DH started school yesterday. I am so proud of him! The program he is doing is really fast past and is going to be hard. Monday and Wed. he has Chemisty for 4 HOURS from 8:30am-12:30pm and then Math for 4 HOURS from 5:45pm-9:45pm both days. And then he has to work all of the other days. He didn't qualify for ANY grants or anything, its so lame! If we had a kid he could get EVERYTHING paid for, i don't thinkk thats fair, its like we are getting punished for not having a baby. So he has to get a ton of student loans. This school is so expensive but its the only one with this special Radiology with conectration in nuclear med. that takes about 3.5 years. But he has to go in the summer too. That means we aren't going to be seeing eachother as much as usual. But he will be making really good money when he is done.

I need to try to figure out what I am going to do. I just don't want to start school if i have no idea what i want to do. And i hate school. I just hate it! I have been searching and searching online for something I could do;..but nothin! My passion is animals. I know that. I could be a vet tech but i really don't think I would be mentally okay after having to put animals to sleep. I am a very emotional person. I can't even watch animal cop shows, i will just get depressed and cry.lol.

Any advice on how you all chose your careers?

I kind of fell into my career. I do web design and other computer related stuff and someone just took a chance on me and hired me and trained me. Later I got a degree in Interior Design, but I haven't used it yet. Maybe someday!

Most colleges show the different majors/ minors you can choose from. Go through the books and choose a few that sound interesting to you, then research them. Find out what the job market is, maybe even talk to someone doing that job.

I'm still trying! I went to college and got a business degree, so I can still pretty much do whatever. Just remember that if you choose to go straight into the workforce, you don't have to stay with your first choice. I thought I would like retail, so I tried it, now I know it's not for me. Unfortunately I am on the verge of becoming somewhat depressed about the whole situation b/c I have been applying to TONS of jobs for the last month and haven't even had 1 interview yet :(. I would also suggest getting online and searching for jobs with animal as a keyword to see what pops up. My career counselor told me to do that just to see what types of jobs are out there and what they entail. Don't even put in your city, just search the whole US. And about the vet tech-yeah you would have to put animals down, but you would also get to save them, so would the good not outweigh the bad for you? I don't know, I'm just asking! As far as choosing career do you have a colleg near your house? Go speak to an academic advisor. There are SOOO many majors and stuff out there that can help you do what you want. that is the first step. Or find something you really would like to do and ask them what kind of schooling you need to get there!!!! :D

I also knew I wanted to work with families and intimacy problems. So I got my certification as a sex therapist. Now I work with sex offneders and that too is not what I had in mind.

I guess the point of the story is you just learn to go with the flow and follow your heart. I am very satisfied where I am and as long as I'm happy, then I'll continue working in this field. :) Good luck hun!

I also have always been interested in mental health. Growing up going to visit my brother twice a week in a youth lock down facility (basically jail) i always was interested in being a guard or something. I wish I could open an animal shelter, but you'd have to have money first to do that. Or some kind of pet service.

i always wanted to become a doctor and just kept going with that. it's a long painful road but i'm done with medical school now so it's worth it. and trust me, i know about student loans! the avg med school student graduates with $150,000-$225,000 of debt and that's not including college if you had any!

i woudl second the suggestion about talking to an advisor. sometimes your career just falls into your lap and other times you have to do some searching.

This is going to sound odd, but I picked my career (I'm a paralegal) out of a college catalog. I just couldn't decide what I wanted to do, so I picked a program that sounded interesting and sure enough - I love it!

If you love animals, and you want a career working with them, you could definitely do something that doesn't involve putting them down.

Since DH started school on Monday (i know, only been 3 days and im already complaining) I NEVER SEE HIM! He is glued to his studying chair! I know its a GOOD thing, but i miss him. I am just so used to us being together all the time. O well.

Just as a suggestion...Social work is a great field. It's not the best paying in the world but you have so many avenues you can take. It's best to get your master's degree (which if you go to a NASW accredited school that only takes one year). Anyhow you can work with the elderly, drug and alcohol, marital counseling, children and youth, etc. etc. etc. Anyhow, there are a ton of different avenues you can take with that carreer.

I'm finishing up my degree BSW then I go on for my MSW then it's all the liscensing and boards..It's not the best pay in the world...But, if you have a Master's Degree you're looking at some better pay plus after a few years of experience you can also run programs.

