Ok ladies, help. I was planning on just picking out patterns and fabric and having the BM dresses made, but that doesn't seem to be working out right. It just seems life would be so much simplier and make more people happy if we bought them. Well, I am paying for 2 of my girls dresses so I can't afford anything expensive. What is a good place to find nice, inexpensive dresses? My BMs are extreme opposits on what they like, so I need something that has a veriaty of styles to choose from. I'd like for the dress to be under $80. I have thought about Sears and places like that, but I am having a hard time finding places that carry the same dresses in PA and WI (where my MOH lives.) Y'all have any good ideas or some websites (that I can trust ordering from) that might help me out?? Thanks a bunch!

I know several people who have used www.bridesave.com to get good deals. Also, try www.chadwicks.com or www.jcpenney.com (search for bridal)

JC Penny Cataloug or Sears Cataloug would be a good place to start. That way you can order them and have them delivered to a location close to you're bridesmaids.
I was faced with a similar problem as 2 of my bridesmaids live far away from me. We thought about having dresses made but because of the distance we worried that they wouldn't be the same. So... we've ordered the tops from a company that has locations all across the country, then we are making skirts. I wasn't so worried about the skirts being slightly different. I am purchasing the fabric here and sending it to them.

Thanks for the ideas. I also looked under Wedding Dresses on this site and found some nice ones for only like $70 or $80. I want to look into the companies (althought I doubt this site would advertise a poor business) but I have some possiblities. I have to show them to the girls and I'll post them for you guys to see soon!

The 2006 line of Eden Maids are priced nice and their clearing out some older styles, but the sizes and colors are limited.

Try Ebay!! I found my BM dresses there..They were special oder from a company..but boy were they cheap!! My best friend had hers made..Turned out to be pertty cheap..Retail and wholesale stores still have outlandish prices that can break your bank in a heartbeat..Now some [place like A resale shop or E-Bay will give u more options and beauty for your buck..Believe me, i am the queen of cutting corners..Check it out and see what you can find..Hopefully this was some sort of help to you..Good luck..

I have girls all over. 3 in state and 1 in Maine 1 in Ohio and even 1 in Austraila. The easiest thing i found for me was to have the dresses made. I had 2 of the girls with me and helped me pick out the pattern and the colors. ( 6 different colors ) and who was wearing what. My girls are very easy going. They said it is yoru wedding you tell us what to wear and where to be and we will be there wearing it. One girl told me just no pink and frills for me PLEASE. ( I have to mention how much of good friend this girl is to me, she is a lesbian and the butch type at that. She would not be cought dead in a dress but she is putting one on and not jsut any dress a brides maid dress for me. I love her so much. She is the one that came all the way from Austraila for my b-day. ) I then kept a piece of each color of the material so i have it to go by and i sent the girls their pattern with their color of fabric. I figured with them all being so far apart that we will end up with pretty much the same dress no matter who is making it. My sister ( the marton of honor ) lucked out. The color I wanted her to wear was the lilac becuase that is the color i am trying to get as the accent in my dress, one of my other BMs had a dress she wore to another friends wedding in lilac. It is the same style as the dress pattern except the back is a little different. She said my sister can have it and have it taken out or in , what ever she needs done. With my sister being the matron of honor it is ok for her dress to be a bit different. I perfer it.
