I learned this info in one of my classes and found it so fascinating I thought I would share.

For the first 18 months-3 years a blood test can actually show you are in love. For that long your body secreats hormones that give you that I'm in love "feeling". After 3 years it when "true love" begins. It is at that time that those chemicals subside and you realize that you really and truely want to be with that person dispite their flaws.

Isn't that interesting...I found it so.

I believe the hormones secreted are oxytocin and endorphins (endorphins are the hormones that cause the "runner's high" some athletes speak of), which produce quite literally a physiological "high." :D

That's exactly what I told my BF. I said....guess what? We REALLY love each other...for REAL. You should've seen the look he gave me (ie. my GF is crazy!) I said, we passed that make, twice!:grinhappy:

I learned about that in one of my sexuality classes in college. Really neat stuff. Our bodies are amazing organisms that can do so much!! Its amazing

I heard something similar on one of those "Science of sex" shows on TV a while back.

DH and I have been together for 8 yrs; I still get that "in love" feeling from time to time ;)
