okay im an incompedent boob when it comes to hair so bare with me lol.
If you want a perm that tight small curls how long does your hair have to be? i want them mid neck length. how long would my hair have to be? and if my hair is multi coloured can i get it all one coloured without it looking bad? i want to go blonde with brown lowlights and right now i have 3 inches of brown roots and a redish the rest of the way down. someone told me if i used boz die then i should just wait for my hair to grow in because you will just make your hair look bad. is this true?

I don't know about the dyeing part. But I would assume if you go to the salon they can help you out with that.

As for the perm everyone is different. It actually depends on how thick and how long your hair is. Just go to the salon again and they can advice you on what your looking for.

I would for warn you about the perm thing. Reason being is that over a year ago I got a total perm. I got big thick curls and it was very beautiful but a perm will only last so long and you will have roots. Then it's another perm..My point being is that perms damage your hair something fierce. When you add coloring to that you can be asking for a possible problem. You have to wait weeks in between perming and coloring due to the chemicals. I believe its a month but it could be longer.

Also, because your hair is thin and straight your hair may have trouble holding a perm ecspecially if you never had one. Therefore, you increase you chances of not have a nice looking perm when it's all said and done.

IMHO: If I were you, don't do anything drastic or experiment with your hair being that your wedding is 9 months away.

I don't think there is a certain length you hair has to be in order to get a perm. The smaller the perm rod, the tighter the curl.

You shouldn't do the color and perm at the same time. All the chemicals are extremely damaging to your hair. I would give a couple weeks in between. You'd have to ask your stylist which to do first in order to do less damage.

I had a perm about three years ago and it was never the same afterwards. It smelled, I looked like a nana and it just really was awful. I would suggest getting a Body wave, which is not a perm but they actually use curlers with a chemical to hold a soft wave in your hair to add body. As far as coloring goes, I would NOT color and then perm your hair, it will be fried and it will be frizzy. my suggestion is to color, see what it looks like, then after a month or two, if you still want a body wave do that. Its amazing what a good color can do for your hair!!! Good luck!

If you go to a good stylist and use the right products (usually more expensive) a good perm or body wave won't ruin your hair...if you have healthy hair to begin with...if you don't I wouldn't suggest it. I get body wave about every 6 months and I have very healthy hair...I don't color my hair though and would definetly not suggest doing them together.

you might not want to get tight small curls especially if you have never had them. first time permers should go for a larger rod unless you want to look like an old lady lol. small rods are no good :)

thank you :D i really like the way my hair looks in curls not the tiny ones but the ones that are larger that almost look like it can go into a wave. i havent had them done so they stay like that though. maybe get a perm in the summer to see what it looks like and if i dont like it i have enough time to wait inbetween to get it straitened

Or if you have hair like me, you can get 3 perms in 1 week and have the people at the salon say "your hair is too healthy and silky, if you want a perm damage your hair first". Oh yeah, and it never even had a wave to it. They said, buy a curling iron...(they don't work which is why I wanted a perm) I have since given up as it won't hold color either.Booooo!!!!:bbcry:
