bed and hid under them. Even if I was in bed at the time! He was fine with fireworks though. Of course we never had any that close to the house that they were really loud.

WE used to have a dog Ebony who was soo scared of fireworks and storms that at the first sign of a storm we had to sedate her and put her in the kennel. She used to DIG herself out of any place. We came home after school one day to find a huge hole in our den because she was trying to hide from the storm, it is just awful. Poor little things!

Both of my girls are scared of bad weather. I went outside this morning and they were both in the same dog house! It's not like they're small dogs...they're labs. They're so cute though, big babies! I hadn't even thought about the fireworks that will be going off soon...they will bark at them allll night long.

my dog is not scared of the weather but my cats are to big ole wussies. it stormed here last night and they kept me up all night prowling into everything and trying to stay snuggled up together. it would have been no big deal if they would have just crawled into bed with me and been done with it. lol.

Aww, my poor doggie when we were growing up used to go hide next to mom whenever there were storms.. 'course, he usually followed everywhere anyway.. hence the name, Shadow. lol He was half border collie, half sheep dog. Mutts are the best doggies ever XD
