View Full Version : Invisalign!
Oh, my mouth hurts so badly right now. I just got my Invisalign today and my mouth is so raw already. I'm trying not to be a big whiny baby though. I'm a little concerned because I got these little attachments on four of my teeth to help pull them in the right direction. I just hope that they won't be visible in wedding pictures because I can take the Invisalign out, but those suckers are glued to my teeth. This is all going to be very interesting. :snide:

I remember when I had braces. It always hurt so bad after they adjusted them. Dont worry, it will get better. And think of the beautiful teeth you will have afterwards.
I keep on telling Chad that I'm very grateful that I don't have regular braces because I know that they hurt more, but I can't help complaining just a little! LOL. Actually, I am going to take some pain meds to help me get to sleep. I'm going to be very well hydrated for the next couple of years...these things dry out your mouth like crazy. This is gonna help me with my weight loss too. ;) It feels like I'm yanking my teeth out when I try to take them out to eat! Ouch!!

I had invisalign..and well after about 4 months of them I stopped wearing them. Eventrually they stop hurting, but then you have to change to a new set and the pain starts all over again.
I want those as well! My dental insurance is now covering adult orthodontics starting in July. i will be looking into those. Though, I didn't realize they glue them to your teeth!

oh I am sorry your teeth hurt. I remember as said before that braces are SOO painful, I had to eat potatoes and yogurt forever because they were so tender. But in the end it is worth it. I wanted to try invisalign as well for my gap in my tooth. Let us know how it goes. Ibuprofen works wonders! Good luck sweetie

smile really big and take a bicture up close, that way you can find out if they will show that much in your photos
Let's see...they were about $4500 total for the aligners as well as any ortho appointments and most of the little extra things that I need along the way. They're about the same price as traditional braces now. My complete cycle is scheduled to take about 2 years...50 sets of aligners and I change them about every 2 weeks. I have to go in for a checkup and to get a few new sets of aligners every 2 months unless I have problems.
The things that they had to glue on are called "buttons" and I'm not sure how many people that get Invisalign have to get them. I have one on each my canines because they are really crooked so they need extra help to pull them in the right direction. The Invisalign snaps in right over them. And I do mean that they "snap" in...you can hear it! They are tooth colored so they're not real noticeable, but when I take the aligners out to eat they are kind of scratching on my lips.

It will be so worth it just take some tylenol and it will be ok. None of my pictures ever showed the brackets in the back. You mouth heals quick and will get used to them. Just remember the end result will be awesome. :D

I have Invisalign too...And yes, I have three buttons on my teeth. Mine are noticable kinda.. They're a shade whiter than my natural teeth.
They hurt but you just have to keep wearing them. My teeth should be straight in about 5 months. I'm on my 6th set of aligners.
Yeah I'm so thankful that the cell turnover in your mouth is one of the quickest in the body! I've been a good girl and have only taken them out three times today to eat. My teeth feel okay, but I have big blisters on the insides of my lips.

do they still make that wax stuff you put onto the buttons sorta like they had with braces? my daughter just had her braces removed last year and for a while she used this wax stuff to keep the blisters off of her mouth.
I'm sure they do. That had crossed my mind, but then I forgot about it. I played clarinet in high school and I remember that all of my friends with braces always had tons of that wax so that they could play their instruments. I think that I might call the ortho tomorrow and see what they have to say.
