Hey guys! I am writing to you actually while on my honeymoon. It's early and we don't feel like going out yet because its only like 8 am lol.

Soooo here is the story about our wedding/honeymoon!

First off, as most of you know Matthew lost his passport the day before the wedding. Not good for a couple who had planned to go to Mexico on their honeymoon! Well needless to say, I was sooo upset I was sick. We couldn't find it ANYWHERE his parents searched their house from 8 am that morning until 3 am the day of the wedding. Soooo instead of not going anywhere we made the choice to drive down to Florida and make the best of it. And actually on the way from the ceremony to the reception, our travel agent called and said the resort is only going to make us be out $300 a person! So we got $1,000 of the $1,600 we spent on the resort, and for our airfare, we have a one year credit and we will just have to pay $100 a ticket to get them changed.

So right now we are at a hotel right on the gulf of Mexico in Clearwater, Florida. I am actually really excited to be here and it is really nice. We got in last night, and we have already seen tons of birds and even some starfish laying on the beach! hehe Matt picked one up and put it back into the ocean lol. We laid out in chairs (we were the only ones out there too!) and watched the sun go down.

We got here and had a surprise too! Matt's best man's girlfriend, her grandma lives here in clearwater, and Heather (Matt's best man's girlfriend) had called her grandma to ask for suggestions on which hotel to stay in. Well she found out which one we chose and she left us a basket here for when we checked in, it has candy and candles in it, so sweet of her!

Okay now I'll post about the wedding...

OH! also we got the ever penny back from the already booked transportation from the cancun airport to the resort, so $130 back. ALSO we got everything but $7 back from the $60 we paid in advance to park our truck at the airport in Indy hehe, we got lucky there!

The wedding went GREAT. It was nice and the reception went great as well.... hmm I thought I would have more to post about that, but really there isn't a lot to say other than it was really nice.

Oh except... The sound guy forgot to hit record on my video camera until the ring ceremony part. lol... and then on the way to Florida (17 hour drive) I accidentally recorded over like 2 mins of the start. So we really only have like 10 mins of the ceremony lol. Oh well at least we have the kiss haha

hehe now I will tell you about how Matt and I are the most unlucky couple ever

So after we left the reception we went to his house real quick so he could change out of his tux and put his suit on, and then I changed out of my dress and put my rehersal dress on to be more comfortable. Plus my wedding dress was SOOO dirty on the bottom. Wellll about half of the way to Indy Matt's truck starts smoking! We have to pull over. While we were pulled over a few semi's went by and I opened my door to tell him to be careful because they were going by fast and not getting over. Well I had been uploading pictures from my camera so my cord was still plugged in to my laptop and the camera on the other end of the cord. Well we pulled away after looking at the truck to go to a gas station. We heard this strange noise like a popping noise, kind of like we were kicking up gravel.... well I look down and half of my camera cord is hanging out the door... I look around and think OH NO! My camera is on the other end of that... or at least it was!

So needless to say I was really upset, but was able to keep my composer because I had already uploaded the wedding pictures from the camera and I was really thankful for that, so we pull over and surly enough my camera was not on the other end. So I just kept thinking GREAT what else can happen, I'm sure it has been ran over.

So we make it to the gas station and Matt's grandpa and uncle get there to check it out (I hadn't wanted to see ANYONE until after the honeymoon) and they said sadly it was unsafe to drive. So we transfer ALL of our stuff luggage and all to his grandparents car to drive to the hotel. WELL!! I looked in my purse and thank God, I had already taken my camera off of the cord and put it in my purse! I don't remember taking it off! I was sooo happy. So I have my camera.

The rest of the night went great, and the next morning we left Indy and headed back to my parents house so we could give my mom Matt's grandma's car so she could drive it for the week (the original plan was that we were going to leave her Matt's truck to drive and take her car for better gas) So we get there, everything is good. They leave to go to the reception hall to clean up. We leave too, to start our 17 hour drive. 5 mins later I get out my camera and turn it on, and it says error, see user guide! It had JUST worked that morning! So we hadn't gotten quite passed the reception hall, so we stopped in to see if my mom had her camera on her, (she has the exact same one) thankfully she did, and I just gave her mine and put my memory card in hers.

SOOO we were finally on our way. Our first day of driving went great, we stopped in Macon, GA at like 11pm to sleep. Well when we woke up we only had 354 miles to drive on one road called 75, and then like 20 on another. Well we turned the TV on, and oh, surprise surprise! Florida has 200 fires going on right now and that road we are suppose to go 354 miles on is closed because of smoke!!! erg so we had to try to find another route because they siad if you try to take 75 it will take you 12 hours to go that 354 miles. So we look at the atlas, find another route that would take us longer, but not 12 hours. Well we were driving and almost to the point were we had to take another road, and we called the GA state police and the first lucky thing happened! The just opened the roads back up hehe

So we are here :)

Sorry I know this is long, I just wanted to update you. I'll post one or two pictures in just a second, then we are going to get ready to go enjoy the day (oh because we are so lucky all week there is between 40-60% chance of thunderstorms every day haha).

You guys are together, you guys are well and you are going to have a great time together as husband and wife. It sounds like it was one thing after another... But everything always turns out in the end!!!!

