We are thinking about doing a honeymoon along with our regular registries, and I was just wondering if anybody has any experience with them. We are going to to use honeyfund.com, but I just wonder how many people will actually use it. Does anybody have any experience-as someone who gave a gift or received a gift? Thanks!
I'm using honeyfund.com too. However, my family is so into traditional shopping that I'm not sure if I'm even going to keep the darned thing. I've spent SO much time adding things to there already too. Sorry, I know that you wanted somebody with experience...but I just wanted to let you know that I'm in the same situation as you are!

Thats ok, I read that you were going to set one up, that's kind of what gave me the ideato post on here! So did it take a really long time to set up? It seems like such a good idea, but essentially its just like giving money b/c the guest doesn't know that you are spending their money where they want you too, right? We might just set one up and see what happens!

I think we are going to register for a honeymoon because we already live together and have everything for the house....FH's mom said that she would like to pay for our honeymoon, but she just bought a new house, and a new car and is in Mexico for three weeks..for some reason I just don't think she's going to be able to do it. Does Honeyfund.com charge you?? I have googled honeymoon registries and came up with so many results but I noticed that many of them charge a percentage....
I would love to hear advice from people that have registered and how it turned out as well!! :)

We have a Honeyfund Registry. It didn't take too long to set up and it was easy. For my shower we only got 1 Honeyfund gift. I got an email yesterday saying I got another, so I think more people will use it as wedding gifts.

Oh and Honeyfund was the only registry I found that was COMPLETELY free!
No, it didn't take long to set it up at all! But I just keep on messing with it and taking stuff off, adding stuff, etc. It's super easy to set up though.
No, honefund doesn't charge you anything because they don't directly handle the money. After the guest "purchases" the gift they can either print out the gift receipt & bring you the cash in a card to your wedding or they can put it into your paypal account via a link on your honeyfund page. Paypal actually does charge a very small percentage, but not much at all.
I'm kind of worried that people will see it as asking for money because of how it's set up. That's why I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or not. I'd love to buy somebody something from a honeymoon registry, but it don't know how my guests will view it and I don't want to offend anybody. Besides, we do need a lot of stuff since we'll be moving in together so we may just stay with traditional stores.
Here it is if anybody wants to take a look:

This is helpful, I'm now considering http://www.lynotttours.com/i-self.html but I have a lot more researching to do. Sorry for starting a thread when there already was one.

We have a honeymoon registry with www.sendusoff.com. I was really lazy when I registered with them and I pretty much regret it completely, but it's too late to change it as the address has already been announced to everyone. They charge a 7.5% commission, and I'm pretty unimpressed.

As for when people are buying the gifts -- well, the save the date cards went out a couple of weeks ago, and no activity yet. Our engagement party did spark a couple of hits, but we hope the save the dates will really pick it up (we're a bit worried, to be honest!).

That's good to know, thanks! I did my STDs SO early that I don't think anything at all will happen until the bridal shower.
