I love your programs! I got my programs from that same site! They are great! You'll really like them when they come in. The cake top is great too. Everything is coming together! Don't worry about your shower, it'll turn out fine.

Woohoo! I'm excited. I just got off the phone with Fh's cousin, Tracy. She is coming over tonight and we are going to see how my hair style looks on me and figure out the veil and tiara. YAY!!! LOL, sorry. I love the hair do I picked so I'm really excited. Pretty bad, that so far that is the most exciting part of the whole planning, my hair!! LOL Well of course the knowing I will be married to Steve in the end out ranks that, but this is my favorite "detail". :bbmrgreen:

I took the day off of work today so Steve and I could get some stuff done. All of the invites are ready to go. Stamped, sealed and will be in the mail on Tuesday. We just have to get the right postage for the one going to my cousin's in Wales. We went to the city and picked up the engagement pictures. I'm a little disappointed. They didn't turn out as well as I hoped and 2 of the 3 shots we picked, the film was damaged and they couldn't use them. So we got different shots that we didn't like as much. Lucky we still got our favorite. Some time this weekend I'll post one or two on here. We also stopped at the Dollar store and got the last of the leaf stands we needed for the arbor and the head table.
Then on the the car dealer where Steve picked out a new truck. We are picking it up tomorrow before heading down to my parents for the shower. Steve begged to come cause after he was at his sister's shower last week, he decided this is the coolest thing ever and want to go to mine since no one will throw him one. Silly boy. I'll update the day tomorrow night.

My shower was amazing! My MOH was all upset cause she couldn't fly in to go to the shower. So she asked me to call her as soon as I got there to let her know what everything looked like and then let her listen as I opened my gifts. That way she felt like she was there. So after I walked in and said hi to everyone, I asked my sister to get her on the phone. My sis talks to her for a minute then hands me the phone. I start explaining how things are set up and then my mom trys to tell me something. I don't remeber what now. Anyway, My MOH says, I like the chocolate favors the best. I was confused cause I didn't remember telling her about the favors. All of the suddon I look up and there is my MOH standing in the back of the room!!! Well my cell phone when flying (apparently I never hung it up, just throw it behind me) and I went running. I haven't seen her in in 4 years. Let me just say that is the best gift ever. Her, my mom, FMIL, FH, and my sister have been planning this for 2 months. So I was on cloud 9 the rest of the shower. Got a lot of nice gifts, so this week at work, I'll be using my down time to write thank you notes.
I spent the rest of the weekend with my MOH and hanging out with some old friends from HS. I had a great weekend. Now I understand all the odd things that FH has been saying over the past few days. I will post pictures as soon as I get them. I didn't take many myself since I was distracted...lol. But my mom and MOH did so as soon as they send them I will post them.

Thank you so much guys! Those are the best pictures I've had taken in who knows how long. I was never a big camara person since I struggled with acne for so long. Now that it's cleared up I'm starting to get in pictures again. Thank you so much for your comments. They mean a lot

Yes, having my MOH at the shower was the best gift ever! She e-mailed me some pictures this afternoon so hopefully tomorrow or thursday I can get them loaded up here.

Oh, and a little bit of good news. FSIL and I have been getting along really well the past few days. Things are looking up!

Ok, so last night Steve saw the DJ and talked to him. He appoligized for not getting back to us....he's so busy....blah, blah, blah, he'll get the stuff in the mail this week. Yeah, whatever. August 19th is FSIL's wedding. They have the same DJ (they haven't tried to talk to him in months so I don't know if they are having the same problem.) So, if I do not have the papers by then, I will be firing him on the spot and demanding a full refund. I have to read up on the contract a little more just to verify I can get the money back. But this is rediculas. I wanted to go talk to him last night, but he left before I got a chance to. ARG! Don't worry, I'll be nice enough to wait until he is packing up from FSIL's wedding to make the big scene. Shesh. That's the last time I let Steve make a decision! HE is no longer allowed to make big decisions because he hired IDIOTS!

Well, today is my shower with Steve's family. I don't expect a large turn out sincethey only sent the invites out 1 week before! Yes well. It should be fun anyway. I love hanging out with Steve's family. They are all very close and the cousins are more like brothers and sister to eachother. Not like my family, but I'm liking it.
My parents and sister and the exchange student they have from france are coming up for the shower. My sister if bringing her lap top and we are going to burn all the music onto a cd for the ceremony.
I sent out the first shower thank you with the exception of like 5. (I need to buy more stamps!)
Sorry I haven't gotten pictures up from that shower. This past week was carnival week. Seeing that I live right at the carnival ground and Steve runs one of the food tents, I have been busy working there and keeping crazy drunks from walking through my yard and crushing my flowers! Hopefully I will get pictures up soon.