Hey~That is one crazy honeymoon story. I'm sorry to say, but it was kind of funny, too. I'm sure it wasn't during the time it was all happening but WOW...you can never say your day was boring. I know the road you are talking about on I75. I've been down that same path several times between Kentucky, where I live now, and southern Florida. I've stayed in Macon, GA, too..it's a good point to stop when traveling to Florida. I used to live in Naples, FL and have been to Clearwater beaches a few times. They have some the the BEST beaches in the whole state IMO. You lucked out, girl. I hope you two have a blast. Sounds like you've already got a great sense of humor about everything. Can't wait to see more pictures!

So Matt's in the shower so I thought I would sneak on and take a look around for a min!

We are going to have a really chill night tonight, going out for pizza, and then taking my laptop out to the beach and watching a movie. Our room has a microwave in it, so we might buy some popcorn too

Last night was soooo fun! Every night, weather permitting they have a thing at the pier. They had live entertainment and there were venders all along the pier. Matt and I bought this one wire thing... when we get back and get it in the mail I'll have to take a picture and show you, its pretty neat, and it says our names and clearwater beach on it.

Tomorrow night we booked a sunset cruise on this boat http://www.captmemo.com/ It's going to be a blast. We have seen the boat out and about and we decided to do that instead of a dinner cruise. We wanted to have fun, and we weren't sure how "fun" the dinner cruise would be, so we are doign the one where they dress up, and go to a deserted island and stuff. We also get to see dolphins, so I am pretty excited! It's from 7-9.

Here are a few pictures from the website... http://www.captmemo.com/blowups/shipl.jpg

Oh! One of the things they had at the pier was this guy who was a street performer, and he did a fire show, here is a picture that we took---

How in the world I managed to miss this thread allll week long is beyond me. I was wondering what happened with you two. I told Chad all about how the passport was lost and then all weekend I was telling him that I wondered what happened. I am such a goofball. Well, it sounds like y'all had one interesting beginning to your honeymoon! I am at my parents house for the weekend so I thought I would stop by and say hi! Things are going well at our new home. We both start work again on Tuesday. He will be returning again to the Graduate building, BUT I don't remember if I had time to tell you guys this or not, but the wednesday before the wedding I got a call saying I got a job at a teacher at a Christian day care. I will be working with 8-12 y/o kids. It's pretty sweet because I get my own classroom and everything. So that will be full time this summer and then when my classes pick back up in the fall we will see what happens then.

Speaking of classes, I am taking two 'directed study' classes this summer. Which means I don't actually go to a physical class, but I do have to read books and turn in papers and take tests by certain dates and stuff. But because of everything going on, I am being allowed to take them from home.

My camera is broke. Like just broke. I took it to best buy to see if they could tell me what was wrong with it, and he said it could cost as much as $400 to fix it.... It only cost $150! ERG! But the new model of mine (since mine is a year a half old they don't make mine anymore) is $120, so Matt might get it for me for my birthday in June. I hope he gets it early for me though hehe.

As soon as I am able to get a camera though I am sooooo excited to show you our decorated apartment! It is crazy how different it looks from the empty apartment that we moved into. It looks so much better. I can't wait to show you guys! Maybe I will be able to talk Matt into getting me the camera early.... We did just get another wedding check in the mail for $100 from my aunt hmmm haha

BUT for my job I had to get a physical and a two step TB test. Well we don't have insurance yet blah. Because neither of us get it through work and its darn expensive to just pay. So it cost us $125 yesterday to get my work physical. I really wish the day care would have paid for it... but they didn't lol

ALSO on my mom's insurance my birth control pills (I took them for cramps) were only $15 a month. NOW without insurance they will be almost $50 a month. But if we can't get insurance through work, because of not being full time staff... we are just instead pretty much working full time but not considered full time employees since it isn't going to be full time year round. If we pay for insurance ourselves we might be paying more than if we just pay for the birth control and doctors visits as they come, AS LONG as we don't have a big medical condition come up, and seeing as we are almost 20 and almost 22 I am just praying that doesn't happen soon anyways.

The only other thing I am worried about is if for some reason God wants us to have a baby and I become one of the 1% that gets preg. even on the pill. Then we would have to get some sort of insurance.

So basically the whole insurance thing is kinda stressful, but we are just leaving it in God's hands at the moment.

I'm so gald you stopped by! I hope you get your internet soon, b/c you are missed when you aren't around!

I totally understand about the insurance thing!! After I graduated I didn't have insurance for about 3 months (I had to wait until my 60 day probationary period was up) and it was very nerve wracking! My main worry was getting into an accident or something and having to pay an arm and a leg to get medical care. Every time I drove anywhere I was praying nothing happened lol. So will you all be getting insurance once school starts again or anything? If not, one of you could try to find a part time job that gives benefits. I'm not sure if there are any around you that offer that, but I know that Kohl's does, so you could try to check into that. It's a tough situation to be in!

Yes it is nerve wracking! Well Matt works 40 hours a week for our college, but they aren't giving us insurance because he is just a student worker putting in 40 hours a week... erg frustrating. But he is going to try to get a title in the office he works in as a 'full time employee' and that would give us insurance.

The thing that is frustrating though too, is we went to the health department since we have low income right now (only about $480 week before taxes) and we figured we could get some sort of health care card for low income people until we could get everything straightened out just to ease our minds. (plus the whole physical thing its hard to shell out $125 you didn't know you had to spend) well they said that unless we had kids they couldn't help us. They said that we went off and got preg. they could give us health care.

So they encouraged us to go out and have babies to work the system! Oh I was almost crying went I walked out, I was sooo frustrated. I was like so you are telling me that you can't help me unless we have a baby knowing that we can't pay for one so that we can be covered in case we get into an accident or something since we can't pay for health care at the moment, and she laughed in my face and was like yeah, pretty much.

