Who isn't on a diet..haahahha.
I'm a lil frustrated. I am getting married in October and would like to lose about 10-15 lbs. I have been walking very briskly for about 20 miles a week and doing well on my eating..and haven't lost a lb.......
So, what type of diet are you planning on starting?

Well my mom joined LA Weightloss so she told me everything your supposed to do and I have done it before but can't stick to it. I just went off my birth control, so im hoping that i will loose some weight just from that alone. But its just so hard to diet! DH eats so much! He HAS to have his pasta and ice cream and cookies. And he hates veggies except asparagus and salad. So its so hard for me to make dinner bc he hates everything. I do eat fast food alot and i am stopping, its rediculious. I've gained 8 lbs since the wedding.

I'm in the same boat. My FH which I currently live with eats anything he wants and if he needs to drop a few, he just eats 1 cheeseburger instead of 2. I have found that walking every night has help firm a lot, but it hasn't changed my size or weight and that is very aggravating.
I did weight watchers the end of last year and it worked well. That is actually the diet I try to follow most of the time. It really does help to go and weigh in once a week, but you can pretty much learn everything once youve joined and then try and do it on your own.
I actually don't eat much or pop at all, but I can't seem to drop the weight. My family is large and I know that it runs in the family, but I would love to be able to break that cycle. I'm not huge, but I have about 20 to lose to feel better about my self.

I am in the same boat. DH metabolism is SOOO fast. He can eat a whole cake and not gain a thing. He downs bags of chips and just burns it off. Me I eat A chip and gain 10 pounds. I have gained about 10 since the wedding and just joined weight watchers and am doing well! So we shall see. I want to loose about 20 pounds before my brothers wedding. I walk/run everyday and have been gaining muscle. So we shall see

I'm not so much on a diet, but we recently did seriously alter our eating and workout habits. It's more of a lifestyle change, than a diet. We'd both like to lose about 50 lbs (I'd actually like to lose 70, but I'd be content with 50). My target date is by about Feb 1 of next year (because I should be ordering my gown by then), so I'll shoot for the 50 lbs, then hope for 70 before we try to conceive. :D

thats awesome you all are doing that together. I really upset that i have to go to my SIL wedding on June 30 and i will be a huge cow,but its my fault. And then next June is my cousins wedding so i have to be skinny by then. But i really want to be thin by Christmas.

I am in a program too but not to reduce. I need to gain because I look like stick and bones :(
I REALLY need to watch what I am eating. I would like to lose 10-15 as well. I have such a sweet tooth and there is always junk food at work. I eat it when I am not hungry, out of bordem (sp). I guess I need to just drink water instead. Also, i have really been trying not to drink very much pop, but I need that little boost of sugar when I wake up before my coffee! Eeeks.

I also love Dunkin donughts carmel flavored iced cofees...Not sure what you call them but they are soooo good. I have been good and haven't had one in months.
I started a new diet. I previously just ate 3 small heathly meals a day. I stayed away from saturdate fats and stuck to good carbs such as in fruits. I would eat a banana before I left for work, slice apples mid morning, celery and PB for lunch, some more apples around 2, an orange or kiwi before I left work, and usually some sort of chicken and rice or lean beef for supper with small portions. In conjunction with working out I lost about 10 lbs. but for the last 3 weeks I have completly platued so I am trying something more drastic. I want to lose another 5 at the mininum for the wedding so I started slim fast. It has helped me not to eat hardly at all. Ofcourse I don't like the shakes so after I finally get through one of them I don't have much of an appetite after lunch. I just started it yesterday we'll see how it works!

oh I love coffee with just cream. I love the strong flavor of coffee!!
Tomorrow I start the points system with Weight Watchers and have to weigh in every week so I am going to really be motivate to loose those 2 pounds every week that they say you should. I walk everyday during lunch and have lost a few pounds.. but I really want to loose about 20 pounds... I figured I can do it in about 2-3 months!!! Lets hope!

dieting sucks. I'm hoping i will loose some lbs. just from stopping the pill. When i was in highschool i could eat anything and not gain a ounce. WHAT HAPPENED!

