One of the questions on that survey posted made me curious to know.....(If you're willing to share) has anyone had a near death experience?

I was in lifeguarding class awhile back when I was a camp counselor, (we had to be certified). We were doing backborading in the deepend of the pool and had to all take turns being the "victom and the rescuer". So I was strapped to the backboard (ie...immobile) and the backborad sunk to the bottom of the 12foot pool. The girls who were strapping me in only screamed and didn't help. So our instructor had to jump in and pull me out....still strapped in. It was super scary...I couldn't help myself beacuse I couldn't move my arms or legs.

When I was three or four we where at a friends house swimming when my water wings fell off. My mom was there and didnt see what happened I couldnt swim and was drowning and this 8-12 year old african american boy grabbed me and put me back on the step. I saw a light.. I wasnt freaking out under the water...I was so calm and almost happy.. After that he just walked right out no one seemed to notice him...When I asked then and again years later everyone told me there was no african american boy there that day. Im pretty sure he was my angel. Even if he was a real person and everyone just magically forgot he was there he is still my angel.

I don't know that I have had any 'near death experience', but I have been in some situations that could have easily turned out badly.

I was spending a day in Jacksonville and was going back to Orlando. I was cruising down I95 with the flow of traffic. All of a sudden, traffic came to a complete standstill. So I stopped. When I looked in my rear view mirror, I saw a truck gaining on me quickly and he didn't seem like he was going to slow down. I wasn't scared, I just told myself that this was it (because if he had plowed into me going 55-60 mpg with me sitting still, yeah) and just sat there and waited for it. It was weird, because I was very calm about it. As I continued to watch this truck gain on me, I guess he was about 100 feet from me when I heard him slam on the brakes, tires squeal, and off he went down into the median. After I realized that I had been spared and my mind actually had a chance to really wrap around what had just happened and how close I was to dying, I got the shakes. I guess it was the adrenaline pumping or something.

As far as seeing the "light" or anything like that, which I think of as near death experiences, no.

But I've had scary things happen that made me fear for my life, that's for sure.

I haven't had any near death experiences...I definately had some really weird instances happen though..Like one night I was driving to my freinds house and I was going on this backroad going about 50 MPH....All of a sudden I got this uneasy feeling and I thought I heard this voice saying slow down so I turned down my radio and I let off the gas. I go around the bend and there are two cars racing...One is right in my lane. He gets scared looses control and hits the tree head on right in front of me. I stop and pull over and grab my cell phone. I rush to the vehicle as the other vehicle speeds off and there is a teenage boy literally trapped under the steering wheel and is unconcscious and hardly breathing. I sat there with him from the back seat and called 911. It was horrible and I felt this extremly erry presence around..I don't know how to explain it. I just kept talking to him letting him know he wasn't alone. It was also weird because he wasn't bleeding or nothing he looked completely fine with the exception of laying unconscious with his legs all curled up under the steering wheel. Unfortunately, he had serious brain damage and by the time they got him out of the car he passed away. I was never so scared and calm at the same time. I just felt like there was a higher power there..It was weird...

Tell me about it!! It was a young boy too he just graduated high school. My gaurdian angel was watching me that night!! Even if the boy was wearing his seat belt, with that sort of force head on, he probably wouldn't have made it either way. It's just sad. I only travel that road anymore during the day and I drive it much slower now too!

I just got done talking to my mom about this - I remember I was about to walk across the street a few years back and I heard a female voice call my name so of course I stop walking and turn around and right as I stopped and turned around this car came flying around the corner out of no where. I honestly believe it was my Aunt who I was very close to. She passed away when I was 9. I truly believe she is my guardian angel
