Hello everyone! We FINALLY got the internet at our apartment!! I haven't been able to talk to you guys for about 10 days, and even then it wasn't for very long. I feel like I have been in withdraw!

Ok. For an update on my life, not much is going on. Cody has been working away and I have been here at home, trying to get the Thank You's out. I have them all done and sent out, except for a few that I don't have addresses for yet. I have been waiting to get the internet to start looking for jobs. I have been unsuccessful so far with snagging anything. I would love to go freelance and do freelance graphic design from my home. I know that I am capable of doing it, I just need to get my feet wet and started. The place where Cody works might have me do a brochure for them, so that is awesome! They are a fairly big company that builds parts for John Deere. I am excited to get started, and ready to start making some money! So if you or anyone you know needs design work, let me know!! I will def cut you a deal!!

Married life has been faily decent. When we got home from the honeymoon, our apartment was super warm (we didn't have air yet) and it was cluttered and messy as could be. I was depressed as hell and kind of missing my parent's house. I was really bummed for a while and it was kind of a slap of reality. But I am doing good now and really love living with Cody (even though I lived with him before we were married! shh!)! He is such a sweetheart and everything I want! I have attempted cooking some, and haven't done too bad. lol! I am still a work in progress.

We are excited to start having kids, but we are at least going to wait until I get my feet started in a job and hopefully find a place to live that is nicer than the apartment. If I can, I will post pics of the apartment sometime, but it is nothing much. It is fun to "work on it" for right now anyways!:D

In other news, we just got cable and high speed internet today! Woo hoo! Finally! Some decent TV and I can be with my girls on here again! And I have started rollerblading again. I used to a lot in my first two years in college and really love it, but just haven't had the time or decent roads to go on. It is nice to get out and feel like I am doing something good for my body. Ok...I will let that be enough for my first "after wedding" post. Cody will be home from work soon. I am glad to be back!!

Sounds like you guys are adapting well. Nick and I lived together before marriage, but it is different after you are married. Just take it one day at a time. :) Enjoy your married life, enjoy your time together and just enjoy every day as it comes. I know that it is not easy for Nick and I sometimes, but we love each other and we are a family as you and Cody are, so enjoy it, and know that for the rest of your lives you guys are together!!!!

There off my soap box. :) Glad you have the internet back, we missed hearing about you around here!

It good to have you back. Things will start falling into place, and you'll be fine. It's kind of an adjustment, though...so hang in there.

If you could talk to my first husband, he would tell you horror stories about me learning to cook. I was (am) a farm girl that spent NO time in the kitchen. I knew how to bake...but that was it. I hated (still do) housework...would much rather be outside driving tractor. So he got the unlucky life of me learning how to feed him. We ate a lot of mac and cheese. My kids tell me he refuses to eat it now...no matter what!! LOL We both survived...and I'm actually a fairly good cook now, or at least that's what I'm told. It still isn't my favorite thing to do...but I can do it. You will too.

Just take each moment as a new adventure...and before you know it, you'll be an old hat at married life!!!!

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I know that practice makes perfect so I will have to practice up!

Today Cody and I went to the Cities and got a router for our internet, so now we have wireless in our apartment, which is so nice because now I can use MY computer with the internet! Not that Cody's is bad or anything, but I missed my Mac! Darn, having the internet now also means that I have to try to find work online. :bbeek: I am a little scared about that. I really want to do freelance so hopefully it will all work out.

Cody said on the way home tonight that hopefully in a year we will have a house and then he can get a dog and we can start trying to have kids! I hope that can happen. I gatta get a job first!

Cody's grandpa is in the hospital for hip surgery. they had the surgery yesterday and everything went really well. They ended up doing a partial hip replacement but he seems to be doing really good. It was kind of scary because he had fallen and that is why they took him to the hospital, but then they found out that he had phenomena. So it is kind of a blessing that he had fallen in a way.

I guess that is about it on the update front. I am suppose to meet sometime with my photographer this week to see a proof of the book I will be getting. I'll let you know how that goes!

FInding work can be scary, but finding something you love to do can be really nice and work towards that goal of having a puppy and kids, but not all at the same time. hahaha
Good luck on the job hunt. Glad to hear Codys grandpa is doing OK as well!!