I was soooooo ticked to know that we couldn't get help unless we got ourselves a kid. Like we will be fine, we aren't struggling to eat or anything we just thought we would give it a shot to cover our butts until we get it worked out since we would be considered low income since Matt's making under 7 and hour and I'm making under 8.50. We weren't asking for food stamps, we just wanted to be able to go to the doctor without paying a ton of money. That is why some of my taxes go for that right? I mean correct me if I am wrong.

So I was mad. lol not because we were denied because I wasn't sure if our income level would be low enough anyways, but she didn't even ask us our income, for all she knew we could be sleeping on the streets with a serious illness. And we would have been denied because we haven't popped out a few babies.

lol sorry that is my rant like of the year. It made me lose faith in the system that I thought was there to help people in tight situations.

It's awful isn't it! I know when I took a sociology of families class and we talked about the laws and stuff, it was almost ike rewarding peope who had a bunch of babies and no job and what not. I mean, I know there are some peope that really deserve the governments help, but there are some that deserve it and can't get it b/c they aren't in a bad enough situation. It sucks! I really hope Matt can get a full time title so he can get insurance!! Another thing you guys could consider is getting individual catastrophic insurance. When I looked at in Kentucky, it was pretty cheap (like 35-45 a month or something) for emergencys, but it still covered dr. visits and stuff but it wasn't great coverage. You guys will figure it out!

It all smoothed out and you are both just two amazing people for pulling together and just making the best out of everything that happened. I hope that you get the internet at your apartment soon!

I understand how you feel about the system. After my ex husband left me I had six weeks or maternity leave. That is six weeks with rent, a toddler, and a newborn. I had a little in my savings but not enough to last me six weeks!! I went to try and get some help and was denied. No offense to any immagrants but it urked me that most of the people there seeking assistance couldn't even speak english! I had both of the kids with me and just cried to the worker that went through all of my income. I said I have no money coming in, he left us high and dry what am I to do..I was told to file for child support. I said ok that takes a month to do so how am I to feed my kids, pay my bills with no money..She shrugged her shoulders and said sorry there's nothing I can do! I said well, I guess if I learned to speak fluent spanish, got a tan, and then came back I would get somewhere now wouldn't I..She said well, your chances would be better probably. So, that's when I lost my faith. I just wanted temporary help for six weeks until I was allowed to go back to work not take advantage of the system like so many others do. I totally

on the other hand....
My employer last year changed our insurance carrier to United Health Care. We didn't have any participating providers in our area and bi weekly it was almost 80.00 every two weeks. So, I went to State Farm and asked them about health insurance policies. I got a plan thru state farm called Assurant Health. I pay 130/ month which includes dental and vision for me and both of my boys. I don't know what you budget is but it's at least something to look into. You're premiums should be much less being that your married and have no children.

Anyhow, I can't wait to see the pro pics and good luck!!

I was going to just add to your rep but apparently I gotta spread the love! Just wanted to say that it must have been awful going through all that! I can't imagine! But your suggestion sounds like a great avenue for them-heck I might even look into after I find a new job b/c I will be without insurance for a little while!

oh sweetie I am so sorry you are going through this! It is never easy! It just stinks that after we are done school they kind just throw you to the wolves and encourage everyone to procreate when frankly we are not ready.
I wanted to get my bearings back after I graduated college, unfortunately insurance was not coming and I needed it so I had to get a job in order to get it. Kinda puts a damper on life when you have to think of things like that.
But you and Matt are so strong and I admire you both so much for your strength and faith, so as you said just see where it goes, try not to stress yourself to much and congratulations on your job offer. You are going places and there are always bumps in the road when you try and get there. But eventually you will find your way.
You have Matt and that sometimes is the best feeling in the world. And as always, you have us!!! Good luck darling!

I've been looking forward to seeing apartment pictures ever since you first posted the pics of you guys painting the kitchen! Sorry about your insurance situation. I lost faith in the system loooong ago. I grew up with a very sick mother, food stamps, free clinics, the whole 9 yards. There are many countries that have health care for all citizens. Maybe we'll get there one day! Try your hardest to find some inexpensive healthcare. You never know what life may bring!

I have been wondering about you too. I have been checking your wedding journal to see how everything went, and I hadn't seen anything until I figured out that you were doing this instead.

I loved all of your pictures. Thank you for sharing them with us. I am also sorry to hear about all of your insurance problems. I wish you the best. Can you not get insurance through your school as a student (I think you said you had one more year left). I have insurance through where I went to school. Since I just graduated, it lasts until the end of June and then I can get up to 180 more days if I need it (with paying of couse). See if you can do something like that. I wish you the best!

Are you two currently living in IL? If you are, you should looking into Illinois Medicare/Medicaid. I have my son on their All Kids program since I wasn't working while in college and don't make enough right now to pay for everything without insurance. It's free health insurance with no copay and prescriptions are little to nothing. They have something that's low-cost called Student Select that may work for you (https://www.studentselect.com/SS/Home/). They also have Healthy Women (http://www.illinoishealthywomen.com/), which is free like All Kids and will cover your birth control and yearly exams. There is also this (http://www.illinoishealthconnect.com/) which is a newer program that I believe is low or no cost.

There is always the option of buying a plan through a provider as well. My younger brother doesn't take enough courses per semester to be considered full-time so he's no longer covered under my parents' insurance. So they bought him a plan from Blue Cross Blue Shield (I believe it's called Blue Advantage - the cheapest plan they had) that costs between $100-$200/month I think. It covers the basic health and prescription coverage and works for him.