Yeah, isn't that amazing how we could eat anything and everything when we were in HS. I think it will help you to talk about your dieting everyday on here. Do you walk or exercise much?
I got the biggest loser workout tape and Carmen Electra tapes, but I use the BL tape much more. It also helps if you have someone around you that has the same weight loss goals. Good Luck to all...cause I think we all know how hard losing weight can be.

i do have a 1 mile walking tape that i like to do. I need to do it alot more. We have this AWESOME HUGE workout machine @ our house but its just weights and stuff(mostly guy stuff) and we have a treadmill but i hate using it. I have so many things to be motivated about to get skinny, but im just not motivated. I do good ALL day at work. A slimfast bar for breakfast, healthy choice frozen meal for lunch and then i don't eat to well for dinner. When i get home to hubby i can't stick to my diets. Its so hard. Everyone in my family is on a diet.lol. So it is sooo easy for me during the day at work but on weekends and evenings i break. And since DH just started school he doesn't get home til 10pm on mondays and wed.(like tonight) so i get so bored that i eat. ooooooooooooo

I have trouble sticking to my diet at home. Between the kids and my FH it just makes it sooo hard. It also doesn't help that FH says I don't need to lose anymore weight and he makes these fattening conconctions up saying here you gotta try this and is insulted if I don't!
Plus, I'm not sure how well I'm going to do with slimfast...It kind of leaves the bad after taste!! Yuck!!! Instead of it controlling hunger I think it more or less makes you lose your appetite temporarily....See I do go to the gym 6 days a week and work out. I even change my workouts and increase the intensity to prevent hitting that plateau..So, I guess my only option to get where I feel comfortable is to try something drastic and hope for the best.

why are you sticks and bones!?
Well, I'm on a diet too. I'm pretty much constantly trying to better my eating habits and lifestyle choices though. My cousin weighed herself at my house the other day...we're the same height and she weighs 5 pounds more than me but she looks SO skinny! Ah, I just don't get it! I really want to get my arms toned for my wedding gown, but I think that I'm way more concerned with looked okay in a bikini in Mexico! :ooh:

I just want to get down so that my clothes aren't tight anymore. I think our club memberships are active, so if I can start working out, I don't think it would take me long to get in better shape. I mostly just want to tone and lose about 20-25 lbs. My problem is more that since I live with FMIL, I don't feel comfortable buying food and keeping it there -- there's no room in the refridgerator nor in the cupboards. Plus, she wants to cook, if there's cooking to be done, and I do not really like southern cooking at all (it seems to be all fried, or cooked with bacon or grease, ick). If I could have my own place, buy my own groceries and exercise, I'd be good -- and less likely to eat fast food.

I had to read your post because of your username. I'm a dog person :)
I generally go by pointermom, but I save that email for rescue related items.
Anyway, I can't tell you what's happening, but I can give you a suggestion to take off the weight.

Try the body applicators and the defining gel. These work so well.
All you do is put the wrap on, the 3 days while the wrap is working, you use the defining gel.
I only needed to tone up a little, so I don't have an amazing story. But my friend Michelle used them to get ready for her sister's wedding. In a month, she lost 30 inches total (waist, hips, stomach) and 15 pounds. She used 6 of the body wraps and two of the chin wraps. I think that's faster than most people do. They have a 4 pack and I think people tend to do 1 a week.
Sugestions if you use them: Drink a lot of water. They aren't dieuretics (sp?) so it's not water weight you lose.) You need to drink water to flush the toxins it's breaking down out of your system.
It says wear for a minimum of 45 minutes, but longer is better, I think up to 8 hours. I just wore mine to bed. It was easier. I just put it on before bed and slept in it. You need something to hold it on. Saran wrap works, but I switched to an ace bandage after a few hours because the saran wrap made me itchy. You can just wear tight clothing too.
I don't know about the other stuff on the site. I'm sure it works great. I haven't tried it though. I joined the company because of how good the wraps work. If you decide to try them, I'd appreciate it if you'd go through the site above. I get credit for referrals.
I'm not just recommending this because I get credit. The wraps really do work. Michelle was so happy that she found something to take the weight off and have it stay off. She'd been doing different diets for years with little success. And of course, she didn't think the wrap would work. It was a great surprise for her. I know how many people struggle with weight loss like Michelle did, and we're doing our best to get the word out to them too.

I started on my diet a week and a half ago. I have lost 3 pounds soo far but want to lose 25-30 before the wedding. I've done crash diets before but I gain my weight all back so I am taking is slow this time. I think I can lose 30 pounds in 6 months easy.

My husband and I just decided to start on a diet together. Its not necessarily a diet, but just eating how we should be eating....smaller portions and actually eating 3 meals a day....but either way, we are trying to lose weight. My metabolism is so messed up because of all of the fad diets and stuff that I've tried in the past....so this may be a trick for me to do.

I think most women are on some kind of diet. I know how to eat in order to get into great shape, but my appetite used to really get me off track.
Keeping an exercise program in place seems to be so hard to do, but it's really the only way to succeed.
Always remember that any "diet" you attempt has to be a diet that you can stick to for life. Otherwise when you go back to eating your normal way, the weight will come back too.
