My soon to be Mother In Law just asked me to wear a ring that had been in their family for several generations on my wedding day. I said yes so not to hurt her feelings but I don't really want to wear the ring on my finger because it is a very big ruby. Does anyone have suggestions on how I could include the ring in my attire without it being to noticed.

Wow thats so neat! You could wear it as a necklace or bracelet. Or perhaps you could include it in your bouquet?

I second shelby. It would be nice in the bouquet.

I wore my great grandmothers grandmothers wedding band. It only fit on my ring finger, but I proudly wore that!

On the other hand, my MIL asked if I wanted to carry her grandmothers handkerchief. So I pinned that to the inside of my dress.

I would say fit it into your boquet.

I would try to wear the ring or tell FMIL that you can't. I think it would look worse worn on a necklace, and could get lost in the bouquet since you won't have it all night.

Is the ring really that bad; could you just wear it on your right hand?

My 1st thought was attach it in the middle of a pretty hair piece with a ribbon or fine wire; but the bouquet caught my interest too.

Personally I would wear it. She might feel offended or upset if you don't and you don't wanna start your relationship off the wrong foot. But you know her better than me so if you think she'd be ok with it, do something else. :D