I hope this helps you a little bit. Good luck finding something. My FH has insurance through his work so I'm hoping that Zach and I can get onto his insurance (I don't have insurance at the moment) after we get married and it won't cost too much. Otherwise, Zach's still covered under All Kids so as long as he's covered that's what's most important to me. And once I get a teaching job I can always get insurance through them and teachers get pretty good rates I've heard.

That is so horrible about the insurance. I cant believe that they actually told you to have kids to work the system!! I have a kidney disease and had to have a transplant. Insurance is EXTREMELY important to me. We actually have to plan our lives around insurance. Clayton cant start a going to school to be an electrician until I graduate so that I will constantly be covered.

Your thoughts are welcomed!

Sorry I still don't have apartment pictures! As soon as I remember to bring my laptop with me to the library.

Blah so we had the tornado sirens going off today so we had about 70 loud talking kids in the hallway at the daycare I'm working at! On top of that, I am totally freaked out by tornados lol

Thanks guys for the nice comments! Sorry I am not around so much, Matthew and I still don't have the internet so it makes it hard to get online lol. Lucky for us we have our university library.

We are headed off to Champaign today to meet Matthew's parents for lunch then we are meeting my parents for a college summer league baseball game :) I'm pretty excited.

Other than that things are great, my job is a little stressful (the kids never want to listen, and laugh in your face if you tell them you are going to make them sit down at different tables if they don't stop stuff like that). But I got my first paycheck from them, so life is good hehe

We went to the bank today to change my name on the account. Ummmm I haven't changed my SS card yet though lol, but I have gotten a new license. (BTW the IL written test is the easiest test in the world! -- I changed not only my name but also from an IN card to an IL one)

I'm so glad you all liked our pictures, we have enjoyed them as well, and will be getting the book of them in less than 2 weeks now.

I'm awful though and totally forgot about apartment pics. They are taken! Just not uploaded :( hehe sorry!!!!! I'll try soon! Life is crazy hehe

I too just love the new hair! I think that it looks wonderful on you! Hopefully you'll like it more when you get used to it. For some reason I almost always hate my hair at first, but I always end up loving it! Love the apartment pics. It's so cute and looks like an awesome first apartment for you two.

So today is my birthday! Matt got me some Vera Bradley stuff.... In case you don't know it is a type of purse and they have wallets and stuff too. Well they have different patterns and stuff and my pattern just got retired! So he bought me a wallet and wristlet and mirror thing to match the pattern that I love and that my purse is in.

Here is the purse I have in the pattern. I love it :)

Plus they come out with patterns every so often that part of the of proceeds go to a breast cancer fund.

Today we are going to a cubs game in chicago. We are gonna leave here around 12:15 or so to take the Metra train into chicago then we have to take the red line, or "L" from downtown to Addison (in Wrigleyville). I'm excited because I love baseball, and I love the cubs, and we had an amazing win last night against the same team we are playing today (though knowing us we will prolly lose tonight haha), BUT I am also excited because a year ago tomorrow we went to a game in chicago and it was the same day he proposed. So while the game isn't one year to the day it is still the day before (since it is my birthday)

woo that was a lot of typing without periods lol. Anyways I'm excited :) The game is at 7:05 tonight, and instead of staying in chicago we decided to come back home. We are going to try to catch the 11:20 train back, but if we can't get back there in time we will hang out in Wrigleyville (they call the area around Wrigley that) until the 12:50 am train, which is the last train of the night. Sooo it may be a long night lol. Good thing I took tomorrow off too!

Our game went well, the cubbies won, so that is a good thing :)
We were unsure if they were going to play though. We got in the city and it started raining sooo hard. They said it rained 5 inches in less than 10 hours. Wrigley was literally flooded. They had to drain the field and even the dugouts because the dugouts were flooded. Somehow the grounds crew pulled it off and they were about to have the game, and they won 8-5.

Today they won too :)

Life's good for the most part, my job stresses me out, because the kids I work with have no respect, and sadly part of that probably is because the adults that I work with don't care about the kids at all and talk badly about them. I need the job for the summer, but when classes start in the fall I will be looking for something else. It is decent money and is really good experience but I can't continue to work with people who don't care about the kids and talk badly about them even in front of the kids.

The other day I was sitting outside the daycare with a child waiting for their parents and I said something to the child like that is enough we don't do that (I don't remember what they were doing, who knows probably talking back) and one of the other teachers walked out the door to go home and looked at me and was like "there's not enough chocolate and drugs in the world is there"

I work in a daycare that has gangs and there is quite a bit of violence. I live about 8 miles from there and its a totally different world where I live. That city is the worse DCFS city per capata (sp?) in the state. So yes lets talk about the need to use drugs because you don't like the children IN FRONT OF A CHILD that attends there. They are all like that. It is a Christian day care and yet I have heard several of the teachers cursing even in front of the children... not just your normal *amn and *hit, but the F word. Which is totally uncalled for. I hate that word to begin with, but to use it in front of the children at a Christian daycare. It just stresses me out that they don't care about the children and they just sit at a table and don't interact with the children.

BUT it's only for like 2 more months, a little less than that actually. And if they ask me why I am leaving (it was already set that I would only be there for the summer, but that I may be able to continue in the fall) I will tell them the reason why I won't be continuing in the fall.

