View Full Version : Shoe Dilema..

I will start off by acknowledging that YES I am crazy, just so that is out of the way.. phew.. Here is my dilema.. I am getting married outside in the country.. picture lots of dirt and dried grass because it will be september.. I fell in LOVE with this beautiful full length gown.. (that is where the crazy oart comes in.. how I am going to get the dirt out of the dress is beyond me) I think it is called the Athena.. the lady called it a "greek Goddess" dress...

My problem is I need a pretty shoe.. something strappy but I would prefer a somewhat 'chunky' heel, so I don't sink.. and It has to have the big toe separation strap (is there a name for that????) ...it just bugs me to have my feet slide thru and toes hang over!

Any thoughts..

I'm wearing flip-flops so I can't be of much help :) I went for comfort because my dress hides my feet totally.

I agree a big heel or even a wedge type shoe would be best. You don't want to go sinking in the dirt :)

I live in flip flops.. but the front of my dress will be cut to show a bit of the shoes.. (trying to keep some of it out of the dirt) and I could use a little help in the height dept.. I am 5'4 and he is 6'1

How bout a heel something like this? It's not too pointy so you wouldnt sink. I found it on one of the sites referenced in an earlier post.

If it's and outdoor wedding, You will sink in the grass. That was my style heel, and I found myself standing on my tiptoes during pictures

www.shoebuy.com (http://www.shoebuy.com)

all great shoe sites.

i'd recommend getting shoes that are wedges for the grass so you don't sink. i think the one that you selected is very pretty but you will sink in that. good luck

These are mine. They are BCBG Matana. They dont have the chunky heal but these shoes are 100xprettier in person. They sparkle like crazy...I actually bought these before I even knew what my dress was....Of course anyone who knows me would have expected that. lol.

It is ok, we all are crazy. I am getting married on the beach and I am wearing a full princess gown. I love my dress, however, I am wearing flip flops during the ceremony and reception. I do have pretty clear Cinderelle shoes that I will be wearing during pictures and my first dance. Keep us posted on what you find. However, since your dress is full lenght, it will cover up your shoes a little.

All the shoes are lovely, though some are more suitable for outdoors than others. The "toe thingy" is a thong (no, not the underwear kind).

Also check www.weddingtennies.com. They have everything from actual decorated sneakers to flip-flops, platforms, stilettos, etc.

Good Luck!