I'm not much of a cook either, Chris loves cooking. I would like to, I just have no idea what to make! I understand about not being able to find a job! I've been looking on monster and careerbuilder and can't find anything around here! I graduate in December and have no idea what I'm going to do! It scares me! I find so many for graphic designers though. I hope you find something soon!

Yeah, there are a lot of graphic designer jobs out there, but no one wants to hire a recent graduate with little experience. They all want someone who has been in the industry for a while. So it sucks.

I will update you on my married life. I am getting started on the job front actually! I have decided to do freelance graphic design work for local companies and so far it sounds semi-promicing (sp?). I have several clients that want to use me, like the place where Cody works wants a new large folder brochure, updated website, and maybe new logos. Then I had an interview with two marketing companies about doing freelance desing for the companies they work with and they said they will probably use me from time to time. I also had a meeting with a local printer to send my design work there, and he said that he is going to use me sometimes to do freelance design for him too. Then my wedding photographer actually wants me to design his wedding photo books!! I am so excited about doing the last thing! I am going to start doing that on my own too, but I haven't gotten everything straightened out just yet. I would like to do the books and become a vender on OneWed!

Also, tomorrow at 8 I have an interview with a printer to do some design work part time. I am not sure if I want to do this or not, because I am just getting my freelance started. The main reason is because the place is about a 50-55 minute drive. If it were closer, I would def do it! I am just going to see how the interview goes first.

So we shall see how things go. I am working on a website for myself right now. It isn't done yet, but I will let you know about it when it is!

Well, I guess that is about it for right now. Last week was the local county fair and I went most days. I used to show pigs and sheep so the fair has always been close to my heart. I had a really good time! Ok, time to make lunch for when Cody comes home! Bye for now!

Thanks everyone about all of the congrats and everything!

I actually have more good news job wise. My old supervisor from where I worked while I was in school called me and I guess they want me to come back as a temp. I was a little hesitant because they s*it on my so bad last time, but I have decided to give them another shot. And at least now I don't owe them anything so that I can leave at any time if they start being crappy again. I will be working there two days a week and then possibly more from home. It will be about an hour and 10 minute drive, but it is only two days a week. Plus I will be making about 2-3 dollars more than I would be at another place I interviewed at. So we will see. . . I still really want to keep my freelance going, but it will be nice to actually make some $$ now! Maybe we can save up and start looking for a house!! Then we can start making some babies! lol :D

In other news, today is my birthday! Turning 22! Cody said that I can open my gift when he is home at lunch (in about an hour) and then he won't tell me what we are doing tonight.

Then Friday morning I am getting my hair cut. I got five inches cut off about three weeks ago and made my hair all one length. Well, I hate it! So I am going to go back and get layers again. Sometimes I just hate my hair!

Later that night we are going out with my parents, my brother and his wife for supper. I think we are going to a Swing game (NOT what you think! It is a name of a baseball team). Then Saturday we are going out to eat with Cody's parents for my b-day. Finally, I start work on Monday. This will be a crazy weekend, but I am looking forward to it.

I guess I haven't posted here much lately:bbredface: . It seems like I have been so busy. I have had a really ****** week so far. I guess things happen in three's...bad three's.

First off, my sister-in-law's Grandpa passed away. He had cancer really bad, so in a way it was a sort of relief that he could stop suffering.

Secondly, my parents called me Saturday and told me that they just found out that they are losing half of the land we farm. We have been renting from this guy for over twenty some years and ever since his wife passed away a few years ago, he has gone nuts. He thinks that my family is in cahoots with the government and that we are going to take his land away from his family when he dies. What!? I am really upset about losing this land. I have so many memories from the land! There is a crick that runs around the border of one side where we fished and then there is this pasture area where we always walked and went mushrooming. My dad and brother hunt deer there. It is just a place i associate a lot of great memories to and I am really upset about losing it.

The last thing that happened was that Cody's uncle went into the hospital. Turns out that last night he had to have brain surgery because he was bleeding around his brain. He had two aneurisms! He is really lucky to be alive at all! So far, he is doing ok after the surgery, but it is kind of a waiting game now.