About my sister in law wedding:

DH sister is getting married on June 30 to the mayor's son. They are both crazy smart people and met in a private school when they were like 16. And now they are 22. So they've been together forever, but mostly long distance. She went to school in NC (Davidson College, smart smart smart) and he went somewhere in Chicago. Her wedding is going to be HUGE. Like 500 people. Its a TON of political people bc of her fiances dad. She has 9 BM!! DH is a groomsman. The reception is at this REALLLLLLLY nice restuarant here in town that is so expensive. They rented out the whole place, upstairs and downstairs. Its going to be crazy! Its VERY formal. I could be jealous bc her FH's dad is the mayor and also owns a huge part of Pilot & they have a private jet and he is a freakin billionaire and her FH is about to be the president there and he is already rich as ****. So she went to school for so long and now doesn't even have to do that major. She can do whatever she wants. Doesn't even HAVE to work if she doesn't want to. They just bought a house.(i am jealous about that!) and its really nice. They are going to Bermuda on their honeymoon. She is so lucky.

You willl be allowed to go to the dinner and rehearsal and such I am sure. Nick and I allowed girlfriends/boyfriends wives/husbands of people in our bridal party to come to everything.
While pictures are being taken and such you will be a regular guest and not have to worry about a thing, except to find a seat. :) After the wedding if they are doing a head table, usually the significant others are allowed to sit at the head table as well, or they will put them at tables with their parnters, that is what we did. But no worries, you will show up with the guests to watch the wedding, then when pictures are being taken you can hang back and wait for DH so you can ride together to the reception or you can take off and get your seat with everyone else. Totally up to you!!!

You don't have to, but you can. If you wanted to find someone like his dads girlfriend or something. If she is in the same boat it may be nice to ride with her and sit with her and stuff. That way you both can sit together and you can get a better seat. :)

It really probably is. I remember I started taking birth control and gained about 20 pounds. It really does mess with your weight. I am off of it now and my weight is finally getting regulated. I guess weight gain is a small price to pay when you are not ready to have a baby. But it really does screw with your weight adn stuff.

talk to your dr about your birth control...there are so many types and they dont' all cause a weight gain. i'm on yasmin and never had any weight gain with it. in fact it was originally tauted to make you lose weight because of the water pill aspect of it.

but anyway, there are so many types, no reason to stay on one that makes you gain weight so talk to your Dr. about it :)

i have been gaining weight for the past like 2 or 3 years. I used to be a size 3 when i met DH now i have gained literally 40 lbs. Its sick. And I have gained more since the wedding, almost 8 LBS(and its only been a month!). I know in the beginning alot of it was the pill. After i started taking it when i was 16, i IMMEDIATLY started gaining. But anywho, so im a huge cow right now and i just saw my mom and i have heart burn and she was like ARE YOU PREGNANT bc i have heartburn.....and bc i know she knows im so fat. But DANG its sooo rude to ask that i think! I didn't even know you got heartburn when you're pregnant.

You do get heartburn when you are pregnant, but that does not mean that you are. The only way to tell is by missed period or a PG test. But it is not likely that you are if you are on BC.
Don't worry about it, as long as you are healthy that is all that matters. I call it happy married fat for me. But again, don't worry about it. DH will love you no matter what and it is rude for people to ask if you are pregnant, even if it is your mother.

I did go to school, I was in college for four years and I met DH on the summer after my freshman year. It was hard because I had study groups, late classes, studying, reading homework etc and we spent A LOT of time apart. Its not easy, but the pay back is great as I have a great job and we were able to fund things we want. But while I was in school we fought a lot and it was stressful. So be supportive, its OK to be lonely because DH is working nights now for me and I have to find things to do. Its not easy and I feel what you are going through. You always have us. :)

Well my grandpa and dad started this manufactoring business long long time ago and it grew really big and they just sold it a lil over a year ago to this reallly big company called Donaldson, (my g-pa and g-ma and dad all worked there) so now the grandparents are retired and my dad still has this little dirtbike business and im the only worker.lol.And my mom doesn't work and watches my sisters kid.But now she is bored and wants to work.

