Ok...Im giving up....I wanted to have these really pretty dresses in this fabric but I think its too much for my mom to make the dresses. I cant find the right color and I can find black dresses I like all day in the the right price range...I dont really like it but im trying to decide if I should just go for it....What do you think?

I know I could probably find this out but I'll be honest I'm lazy right now lol so what time is your wedding? It's in September right? What are your other colors?

Oh yeah, I remember now. I would say black would be fine. You could either have just an all black dress or accented with a deep red and pull in the other colors with your flowers. I am having black dresses with a dark pink accent and my wedding is in September in the evening. I think black is more appropriate for an evening wedding especially if they are long dresses, but really I don't think it matters. What I like about black BM dresses is they can easily wear them again b/c they can be dressed up or down and are appropriate for more any occassion. Hope this helps!

Wow, this is a really good idea as far as the girls being able to wear their dresses again and again. I'll have to decide if that color will fit my wedding.

I think it's a great idea! Have you thought of tea length dresses, having the scarlett or red accent sashes?? Very elegant!!

I love black dresses; like mentioned above you could add sashes or a shawl or something in your scarlet color too. If not that then just using the flowers and ribbons there in your colors would be fine too.

I think black dresses are totally classic and I'm thinking about them for my girls. Also they can wear them over and I want to be a good bride! I've seen those sites w/ the hideous dresses, no one's ever going to wear those again. ;-)

Although some of my generation are uncomfortable with black at weddings, I believe it is the most formal, infinitely wearable color for maids' gowns. Every color under the sun is now appearing at funerals (the black dress place) so why not black at weddings? Everyone needs "a little black dress" or two, or three.

I have also found many brides of late choosing classic style tea length or cocktail length for their maids.

The most considerate of mine this year chose a chocolate brown cocktail length dress with a chiffon overlay for an August wedding. They were $39.99 from Dress Barn, and comparable in style and quality with gowns that cost three times as much but were for "Bridesmaids".

I found the most amazing black & white wedding dress that I loved, and wanted to put my bridesmaid in alternating black & white dresses, but my mom REFUSED to let me do so.

I voted yes, even though mine are tourqouise.

You can always ask your bridesmaids if they have their own black dresses. If you want, the dresses don't have to be uniform.

I think black dresses would look gorgeous with your colors. Plus, your bridesmaids can wear them again and let's face it, when it comes to bridesmaid dresses, that is a godsend. I'm wearing emerald and purple for my little sister's wedding in '10, and it's pretty, but when I get home I'm making it into pillows.
