The more my FH and I hear about A.M. weddings, the better we like them. However, my heart is set on getting my hair "did" and I haven't decided about makeup. A girl I know just got married at 9:30 in the morning, and I'm sure I'll have to pick her brains when I see her again to see how she did it. Any tips about getting it all done, or is it more trouble than it's worth? :bbeek:

no, morning weddings are doable. i got married at 11. i know of people getting married at 10, etc. it just means that your hair person will have to start earlier in the morning. depending on how many bridesmaids will also be needing their hair done. i got my hair and 5 others done as well as makeup for 3 before the wedding.

I wouldn't do it just because I am not a morning person; but if you can get up early and get the vendors you need to work with you that early then go for it!

we're getting married at 11:30 am on a Sunday. One of our guests is also our hairdresser, so she's going to drive down early to do my (our?) hair. Otherwise, I'd do it myself.

I'm with brandi on the whole morning person thing. Plus, only one of the bridesmaids is a morning person. They would have shot me if I had an AM wedding. I think am weddings are nice but I want to relax the day of or at least try to and I don't want to feel overly rushed. Some people can pull them off easily without a hitch if they are up and going early enough. So, if you and FH are morning people I'd say go for it!

I got married at 11:00am. I got up at 4:30, got ready and went to the hotel at 7:00am to get hair done. It is doable and nice!!!
We had a morning wedding because NIcks dad is a farmer and needed to get back to take care of the cows. GEEZ :)

One of my bridesmaids wants to get married in the morning like 10:30ish or 11, and have a big breakfast meal at the reception, I think something like that would be cute. I do think 9:30 is too early though. You may have less guests at 9:30 vs. 10:30 even though its only an hours difference

I think we will be having our wedding at 10 or 11am.. Only because the receiption will be cheaper.. I'm not a morning person.. at ALL.. So i'm hoping it works out, lol. I'll have to find a place to get my hair done.. O.o;; I hope to be coherent, lol..

I am looking forward to more posts on this subject, because I am very interested in getting married in the A.M. (well, 11:30 or so) and I wonder how it will all work.

Thanks for the replies so far... they've been helpful!:D

I am getting married at 11:30 am too. I figured if I get my hair done at 9 am it should give me plently of time to get ready and do my makeup. Are you BM's getting their hair done too? It is totally do-able ... but you do have to be a morning person.

Oh, just the thought makes me cringe. I am not a morning person, and FH is worse than I am. Even with me getting up late, I manage to get myself and my five year old ready and with shoes on (those of you with kids know what a chore THAT one can be!) before he even rolls out of bed. If I tried to do an AM wedding, I'd be ready, but stressed, and he'd be late to the ceremony. :D
