Our little country cabin wedding

The day was great! I don't have much time but will try to write a little. I slept great the night before. No stress. We had plenty of time to get ready all day, although, I would have scheduled my hair appointment a little earlier had I'd know it would have taken as long as it did. My hair dresser did a great job though and she took her time with me. As I left the beauty shop, it was a dark sky and began to thunder. I didn't even bring an umbrella with me! But it was just barely sprinkling by the time I got back to the house. I got a few last minute things, got the kids in the car then hit the road to Madisonville to the log cabin for our wedding!

It did rain on our wedding day but it cleared up about 2 hours before the ceremony began. Whew! The early evening turned out to be very nice and comfortable. The rain had cooled everything off just a bit and the tables and chairs were dry, and the ground wasn't too wet so an outdoor wedding was still very possible. Linda, the inn keeper, did a great job setting out candles and oil lamps on the tables. She created a little sweetheart table for Derek and I. It was lovley with the lace table cloth and oil lamps lit. I couldn't stop smiling all day. We saw eachother before the ceremony to get some pictures, but my photographer did a good job "presenting" me to him. He saw me for the first time in my gown. I then went back into the cabin about 15 minutes before the ceremony started to kind of "chill out"...although I wasn't stressing. I was already on a cloud and happy as could be. Still am! I heard "The Rose" begin to play and this is where my little girls began to sprinkle the red rose petals on the small brick walkway. My dad waited for me by the steps to escort me to Derek. The ceremony was short and sweet, with prayer and lots of smiles. After the preacher prounounced us husband and wife, we had played the theme from Rocky, the movie, which is Derek's favorite. Everyone got a laugh out of that. The tears didn't come until my dad gave a toast which was very sweet. I must say, the day went very well! Everyone was in good spirits. I can't wait for the professional pics to come in. I'll try and post a few snapshots that the innkeeper's husband took.

Oh...I thought of these pictures as well. These are a bit more detailed pictures I took of the cabin the next day. This was a very cute, nostalgic place and we felt right at home here. The cabin is full of antiques and almost everything has a story behind it. Even the bed is antique. She's got one of those soft, feather bed toppers on it...just like my grandma used to have.

The week before we got married I changed our first dance song to "Like Red On a Rose" by Alan Jackson...it had just been released and when I heard it I was instantly in love with it! Sometimes those last minute changes are the best! Again, congrats...I'll be checking back in on you from time to time!

I'm a little bummed out because the pro pics are still not available. I can't even view them online anywhere. My photographer has had wedding after wedding and she works alone in her home so she says it could be another 2 to 3 weeks! I won't even have them for my reception coming up on July 1st. Oh well, silly me for assuming they would be done by then. I just figured for sure they'd be done by then or I could at least have a few more digital images to download and print out on my computer. Our wedding was June 2nd and the reception is almost a month later. She has online proofing and shoot digital so what's the big hold up??