It is such a big deal here in Vermont. People love their dogs and have people come over and walk them, feed them, play with them while they are at work! It makes some great money. We also have doggie daycares where we bring them somewhere that has a playground for dogs, Taebo went there and got socialized and really is a good thing for him. We are hoping to do that with Moose as well!!! Its a great job!

aw my friend from middle school that i talk to on facebook just got married on Saturday and some of her candid pictures are up. They are cute. Except her bridesmaids dresses are really light pink and the detail on the top looks almost just like her wedding dress, so in the pics they all look like they are wearing white wedding dresses. i have some happy news. I don't know if anyone remembers but before my wedding my brother was in some trouble bc of warrants and stuff and i had to tell him he couldn't be the best man bc i didn't want cops crashing my wedding looking for him (it happens). Well so he has been "hiding" for a long time. No job, just a low life LIFE. ANyways but on Friday night they raided his house and he went to jail. he got his warrants taken care of and has to pay a fine, then he had to get sent to this other town like 30 min. from here for a different warrant. Got that taken care of. AND HE IS FREE!!!! HE got out yesterday. He just has to finish up his probation(community service) and pay his fines and he is cleared of everything! He really thought he was going to prison for running for so long. SO he is so happy, and says he will never get in trouble again. I am praying he is being for real, and grows up. He has been doing this his whole life and its time to grow up for good.

I am not having a good morning! Okay you know how my bro just got out of trouble? Well he needs help getting his life back together. He has a crappy broken down car that is at this mans house. I don't even know if the car is fixable,but if he doesn't move it from this guys house then the guy is just going to keep it so he has to find a place to store it until he "gets a job and gets it fixed"(which WHO KNOWS WHEN will happen). ANyways so my dad hates my brother and won't let him put the car in his garage (even though he just had an extra "shop" built in his yard with 4 extra car spaces). So my mom asked if he could park it at my house.......well how TRASHY does it look to have a piece of poop broken down smashed up car parked in the yard for months and months..............REALLY TRASHY. We don't have a driveway its jsut a little gravel area....and sometimes we have to move our cars to mow around the gravel area. And my mom was like JEN he needs help or he isn't going to make it in life. I said i guess he can but i have to run it by Evan. GOSH its going to look so nasty with 3 cars parked basically in the grass bc we have no driveway and one that doesnt work....and i know my bro won't get a job any time soon. okay i talked to her and they threw ANOTHER counter offer and she was kinda annoyed that they did that. UH BUT i don't UNDERSTAND ANY OF THIS!!!!!! SO Evan is calling her right now. THey will ONLY pay 1500 for repairs including electrical (which is like $3000 if it needs it!!!!) so thats crappy. And i am pretty sure it needs new electrical bc the box is so old has glass knobs so REALLY OLD! But we can get that factored in with our mortgage....so i still think its a good deal. A 40 yr old home in a nice neighborhood with brand new wiring for 81000. THey asked 79,900,but we said we'd jack the price up a little bit if theyd pay closing cost bc we can't pay it....so i tihnk they agreed on that. but gosh i donno im so confused!

I hear ya, it sounds like you guys need to sit down with his parents and just discuss what is going on. Just remember that this is your first home, first marriage etc. Its his parents and they just want to be involved in as much in his life as possible. His dad isn't married, so its just him...and his gf. I know there is nothing I can do because Evan won't say anything. But...my parents arent doing this, AT ALL. I just know he is going to just be stopping by all the time cause this new house is closer to his dads house. yeah! it was good to see her but she only stayed for 2 hours AND she is always texting!!!!! Everytime I am with her she is non stop texting people and it makes me feel uncomfortable bc she prob. is talking about me,lol. and its rude!!

WOW, yesterday i got a call at 7am, it was my mom saying that my neice, her, and my dad were all sick barfing. AND that my nephews mom was sick too and was going to the hospital again. So i had to watch Conner and miss work(and man i really wanted to work too..hehe) but I had him for 10 hours and I was so freaking exhausted when i took him home. Our house isn't baby proof at ALL so that was really annoying and made it hard. He was kinda grumpy cause he was sick a a few days ago. AND i had a terrible tension headache that had been hurting since the DAY BEFORE and still hadn't gone away. I took so many exedrine and nothing helped. ITs like on the very bottom of my head/very top of my neck. And the muscle on the left side hurts so bad, shooting pains. ANd it feel so tight when when i touch it with my hand. And it never went away til i went to sleep,but now it is starting to hurt again. UHHHH!!!!! Oh and umm i think I want to wait to have a baby...lol Conner was ALOT of work. But i think it was bad cause of my head and we didn't have that many toys and I had to just keep in in the l ivingroom so he wouldn't get hurt AND i had to keep my dogs outside in the HEAT cause they bark and scare Conner. SO UHHH me and Evan need to start being CAREFUL if you know what i meannnnnnnn!