Other than that, I'm great :)

lize566
06-27-2007, 11:57 PM
That is just awful! It makes me sick that people like that can not only work with children but also have them in an attempt to raise them! I LOVE children, and there is so not enough attention paid to the fact that they are the future and can only be as successful as the tools given to them by their parents and caregivers. Hopefully you can make it a little better for a child or two!

mlm063007
06-28-2007, 12:07 AM
Oh no! I missed it! Happy Late Birthday!!!!!

I cant believe that about the daycare where you work. I worked in a daycare and loved every minute of it! I cant even begin to imagine that the adults talk to the kids like that, or even in front of the kids like that. I dont know that I would be able to work in a place like that either. It is so sad to see a young child with so much potential be labled a "problem child" just because no one will take the time to work with them. I can completley understand why you would want to quit in the fall.

Im glad that the Cubs game wasnt called off. Although, I cant say that I am all that glad they won (Cardinals fan here) :D j/k At least somebody can play a decent game. The Cards cant win ANYTHING. I went to a game a few weeks ago and could hardly stand to watch it. I have NO idea how they won the World Series last year!

I was in the same kind of daycare experience... Our director was a money grubber.. And would do anything possible to keep our paychecks little, and hers big. She had TONS of kids, and most the time not enough teachers.. And she didn't screen those teachers well enough.. I would be working in the toddler room and hear teachers talking about ABORTIONS in the BABY room.. >.< Disgusting. Our rooms were only divided by some lower shelves, so... Anyway, i feel your pain ::Huggle:: Please keep up with your good work, and look for jobs to get you the heck out of there!!

Thanks guys for the support about the daycare :)

Matt and I had our last unhealthy food day yesterday. We had homemade pizza with tons of toppings for dinner haha.

My parents have a weight watchers point counter thing, so we are going to start counting points. I wish we could go to meetings, but I dk how much they are ect. I mean Matt's mom has lost like 30 lbs on it or something like that and now helps out with the meetings. She looks great too!

I want to lose about 25lbs. that would put me at about 110. That might sound like a pretty low weight, but I am only 4'11 and 110 would be a good weight for my height, at least I think so. I've got a lot of extra weight on me that I want to lose. I want to lose it before we decide to have a baby. I know that I will gain weight again when I get preg. but it will be different.

Soooo that's what is going on right now :)

Oh the mall near us had fireworks last night and they lasted for like 45 mins, they were great too! We will see more on wednesday up north. I love fireworks!

So even with the 4th and all that bad food that is offered during that holiday, we have still lost 2lbs each since Sunday :) So that is rather exciting hehe

anyways! I have a few stories for you and some pictures. We went to a friends for the 4th and come to find out his g/f who we are also good friends with, her dad owns a plane and can fly it! I didn't even know until she was like well my parents are out at the airport lets go see them, and we pull up and there they are with a plane, and he's like well wanna go up? lol its by FAR the smallest plane I've ever been on, and probaby will ever go on. So for another exciting story!

We went to the fireworks, and in their town/city there is a river that goes through it, kinda like in Chicago if you've spent time there before. Well there are like 4 bridges in a row and then there is a bend in the river. They block off the bridges to traffic and they light the fireworks at the bend and it makes for a great view. Well we were on one of the bridges (its normally a 4 lane bridge) and we were jam packed on there and it was of course sooo hot. Well right before the grand finale I hear screaming and I look to my right and a ton of people are like running towards us like you would see in the movies. like you see on TV from Sept. 11th, and I am like omg what is wrong. My first thought was that the bridge was overloaded and that it was falling. Matt thought a car had went through the gates and was coming on the bridge.

So there is crazy and eveyone is kinda going nuts, well I hear someone yell someone about a gun (this is in downtown Rockford btw). I look at Matt and I am like I want out of here NOW. So people are like grabbing their stuff quickly but we were towards the end of the bridge and the issue was happening on the end of the bridge that we needed to go to, to get to our car. (the bridge is like 1/4 mile long) and there was no way we could get to the other side of the bridge because of the TONS of people. Literally there were so many people and its a long bridge the people on the other side of hte bridge didn't even know there was a problem. Well people started to finally try to walk off the bridge and we saw there was a fight. Apparently they were fighting and someone flashed a gun. We don't know if there was actually a shot or not because of course the fireworks were going of, and plus they let off fire crackers on the street at the same time everything was going on. I just know that when we were walking passed (very quickly) my throat started to burn REALLY bad, and I started coughing. I guess the police had sprayed a ton of pepper spray or mace or whatever to calm the fight ect.

Sooooo needless to say! That was our interesting experience!

That plane ride looked like SOOO much fun. What a wonderful experince. I laughed at the picture of you guys in the plane, you look pretty scared as does Matt and there is your friend and her father just having a blast. haha it really made my day. Thanks for the photos. Again, glad you are safe!

Not too much is new I guess. I've pretty much been working alone at the day care though. The other teacher that is usually in there with me hasn't been there much because her husband has been in the hospital for about a week. Soooo that is a little stressful because I have to lead them all, but at the same time it is kinda nice because I can do things how I want and she never like sits them down when they act up (I mean come on they are 8! they know what they can't do) and I make them sit down for like 5-10 mins and when they get up they are 100% better for the rest of the day. She has worked there for like 3 years... me only about 2 months, so I can't really take charge like that when she is there.