So yea, it has been a bad week. Tomorrow is my SIL's grandpa's funeral so I will be at that. Let's hope next week will be better!

oh I am so sorry to hear everything that is going on. That is not easy.

Thanks guys! Cody's uncle seems to be doing pretty decent. We went up last night with Cody's bro and his wife and saw him. Cody and his bro were the only two that went in because they only allow two at a time, and then after they got out, he was sleeping. It was nice getting to talk to his wife though. She looks so tired and upset. I feel so bad for her!

I had the worst day yesterday at work. I am working at DPS all week because one of the other designers was gone on vacation and I had to do my work, plus cover for her. Well, she had this huge newsletter that was coming in on Thursday and we needed to get it out as a proof Friday. Well, the editor who was working with me (who is also my supervisor) wanted to leave friday at 11:30 since her son had his first day of school and she wanted to eat lunch with him. She didn't want the poor kid to eat alone. God forbid a kid in high school have to eat by himself!

First off, that pissed me off. She babies those kids SOOO much! That son is 14 years old. She won't let them watch any movie over PG-13 (she has another son that just graduated High School). She will even fast forward movies with any type of cussing or sex. Like in Titanic, where he is drawing her or when they are in the car. Yeah! Also, if one of them were sick from school, she would have to come home and stay with them. I mean we are even talking like a soar throat! She just babies them so much.

Well, she was all over my butt ALL DAY and hovering over my desk while I was trying to format this newsletter asking "waht do you have done yet?" "Just give me what you have" "how much is left." etc. Then 10 minutes later she would be back at it again. I was really wanting to leave around 4:00 (I get off work normally at 4:30) so I could meet Cody and his bro and wife at 4:30 in the next town over, so we could go see his uncle. Bascally I was so swamped with 20 different projects that I wasn't able to leave. I was just so mad and upset because all I wanted to do was go see his uncle and all the editor was worried about was eating lunch with her son. Grrr

Ok, so that sounds like it wasn't that bad of a day, but it really sucked for me!! Then, my boss had told me I could work from home all week next week since I drove in all this week, but I have to go in Monday because the editor/my supervisor left and she didn't know what to give me to work on. She had more imortant things on her mind

....As you can tell, I am still fuming!!

Thanks Nicksbride. You are such a sweetheart! I am a lot better. This weekend gave me a nice break.

Cody, me and his brother went fishing Saturday night. I only ended up catching one bass, but I had a ton of bites! It was a lot of fun!

Monday I had to work at DPS and it went a lot better. I was just a little cold to my supervisor, but we are alright now. They are letting me work from home the rest of this week which is awesome! I LOVE working from home! Like today, I was able to finish the laundry all the while I was working. I get so much more work done too since I don't have as many distractions.

This weekend we are going to a Swing baseball game in the Cities. I am really looking forward to it because last time we went we had a lot of fun. And this time it is free! It is with Crop Production (people my dad works with farming) and it is free to the family members. Soft Pretzels and cheese, here I come!

What does her DPS stand for? I work for Western Illinois University and that is a department there called Document and Publication Services. We create and distribute most of the promotional materials for WIU.

It is super nice getting to work from home. I get so much more done it seems like. Earlier, I took my ten minute break and went outside and took all of the dead leaves/flowers off of my plants. lol!

I finally got my photo albums picked out for our wedding pictures! I found them at Kohls and love them! I wanted to get a 300+ picture count one, but I never found one I like, so I got two 200 picture albums instead. Here's what the red one looks like, and then I got one in silver (well, two actually! and I plan on getting one more red one if I can find it so that I can use the two red ones for the wedding and the two silver ones for whatever!). Oh! And the red one has a CD holder in it too!

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g232/twigler/436130.jpg

I plan on getting my pictures ordered this weekend. I had to wait because I don't get paid until Friday. I think we are around 325 pictures!! Oh well! Why not?! I am going to get them through Shutterfly and they will be around $0.10 each, so that will only be around $35.00 I can't wait!

Oh, silly me!! Her DPS stands for the Department of Public Safety!! She is an accountant and is getting a promotion to Senior Acct. Everyone is quite excited for her...but they wish she could stay in her same building.

I think it would be so neat to work from home. But, I suppose, people with breathing and heart trouble aren't going to come to me!! LOL
