These are my really cute DIY Bookmarks/Dave the Dates. my FSIL used a smilar idea for favors. Basically,
Step 1: I created a file that was 1.5" by 5" and within that image I added the background, photo, and the writing.
Step 2: I printed a test image to make sure my grammar and the bookmark looked the way I liked.
Step 3: I took the file down to my local Staples and had them print color copies of the bookmarks (about $4.00 for 60 bookmarks)
Step 4: I carefully cut out each bookmark.
Step 5: I returned to staples and had each bookmark laminated ($6.00) and then cut each out again.
Step 6: I took a single hold punch and cut out a hole at the top for ribon.
Step 7: I added Wilton favor embellishments (from Walmart $1.76 for 12) and satin edged ribon ($5.50 for 25 yards at the floral supply) and tied them in a pull through.
Step 8: I admired my work. =)
So for wayyy less than it would cost to be printed with my invitations (which I am also DIYing) I got a personalized photo save the date with metal embellishment!
These are going in a little brochure about the casino that im sending out to all of my guests. Most of them havent been to Jackson so by sending the brochure they can learn about Jackson and the area.
DIY super easy calligraphy in progress. =) Coming Soon...
No learning calligraphy or artistic skill required!!!