So its stressful she is gone, but kind of nice too if that makes since

Congrats on the weight loss! Every pound lost is sooo exciting! That plane ride looked like fun, but I can't imagine being on a plane that small. Crazy! Glad that you guys got out of that stampede alive! Man, I would have freaked out. Congrats on having a little time to do things your way! I can identify with your situation because I used to be a Girl Scout leader and when the other leader couldn't come to the meetings I was kind of relieved because I didn't like the way that she did some things. On the other hand, she was a teacher by profession and could make them all listen when I couldn't.

I saw your ticker, does that mean you guys are going to Mexico after all? I hope so!

Although we took a honeymoon to Florida, Matt said he couldn't forgive himself and couldn't get over accidentally losing his passport and "ruining" my wedding and honeymoon (though I've told him I forgive him and nothing was ruined lol) he said he can't get over it until he takes me there to make up for it. Since our travel agent said he would give us a trip there at wholesale and we already have a credit for the plane tickets from our missed trip.

PLUS we start working at the Chicago Bears training camp (it is held at my university), on top of our already full time jobs, and since that is something extra we are doing we are going to put that money towards the trip :)

We will be in Mexico on our anniversary so that will be nice!

We are pretty excited about the trip hehe. It will be nice to spend our first anniversary somewhere. And we have always said that we need to take a trip (other than a honeymoon) before we have children. And once we graduate which is around our one year anniversary, we will try TTC sometime within a year or so, so that is exciting.

We had orientation for Bears Camp last night. The Bears hold their summer training camp at our university and we are going to work as guards there. We will have to check to make sure people aren't in areas of campus that they aren't suppose to be or anything. The players actually live on campus and stuff so we have to keep people away from the dorms and apartments. The players live in the dorms, the coaches live in the apartments.

That will be a crazy time though because I will be working anywhere from 50-70 hours a week for 3 weeks, it just depends how many hours they put me down for, and I will still work my full time job.

Matt and I have started to work out this week. I'm only doing it MWF he's a nut and doing it MTWThF. I think he's crazy haha. But I'm pretty sore :( I did a mile and a half this morning. We have to wake up at 5:30 to work out... blah! haha

Soooo Matt and I made a purchase of a new tv. It probably wasn't the best use of our money, but we are getting a SUPER deal on rent and have been really saving on groceries (only about $25 a week or so, including everything... Aldis hehe (sp?) AND we've been eating really healthy even though I wasn't sure if we could since I didn't know if Aldis(sp? that just doesn't look right) had anything healthy... surprise surprise they do! hehe

So anyways, we bought a tv. We bought a flat panel LCD 26 inch tv. It was originally $448, But we had a few gift cards, and a 10% discount, so we ended up only spending about 300 or so. Like I said we probably could have used our money somewhere else, but we paid for it straight up out of pocket, no credit card involved. Sure we probably should have saved the money, but hey! It's our first major purchase in our marriage, so now that we have that taken care of we won't have any other major purchases for awhile :).... unless God forbid a car has a total break down lol

I thought I already replied to you but I guess it didn't go through last night. He never found his passport, we think he threw it away. So we ended up going to Clearwater, Florida. We are working 20-30 hours extra on top of our full time jobs so we are using that money to take our real honeymoon. So Bears stuff starts today. I don't actually work there until Sat. But Matthew started working today. He works 7-3. So he left earlier than normal. My work gave me a week and a half kind of off, but I still will go into the day care from 3:30-5:30 to cover the shift after the other teacher leaves. So that's kinda what's going on right now.

Concerning the weight topic, I have only lost like 6 lbs, and it is frustrating because I see NO difference. My goal has been 25lbs, so I only have 19 left and I just hope that I can start to see a difference soon or it is going to be hard for me to keep on fighting my cravings lol.

The Bears camp is in full swing. Yesterday my job was to check bags when they come to to make sure they don't have glass bottles, beer or weapons... all of that good stuff. So lots of checking bags. Its not too bad except I have to stand saying Can I please check your bag? haha

We have to head out of town tonight though. One of my best friends, who was a bridesmaid, her grandfather committed suicide on Friday afternoon. So we are going to go be with her for the services tonight and tomorrow.

BUT even though the reason is sad, I am sooo excited to see her! I haven't seen her since the wedding because she does the summer traveling program that does week long mission trips for teens all over the country so shes be gone pretty much since my wedding. We're back from the services now. They were of course sad, its always hard to go to things like that!

Sad things everywhere though, I turned on the news this morning and I guess there was a Bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis, MN during their rush hour. I feel so bad for the familes who haven't gotten in contact with their family members yet and do not know how they are :(

There's not a whole lot new with us, just finishing up the summer and getting ready for our last year of classes to start. I'm excited to finally graduate and have my college degree. I'm also sooo ready to be done with this daycare! only a little over two weeks left :)

So I randomly decided to start a blog. I don't know why, something about my mom wanting me to read someones because it was funny or something. Anyways I of course will still be posting here, but I will also be posting random things about our lives and stuff, that way other people in ours lives who do not come here and catch up on our lives too.

So if you ever get bored and want another perspective on our lives, check us out here... http://jacklynnfry.blogspot.com/

But I will still be hanging around here of course :)

ANYWAYS!

So classes start next week. We both will be entering into our last year of college. I'm ready to get this last year started. Matt's buying our books online today... blah expensive!

Good luck with your last year of classes. I was so ready to be done my last year!!

Jacklynn
08-21-2007, 09:23 PM
Thanks :)

I'm pretty excited, but its all weird though, because I mean for most of my life my identity has always been a student, oh what grade are you in, what year in school are you, what is your major, what are you going to do after you graduate college. Like now I am trying to transition myself into my identity as being a wife and working on a family possibly in a year.