Stupid me forgot to take my camara to the shower yesterday. One of my BM brought hers so I will try to get some pictures off of her to share. THe shower was fun. One thing I don't understand is why people ask were we are registered at if they aren't going to go there or even buy anything on the registry?? I had over $100 in returns from the two showers just for walmart. Since I didn't get a lot of stuff we registered for at other stores, we are goint to try to look for things at walmart. Then there are the people that go to the store that you registered at but done buy anything on the registry. O well. I am happy with a lot of the stuff we got. The major things I didn't get was glasses, silverware and dishes. Oh, and pots and pans.

I think today we are going to spend some time working on wedding stuff. Looking over songs for the reception online, figuring out BP gifts, stuff like that. My mom sent some picture of possible bouts. We have to decide what we like then I'll post pictures.

Kacie_bride
08-07-2006, 10:03 AM
Wait until after the wedding before you go out and buy some of the stuff that you didn't get at the shower. Maybe you will get some of the stuff at the wedding. Hopefully you'll also be getting some cash and maybe a gift card or two from some of the places you registered. I can't wait to see your pics! I'm glad you had a nice time.

Today we are at our 2 month mark. We got some wedding stuff accomplished. I tried to work on the reception music with Steve. Got nowhere fast with that. He wants to hear the songs and I'm not sure where to go to listen to them online without having to pay for them.
But, we did make a couple dinner reservations for while on our honeymoon. We want to go out to one more nice place (on Steve's birthday) while we are there, but he hasn't decided where he wants to go yet.
My sister burnt the wedding music on to a CD yesterday while she was here. Another check off the list.
Steve decided what to get for his parents. They are tight on money right now so he is going to pay to have their oil tank filled for the winter. He figures that is better then any other gift we could give them. I think I'll also get them a nice picture frame or something simple too. I'm going to head over to Hallmark tomorrow to look for stuff for my girls. They have some really nice picture frames and stuff there.
We went and returned the duplicates and stuff that people bought not on our registries that we didn't want today. And then bought some small stuff that we wanted to get before the wedding from the list. While walking around Walmart Steve found these cute scarecrows that he wants to use for centerpieces at the reception. So what we might do is buy a few and have some tables with that and some with the flowers. Mix it up a bit. So one day we will have to return the extra flower stuff.

The lady we will have to see about getting our marriage license was at my shower yesterday so I was talking to her. It cost $42.50 and all we need to bring is our drivers licenses. No blood tests or anything like that needed. We pick it up 3 days later and then its good for 60 days. So we may do that at the end of the month. WOW, I'm kinda going into the shocked mode that we have less then 2 months to go now. I'm so afraid that we are going to forget something important. I'm going to go over all my lists tonight and make sure I have the big stuff done.

I don' tknow what made me go out and check the mail again, but I just did. I already got the mail earlier today. Anyway, I go out and a paper falls out of the box. They tried to deliever our cake topper today while we were out!! I wasn't expecting if for another 2 weeks yet!! So I will be sitting at home waiting for that tomorrow. YAY!!
I also just went to make a payment on our vacation. For some reason the price we still owed went up $16 and I couldnt' figure out why. SO I called Disney. The taxes went up for the county so anyone whose vacation wasn't paid off yet got the tax raise for what was still owed. Ok, the least they could have done was notified us! It's only $16 but still!

Here are my favorites for my hair and make up.
This is my favorite hair style. The only thing is I wouldn't want to wear a tiara with it, and I already bought one. I could do some flowers though....

This one I like too, but not as much
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a388/ikkin510/hair2.jpg
And here is the make up. It's really simple, which I like. My only problem is I'm clueless when it comes to this stuff. All I ever wear is cover up and mascara. So I may see FH's cousin can help with that too.

