Doesn't matter.
Jon and I signed the cards as Amanda and Jonathan D***. But we had a stamp made that said Mr. and Mrs. D*. So we used that :)

It really does not matter i do not think. I just wrote our last name. I had 65 thank yous to write, and after doing that for awhile I was tired. hahahaha

1 year? Really? Are you serious? here I am scrambling thinking I am being rude. Geez!!!!!! Thanks for making me feel better!!!!:D
you're not late. a lot of photographer's provide the photo thank you cards and it takes awhile for them to get everything done. i think most people expect them to take awhile!
back to the original question, i dont think it matters!

is it okay if i just make a clear lable with our name and address from my computer? AND do you write the return address on the front of the little envelope or on the back?

As for how to address them, I don't think it matters.
As for when to send them; I have always heard and recommened to send them within three months of your wedding day. Some people say within 3 weeks. Personally I think it is poor taste to wait a year; but then again, I guess I would rather get something late than not at all ;) However if you are that late, I would probably mention how you had been busy and not just forgotten.
Here is a "cheat sheet" for basic thank you notes ...
Dear | Darling | Dearest | Hello!

I would say no, the idea is to make them personal. They should be hand written and hand addressed.

But can't you use labels for the return address? That's what we're planning on doing (nobody notices the return address really anyway)

If you are not worried about etiquette then if doesn't really matter. But preprinted labels are often seen as lazy and impersonal in this kind of thing.
Me; I didn't care to be little Ms Etiquette when I did mine. We bought nice cards and the inside was printed, but they were hand signed. If I remember correctly we used labels on the outside too.

I used the clear labels with our address on for our thank you notes. when we had about 80 notes to write and get mailed, it was just easier. All the notes I've ever recieved have had the return addresses like that!

I wrote out the inside by hand (about a month and a half after the wedding) and then used the same preprinted labels as I had used for the wedding invitations for the envelopes. The inside was very personal, and I signed it with our first names. Our return address were labels I had purchased for the purpose, with Mr. and Mrs. M. C.... No one complained!! :D

I would be upset if it took me a year to get a TY. I plan to get mine out 2-3 weeks after wedding. Longer is acceptable but if I had given someone a gift and hadn't heard anything in 2 months I'd start to wonder if the card got misplaced or if they didn't get it at all.