Just a lot of transitions :)

Twigler
08-21-2007, 10:08 PM
I totally know what you mean! It is the same with me. It is so weird to go from "Student" with a boyfriend to "Wife" with a job. lol! But trust me, it is really nice!!

Are you guys wanting to have kids pretty soon after you graduate?

NicksBride
08-22-2007, 08:23 AM
It is really exciting to make that transition for the both of you though. I remember being done and just freaking out. But think of how great it will be to NOT HAVE HOMEWORK and have to worry about tests etc. all you haev to worry about is your job and being a wife and someday a mother. Its all very exciting. :)

Jacklynn
08-22-2007, 10:16 AM
Are you guys wanting to have kids pretty soon after you graduate?

Hehe yes! We graduate in May... I want to start trying late summer :) So a little less than a year!!! I just have to keep talking Matt into it... he says he wants to wait, but EVERY time he sees a couple with a little child he is always like OHHH I wanna little boy! Or I can't WAIT to have a little girl!

Soooo We will see :)

So we had really bad storms last night that knocked out our power, and the power company said we may not have power back for a week! Not good considering our classes start on Thursday, and we have no water because we are on a well and well... the power is out.

Also we went grocery shopping about 3 hours before the storm.... we had to transfer all of our frozen food so we wouldn't lose it! I wrote more about it in the general chat section...

Jacklynn
08-29-2007, 09:57 PM
Power is back on, but still no internet for whatever reason :( It knocked it out somehow.

There is a big tree down in our yard and they still haven't came to clear it up yet haha

Twigler
08-30-2007, 12:16 AM
The same bad storm hit around my neck of the woods too. A local little town around here had damage to almost every house, around 200 homes. A lot of the corn in that area is flat as pancakes too! We just lost power for a while, but we lucked out of the damage in the town where I live.

I am glad to hear that you finally have power!

Goin2thechapel
08-30-2007, 08:05 AM
I couldn't imagine having to live in a place where there are tornadoes and storms like that. I mean we get our share of storms but they usually just come and go quickly leaving little damage.

We need to worry about the Blizzards...Yikes...It's almost that time!!!

NicksBride

Oh! Btw, instead of going to Mexico in May, because we do not really have the money to do that, especially since we will have to start paying off our student loans come next November, and I want to start TTC around next Aug-Nov so instead we are going to use our unused tickets to go to Phoenix and go to another cubs spring training game, and also go roam around to the grand canyon and fun stuff like that :) I'm pretty excited actually just because it will be fun. We will be going in March though.

Jacklynn
10-12-2007, 08:40 AM
Okay well I don't have much time, but I will give a small update.

We are in full swing of our senior year of college now, so things are pretty crazy/busy. Lots of stuff going on in that aspect.

Sadly... the cubs lost and now are out of the playoffs... haha we are still mourning.

My sister is causing my family a lot of heart ache. She is a senior in high school, and decided to graduate early against my parents wishes (my mom graduated early and regrets getting to have her entire year and regrets not getting to actually 'graduate'). She said she is moving out Dec.20. Sometime after Christmas (like Feb.) she plans on moving to Texas with a guy she has only met 2 months ago. My family isn't big fans of living together outside of marriage (not that I think badly of any of you who do, I just don't agree with it) Not to mention he is 23.... she is 17! He is older then Matt AND I, and he wants to move her totally away from our family and while age isn't a big deal in a relationship, 23 and 17 are pretty different ages even though it is 6 years, they are at way different places in their life. Not to mention he won't even come over to meet my parents. Shes breaking my families heart....

ANYWAYS, tonight we are having a fall party!!!!!! We put together a little fire pit, and we bought hot dogs and buns and marshmellows. I also bought apple cider. Then other people are bringing things like chips. So far we have about 20 people. I hope others bring more hotdogs though because we only bought like 32 hot dogs, we weren't expecting so many people!

But, I gotta jet to work for now :/

Sorry about your sister. Hopefully something happens between now and February that convinces her to change her mind. Your party sounds fun.

10-12-2007, 09:42 AM
Sorry about your sister, but I haev to admit when I was her age I had this itch to move to Colorado with this guy I met in High SChool and was packed and ready to go.. I came to my senses and didn't move, I hope your sister does the same. Just let her know she is loved and that you really feel as though you want to protect her.

Have fun tonight, sounds like a blast! I love Autumn...
So glad yo have you back, we want new pictures too.. hahaha

Good to have you back. Your party sounds like a blast. Enjoy!!

Teenagers are such a pain sometimes!! (don't mean to offend if we have any teens here...but I raised 4 of the monsters...and they can be a lot of heartache) Hopefully something will come along to change her mind.

Jacklynn
10-15-2007, 05:07 PM
haha well we carved the pumpkins with a kit, like it had designs on paper, and you went off of that.

BUT I'm still pleased with how they turned out. Now I'm ready for all the holidays to start happening though!

Okay so here's the deal. My parents were going to go on vacation with us in March... and now they don't wanna go to vegas. Which is fine, I don't care where we go, I just wanna go somewhere!

Matt and I plan on this being the big trip before we have kids (we have our plan of taking one last trip before we have kids). We may be going to even Disney World now (hehe disney is fun!) lol. Or we may fly to Cancun and do that whole thing. I don't know. We figured it up and our frontier credits don't really do much for us because we have to pay $200 to change the tickets and then the difference if they are over $600 for both. So it doesn't matter if we need to use a different airlines (because of their limited flight route)

Soooo who knows what we are going to do lol. I don't care where...

