View Full Version : Child's favors
I was just wondering if any of you are having a goodie bag or different favor for the kids. I'm thinking about doing something, but I'm just not sure what.

I've never thought of that! We're just doing M&Ms so I think that will be fine.
Yeah, I don't think that hot tea bags & plantable flower paper are quite as kid friendly as M&Ms!

Yep, this was a good topic though because I never even thought of it.
Yay! I posted a good topic! :bbmrgreen: This place is so dead on the weekends. Everybody seems to post a bunch during the week so hopefully some more good ideas will be posted tomorrow!

Yeah, I wasn't on the Internet at all yesterday for once. We had a garage sale at my mom's house and got rid of a lot of stuff...we want newer stuff from the registry. So I was at that until 1:30 and then had to go to work at 2-11. Anyway, sry that was off topic kinda haha. I'm usually on every day though.

I was thinking about doing a coloring book too. And maybe some bubbles and games. I went to a wedding last summer where they had a kids table with board games and stuff- kids were totally preoccupied!

Our wedding & reception is going to be at a historic mansion so now that I think about it, I probably won't be able to do any coloring books. :bbconfused: I'm sure that games would be fine though. I could even go to the dollar store or something and get some inexpensive ones for the kids to take home. Our reception is going to be pretty short...only about 2 hours but kids get bored so easily! Maybe I can include a coloring book in the goodie bags for them to take home though. So many little decisions!

A coloring book would be neat. Maybe if you found a wedding one.

For our wedding, everyone over 12 is getting a shot glass filled with blue and silver M&Ms. I was thinking for younger children we'll get some plain, silver Hershey's Kisses and wrap them in netting. I would like to do the coloring books, but my mom thinks they're a waste of money. And I know there will be at least 4-5 children there under 3 and I don't know how they'll do with crayons. I know my son is fine with them but after a certain point he starts throwing them or coloring on the table and he's two. So we might just do the candy to make things simple and I know every kid loves candy.

Well for my FG's I'm getting them a flower girl Kelly doll each, some little kid lip stick like lipgloss, and each of them will get a t-shirt saying "flower girl" on it. I'm having them wear a tiara and gloves and they'll get that as a present too, as they have no idea about either of them.
For our RB it' Kevin's nephew who hates anything that isn't Yu-Gi-Oh so we'll have to be creative for that lol. I'll leave that oen with Kevin.
We're having a kids table at the wedding and I'll have some stuff for them to play with, colour and stuff on there.

I dont think children care that much about favours. as long as they are having fun and having alot cake they are good. We are having a craft area and toys and stuff, but we arent having that many young children just those in the wedding party. So i think just doing something sweet like making sure they are comfortable and able to relax instead of sitting in one spot the whole time is great.:D

We had a kids table set up. It had those foam stickers with foam door knob hangers for them to decorate. My daughter decided to decorate herself. We have a couple of cute pictures of her. We also put out little stacks of crayons ( tied in ribbon ) and some contruction paper. There were not many kids. But they spent the time they were not on the dance floor at that table. There were also bubbles and skittles in little hats as favors that I also put on their table.

From a moms view - when my children were at my sisters wedding (ages 4+2 at the time) they had a blast with a couple disposable cameras that my mother brought with her - Even if you get a couple cheap ones, they will think its the best thing that they can go around taking pictures like the adults. Also Target or Walmart sells the little hand held Etch-A-Scetch. That will entertain them for a while, they are only a couple $$ and they can draw and erase many pictures. Hope this helps!!!

I don't remember who it was but I believe someone on here had puzzles made for the kids to put together. Something wedding related or their picture or something similar to that. That would be a good idea to me.