Since I have been so stressed about the wedding, Steve took me for some retail theropy. I got a nice dress jacket, 2 nice shirts and a pairt of dressy sandels. Steve got a few shirts, a pair of shorts, and new sneakers. But, the exciting part....We finally got our rings!!! They had my size there, so I have mine. Steve's needs to be ordered. I will post "live" pictures once I figure out which box my camara is packed in. (I know, I'm really slow unpacking!) So you will have to look at the website pics.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a388/ikkin510/myring.jpg This is mine, only it's in yellow gold.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a388/ikkin510/stevesring.jpgThis is Steve's.
The funny thing is, we both looked at the guys and the girls rings and picked our favorite one of both. We ended up picking the exact same rings and didn't know it till we tried them on! They are ordering Steve's and it should be in by the end on July. They said about 49 days.

I love your ring. It seems like everyone has fancy wedding bands. Mine will just be plain yellow gold. Its a set with my E-ring. I wish it had diamonds in it too but it doesn't.

Ok, I am on a roll so far this month. If I can keep things up at this speed I will have nothing to do next month (which would be fine by me!)
Steve and I tried to figure out about how many centerpieces we will need. We invited 163 people. They say about 20% won't come so that leaves us at about 130 people. The tables at the hall are round and seat 8. We we are going to plan on 16 tables and the head table. That a bit more then we need, but at least we are prepared in case more people then planned come. We decided to do half of the tables with the flower arrangements I posted earlier and half with these cute scarecrows sitting on hay bails that Steve found. The head table will just be two of the flower pots. So, I made 10 pots today and they are all packed up, ready to go. Steve wants to go tonight and buy the scarecrows if we have time. Centerpieces will offically be done then. I figure if we end up with extra centerpieces we will just stick them around the room, like on the gift table, cake table, Dj's area, etc. Next week we are going to return the unused flowers and pots and get the ribbon for the favors.

Another thing on my list done. We returned the extra ots and flowers for the centerpieces yesterday and Steve found sparklely orange and burgundy ribbons for the favors. This weekend I'm going to design a tag to put on them. We had to get store credit for the pots since I through out the reciept the week before we decided to only do half flowers (go figure!) So I think I will look for some nice picture frames for our parents and my MOH with some of the left over money.

In one week my FSIL is getting married. I figure I need to pay close attention to see if there is anything I'm missing while at her wedding...lol.

Ya know, the last couple days I have started getting really excited for the wedding. I'm so ready to finally marry Steve. And it's not just that either. I didn't want the big wedding, I wanted a small beach thing. But now that all the peices are falling into place, getting decorations together and I can actually start to visualize what everythign will look like, I am really starting to get antsy and excited and starting to love what Steve has had me put together. I'm actually starting to feel like a bride planning the wedding of her dreams! It just took me a while to get her...lol.

On the down side, Steve was at the firehouse going throgh some paper work. He was talking with one fo the guys about prices for the dinners. THe number they were talking about was a little higher then we had planned. And seeing we ended up with a larger guest list then planned, I'm a little worried about where we are going to find the extra money. Steve did say the guy said that the price may go down since it is us (it helps to do a lot at the firehouse I guess!) Hopefully it does. I only need it to go down $2-$3 a person. That is almost $300 we will be saving if it drops. Every penny matters!

I'm glad that you are getting excited about your wedding! I have been excited all along, but I know when I get as close as you I will be very excited. Tonight is not a good night. I figured I could get stuff done while Steve was working. First I went to turn on one of the two end table lights we just bought this past week, and it doesn't turn on. The little knob just keeps turning. And of course we bought them on clearance and all sales are final when they are on clearance.
Next, I sit down to start working on tying ribbon on the favors. The stupid rolls only have enough ribbon for 4 favors! I tried multiple different ways and the best I can do is get 5 from a roll. At $2 a roll, I can not afford to go out and spend over $50 in ribbon! We are already over budget and not knowing where to get the extra money we need from.
Then, I decided to try on my dress, to see if my weight loss helped at all. I don't know how this works, but it is even further from being able to zip up now!!! I don't know how to loss 2 inches in my waist in less then 2 months. The only good thing that came from trying on the dress is that I found out with the new shoes I bought, the dress won't need to hemmed.
I'm not having a happy night.
Oh, and my mom just e-mailed me the update on the money in the wedding account. I missed a deduction. We have less money then we thought.
Sigh

I talked with Steve's cousin last night and Tuesday we are goign over to her new house and Steve is going to get his hair cut for his sister's wedding this weekend. AND, she said to bring the picture of how I want my hair for our wedding, and she'll do the trial do!! I'm excited about that! We didn't get to go last time since her son was sick.
Today I have to walk to Hallmark to get FMIL a card and birthday present. I am thinking that I might look into picking up the 2 picture frames for my MOH and sister.