BUT we may also wait and go until May 7th-14 (over our anniversary) so that we miss the spring break crud, it is cheaper then.

Also..... hehe..... Matt said we may start TTC on our trip, so I would rather we go in May so we are already graduated (not that it would be the awful if I got preg. in March (although I'm sure we wouldn't get preg. right away lol)

okay so this is a long drawn out post------ see ya :)

NicksBride
10-17-2007, 09:16 AM
hahah you guys are so funny. I love how you plan everything. Just see what happens. A big trip before you TTC is a great idea.. I am sure you guys will have a great time and added bonus TTC on your vacation.. You may have a vacation baby. haha. Either way, have fun planning for both ;)

ikkin510

That week is a great time to go to Disney. It isn't too busy at that time, witht he exception of one or two school trips. I have gone that week and my DH went twice that week.
Oh, and it's a good week for TTC too... We went on vacation that week for my birthday and that is the same time we got pregnant...LOL

hehe we like to at least know a little bit about whats going to happen. I guess I am more like that than Matt though. I really enjoy things like event planning and making lists like of stuff to do (like on vacation... not like a cleaning list hehe)

I'm guessing though that while we may start trying in May, we probably wouldn't get a vacation baby, just because what are the chances of getting preg right after stopping the pill? I've taken it now for like 3 years, I dk if that makes a difference, but either way.... still an exciting time in life :)

I mean like I enjoy planning, but if things change I'm not someone who goes nuts about it, I just see it as a fun challenge hehe

OH! Matt and I have a date tonight :) We have a $25 gift card to

blah so I am home sick today :(

I felt like I was going to throw-up this morning, didn't though, and then went to my morning class. I had a pretty big headache though so I had matt bring me home after class, I feel decent now, just a little hungry which sounds really strange haha. I had some chicken noodle soup. Now I'm just kinda light headed but other than that I am just resting and maybe trying to get the house picked up a little.

NicksBride

hehe not pregnant :P The weather is icky latly.. its freezing out, and just a few days ago it was 80 out. Also a girl I work with is getting tested for MRSA (that superbug staff infection thing) and there is actually another girl from my university who is in the hospital for it) so I figure if I start to feel sick I should get my body a break lol

So we went to our halloween party last night :) It was a lot of fun... I'll post pictures when I upload them.

I'm going to a bridal shower this evening.

We are going to Orland Park which is about 35 mins north of us. Going to Ethel's Chocolate Lounge (which is $20 a person... :/ ) and then to dinner at panera bread. This is her "best friends/personal" shower. Her and her fiance are pretty good friends of ours. He was a groomsmen in our wedding and Matt is a groomsman in his.

Sooooo while I'm doing that though, Matt is babysitting for one of our friends. He is 8, he was adopted and he is pretty cute :) Its funny because he is african american, and when he was younger... like around 4, his family adopted another african american child, she is darker than then is though and when they brought her home he demanded them to TAKE HER BACK he didn't like her. When they asked him why he didn't like her, he said.... Because shes black!! ... lol they were like umm Caleb, you are black... and he said, no I'm not I'm brown

haha needless to say, he is a very hyper kid, and Matt has to give him two different types of precription meds. this afternoon to calm him.

We both are in for fun evenings lol

Jacklynn
10-31-2007, 07:39 PM
Thanks haha

haha bare with me for this next part... I'm having an emotional month! I'm dealing with a lot emotionally so if I sound nuts... its probably because I am!! haha

Last month my period was 4 days late, which is very strange for being on the pill, and then I didn't have a regular period, it lasted for like 3 days, but it was darker and not even 1/4 of the amount as normal, not even enough to wear a tampon.

I say this because I thought maybe I was pregnant, but since I did bleed some, I figured I was for sure not. Well for the last week and a half, before work like after I have been up for about 45 mins or so I suddenly feel dizzy and I dry heaved a few times. I was so sure I was pregnant. Well I am suppose to start my period again next week, and I know I'm not pregnant because even thought my chest is kinda tender, I just well don't feel pregnant. And the awful thing is, I have seen cute little babies EVERYWHERE and I just held a 12 day old baby on Sunday and I couldn't help but be like holy cow I want one.

Matt and I want kids early (even though im only 20 and his only 22) I am grad. from College soon, but really all I want to do is be a mom, I really feel like that is why I am here is to have a few kids and raise them up and maybe watch some kids in my home for some money, and sell Mary Kay :)

Well we want to wait until May (graduation) to start trying. I am just having such a hard time waiting!! Like we will not start before that, but if it were to happen (haha if we were in the 1% failure rate of the pill) I would be okay with it, like at this point I would be no more than 7 months pregnant if I got preg. last month haha so actually more like no more than 6 months. It wouldn't be ideal because we will be graduating and going into new jobs by June, lol but I just can't help wishing I could have a baby.

I'm not saying I am even going to think about trying, I'm just saying I am having such a hard time waiting!! All I want to do with my life is be a wife and a mommy lol I'm so dumb :)

Any suggestions on how I can stop being so baby crazy and stop thinking of it?? haha I know I have my whole life to have a baby, I'm just so stick of being in college and like I said I just wanna be a mommy lol

10-31-2007, 07:46 PM

And thanks, I love it too ;)

I know! It seems like I am never here anymore! I miss you too!! There are so many people and so many new posts that it is hard to get up-to-date! I am over at BabyRaising a lot, which is now being moved as a sub category here I guess, so I will be here a lot more!!
