I don't know what to tell you but I think you should go to a local seamstress befor trying anything. You may be able to get a larger slip skirt that will make your dress puff out a little more but you have to be careful with that too because not all dresses are made to be puffy!

I'm assuming you are looking for a corset back right?? That shouldn't be too difficult for a seamstress to do but I would warn that it's probably not a feat you should take on yourself unless you are excelled at sewing.

My mom is a seamstress and I can tell you that they would probably just rip out the zipper and add hooks for the ribbon. To make it poofier they would probably just add more crinoline. I would definetly ask a local seamstress

There's a really great seamstress on Upper James called Zlata's she'll pull out out the zipper and add loops to the back to make it a corset back.

To make it pouffier you'll need to add a crinoline- you can usually find them on ebay for fairly cheap (I think Zlata will have them in her change room so if you take your dress in to her you'll be able to try your dree on with a crinoline and see what it'll look like)

I'm not sure- I've never been or used her before. My guess if that you'll probably need an appointment

Changing a zipper to a corset back has become a popular redesign in the last few years. A competant alteration specialist can accomplish it, providing a matching fabric, cording, or ribbon can be obtained for the loops and lacing. Another consideration is whether you desire a modesty panel, which generally depends on if you want skin (and possibly undergarments) to show.
Fullness, providing there is room in the gown skirt, can be accomplished with a crinoline. I currently have a client who will wear TWO crinolines under her gown. The skirt will allow it, and it achieves the look she desires.

Good tip! I have seen a couple of weddings where the bride's bra showed through the laces :ooh:
