Hi everyone!!!!!
I need some ideas. My finance and I are planning to get married on Halloween this year. Since Halloween is on Wednesday this year we are trying to decide if we want to get married on Wednesday with our immediate families and then on Friday or Saturday evening following having our reception. This reception of course would be a big Halloween party, complete with our guests dressing up. I was thinking about a gothic/ghoulish theme. I just wanted some feedback to see what other people would think about this idea. If anyone has any ideas on anything about a halloween reception, please let me know!!!!
Thanks!!!!:D

I personally love the idea. I had even thought about that at one point with my own wedding. I decided on a "fall themed" wedding because I'm sure no one would participate in the dress up part.
I wouldn't take it too goth or anything but I think you could make a very cool wedding with a Halloween theme.

Oh how fun!!!! I think it'd be a blast!!!!
I think there might even be a way of combining the Halloween/dress up idea with the Goth idea, without scaring off (pun intended) family members and friends who don't fully embrace the Goth stylings: How about getting very specific with the theme, and going with classic (OLD) horror flick-themed costumes and decor, like Frankenstein (and Bride of Frankenstein, of course), Dracula, etc.... you could do lots of black, and crushed velvet, and elaborate candelabras... (think darkly romantic rather than gory or scary).
You could even decorate the reception hall with framed movie posters from those old movies... and other shows/characters (like the Addams Family, Munsters, and Dark Shadows) would tie in well, too!

I was in this costume store a couple years back looking for costumes for my boys, when I heard this couple talking about their wedding. They were going with a halloween themed wedding as well and were also going to ask their guests to dress up for the wedding and reception. The best part about their plan, I think, was having him dress up in an orange jumpsuit (prison wear) with ball and chain, and her dress up as a police officer. They were also saying that they were going to have all the groomsmen in white and black striped suits along with all the bridesmaids in police officer outfits. It seemed like a really cool idea. Halloween is my favorite holiday of all time but my FH wouldn't allow us to be married on that day. So enjoy it and welcome to OneWed!

Hey, My Fiance Of 6 Years And I Are Having A Masquerade Ball Wedding On Halloween This Year And We Are Going To Be Marie Antoinette And Louis Xvi. The Whole Bridal Party Is In French Revolutionary 1700 Style Clothes THAT ARE All About 50 To 160 Pricing. I Am Planning The Whole Thing Myself And There Will Be Trick Or Treating From Table To Table During Dinner (when Parents Are Drinking And Talking) For The Kids. I Ordered Scroll Invites That Are Amazing 50 For 5 Each I Think. I Am Having The Exact Marie Dress From The 2006 Movie Made For Me And The Louis Attire As Well. ($500 And $250) I Am Sooo Excited. For Favors I Am Getting Masks Off Ebay In Multiple Places For 2 To 15 Each For The Guests. The Table Centerpieces Are Chandeliers And Ostrich Feathers In Vases. The Cake Topper Is A Skeleton Couple Dancing And There Are Masks With Feathers On The Cake Too. At The Front Table There Will Be A Cauldron With A Bird Cage In It For Money Cards And There Will Be Dry Ice Under The Cage In The Cauldron For The Halloween Effect. Spooky Music Like Bach's Fugue In D Will Be Playing And Monster Mash, Time Warp, Marie Antoinette Movie Soundtrack, Thriller....ect.. Ive Got Ideas Coming Out Of My You Now What... So Let Me Know If You Need Any Help!