Yes kids are a lot of work, but just remember that kids that are YOURS are much easier to atke care of as they know their surrondings, their toys, your parents etc. So it is easier. but children are NOT easy.

OHH you know how i am really annoyed at FIL? WELL HE did it again!!!! I just got a call from our realtor and she said she talked to Robert(FIL) and he was mad about something to do with the contractor...how we were choosing which to use or something!! UMMMM first of all WE make the decisions, 2nd of all if he thinks something is not right he needs to tell US first and have US call the realtor if we agree with him And 3rd of all he DOES NOT need to contact OUR realtor. We have no idea what he is talking about or what he is mad about because he has not said anything to us. It is just gone too far, he acts like he is buying this house. I said to Evan "don't you see how this is out of hand now?" and he said yes.

Evan when we went to pick our Evans tux and GM tuxes his dad for some reason wanted to meet us there. And all he did was ***** about how the lady wasn't measuring right and he was being so rude bc he said she was going to fast...i would've thought he wanted to be there to pay for Evans tux...but nope he didn't do that. UHHH!!!

I am sorry about your FIL I would get upset as well, that would just push on my last nerves. My MIL is like that, she wants everything perfect, wants to be involved with everything. When we picked out our tuxes she had to come with his dad to get fitted and said she didn't like the tux, the color, the shoes etc. I am sorry. But, just know that when you are moved in you do not have to deal with this again. Its always something, marriage, kids, houses etc. But its family.. I would have a talk with Evan and see what his thoughts are on this. Good luck

So i did end up getting sick...i didn't go to work on Friday. But i am fine now.

I picked out our carpet color. They only gave us 3 colors to choose from. One was really light white, one was a darker white that i liked, and one was a darker tan. I chose the tan because of dirt and hair factor. I hope it looks good! Im scared.
OH and we got a ticket on Saturday.....sucked cause i couldn't find my insurance card..only had an expired one but the cop was nice and said we could just show it when he went to court. Evan was driving of course(we got pulled over about 4 months ago when he was driving too) he was going 14 over the limit but the cop said if he put that then it would mess up Evans lisence points so he put we were only going 5 over, so that was real nice. DUMB EVAN needs to slow down!!!!

This new side by side 4 wheeler called a Razor....they aren't even out yet, but they both got one and they got GPS for them and all this ****...and im just sitting here like, um could you please just like BUY ME SOMETHING?!!! We don't close until next Friday. But i went and looked at the new carpet and it looks really good. So next Saturday, we will start to paint and then we want to put in the new kitchen floor (snap together hardwood) before we move it. We don't have to be out of our other house until Oct. 5th so we have lots of time before we have to start movieng everything. BUT I CAN'T WAIT! And hopefully the fence will be up before we move so the DAY OF the move the doggies will have a yard. I can't wait to just see them RUN FREE its going to be so cute!!!!

Sounds like things are coming together. It's good that you have allowed yourself some time between, so you don't have to be in a huge hurry to get things done!!

We used that snap together laminate flooring in our living room, hallway and computer room. I love it...except when it comes time to wash it. Right after I wash it, it is soooo dull. After we walk on it awhile, it shines up...but it's so irritating to me.

OHHH MAN FIL crossed the line AGAIN!!!!!!!! OKAY so the 10 day inspection period is over so we aren't technically allowed to go in the house (our realtor had given us the code during the inspection period so we could go in without a realtor). So Evan said no we can't go in again....umm sooo the other night Evan got a call from his dad and he said earlier that day he took Hannah (Evans sister) and Hannahs friend who was in town to the house...and they went INSIDE...without even ASKING or TELLING us!!!!!!! I WAS SOOOO MAD!!!! The inside of the hosue looks horrible right now & i didn't want ANYONE to see it until i at least got to PAINT!!!!!! ITS JUST SO RUDE for him to think he can go in MY house without asking!!!!!!!!! And Evan won't say ANYTHING and he is just goint to keep doing things like this if someone doesn't say something. I want to write him an email but im to scared. Just saying like PLEASE don't take anyone else in the house, i really didn't want anyone seeing it until i fixed it up.........UH!!!!!!!

What do you have for flooring? We had carpet and it wasn't too hard to get up. Bruce & I finished the living room...Jeremy had started it. I didn't think it was too difficult. It's kind of hard on the knees though. You're on them a lot.
