i could go on babytalk and ask this but ill try here first. Do women ovulate 14 days before there period? And that means that is the ONLY time you can get pregnant right? If there is only one day out of the month you can get pregnant...then that means the girls who accidently get pregnant just happen to have sex on that ONE day?? Am i getting this right?

I believe that Sperm can stay alive for a few days as well. So there is always a chance. But generally speaking a women is most fertile a few days before and after her period.

each person is different, this is something you should ask the doc. he/she can make a calander based on your body. but it is after your period.

okay. It just seems so crazy that all these people get pregnant accidently and there is only a few days you CAN get pregnant. I just got off my pill and didnt use protection 2 times. My period ended on Monday the 4th and had sex on the 7th and the 9th or 11th(cant rememebr)....sooooo im wondering if im good(rather not get pregnant but its okay if we do.

Does anyone use those really thin condoms?

I would def. use a condom if you do not want to be pregnant right now. It really depends on each person.
We haev used the thin ones and they work great, HOWEVER they do break more often then the other ones.

are you on the pill? Or you all don't use any kind of protection? I want to get the thin ones, im willing to take the chance of them breaking. DH hates condoms,he says they pinch. I hate them too, honestly id rather not have sex then to use them, lol.

NOt everyone ovulates on the 14th day. Just in that general vacinity. And like one of the other ladies said, Sperm can live in the body for up to 5 days. There a 24 hour period once the egg is released for the sperm to reach it.

YOu ovulate between days about 12-16. So if you count day one the first day of your period. So if you started your period on the 5, then your approximate ovulation days are 15/16-20th (ish). But as the ladies before have said sperm can live for a while inside the body. If your not using condoms you should at least use spermicide, or something if you don't want to be preggers.