I don't remember if I told you this or not. I know I told you that I had my second shower on Sunday. FSIL did not come. I figured she had to work. I found out the other day, that wasn't the case. She just decide she didn't want to go and stayed home. She was invited to my other shower a few weeks earlier and didn't go to that, but I figured she wouldn't since it was so far away. But that kinda upset me that she just didn't want to go to the second one. Steve is mad because we spent a lot of money on her shower gift and she didn't even give us a card. I'm really disappointed, but I'm trying to just brush it off. Althought, Steve's one co-worker did invite us to a pig roast at his house this satruday (FSIL's wedding day). Steve told him that we couldn't go because of the wedding and the guy said fine, but I should skip the wedding and go. Very tempting....but I couldn't do that....

I hope your trial run goes great! Be sure to take pictures so we can see. I hope you are having a better day than last night.

About your dress. I have seen these body enhancer things at a bridal fair. They are like girdles, but do not have all the hooks and whatever else. They look like they would be very tight and uncomfortable, but it would be better than not getting into your dress. It is a thought if you still cannot get into your dress.

I would suggest taking some drastic measures. I would try to only drink water for the next 2 months. That would be so hard for me, but cutting out all the soft drinks and sugary drinks may help a lot. That is one thing that I would defiantely do. With food I don't really know what to do to cut things down drastically without being unhealthy. Maybe try to just eat a salad at lunch. I do know that 5 or 6 small meals during the day is better than 3 large ones. I also know that is really hard to accomplish. Good luck!

My mom sent me a meal guide. She was in the Jenny Craig program a little over a year ago and did awesome. She was selected to be in one of their commercials, but wasn't able to New York when they wanted to to. Anyway, They have a program for people who can't afford to buy their meals, so my mom sent me that. It looks like this:
Breakfast-one peice of wheat toast with peanut butter and a small glass of Orange Juice.
Snack-a low fat yogert
Lunch-a salada, bowl or soup, or a turkey and cheese sandwich with lettus and tomato.
Snack-a piece of fruit
Dinner-a frozen meal, like smart ones, or lean cuisin.
Drink 8-8oz glasses of water a day
30-45 minutes of walking or cardio a day.
So I'm going to try this out. Your suppose to loss about a pound a week. Sometimes more depending on how active you are. So we will see what happens. I am also going to look into one of those body shapers. That way I have one, just in case I can't loose what I need to.

Hey Nikki, I'm sorry your dress isn't co-operating with you. So bizzar! The diet doesen't sound too bad though!

What a pain that the ribbon is so short. I wanted to do a fun gaussy ribbon for the programs and favours but had the same problem. I found curling ribbon that matched the colours of the wedding perfectly at the Dollar store so i loaded up on that and took back the other ribbon.
Have fun at the wedding this weekend! She sounds like a bit of a troll really. I can see Steve's fustrations cause i think i would feel the same. I would love to see the look on her face if you told her you weren't going to attend the wedding because a BBQ came up. That would be priceless! lol.

LoL, so would I! Last night my doorbell rang, I went down and Fsil's FFIL was at the door. He was upset because we never RSVPed with what we wanted to eat at the rehearsal dinner on Friday. Well, first off, we never got one of the fancy invites they handed it. FSIL told us about it and we told her, when she told us the choices, what we wanted. We then told her 2 more time later last week since she forgot. So I told her FFIL that we told her multiple times we wanted the Steak dinner, and I'm sorry he didn't find out. She told us she was going to tell him. He then had the nerve to look at me and say,"You have to remember that she is under a lot of stress right now. She is having the wedding of a lifetime this weekend. Not some tiny after thought like you." He then turned and left. I was shocked!! I just closed the door and thought, well at least I know FSIL is marrying into the right family!

I'm sorry, Nikki, but your FFIL is a jerk. :bbmad: I can't believe he would say that to you. It is so incredibly rude!! Unbelievable!! Does Stephen know what he said to you?

Yes, it was my FSIL's FFIL. I has really surprised I held my tongue. I am really trying, for Steve, not to cause any trouble. They can be rude to me and I will try to handle it. But, let me tell you, if I get any more comments, I will go off on them. I don't care if I'd on FSIL's wedding day. I'm tired of trying to be nice. No one else seems to try!

Anyway. My trial hair do has been postponed, again. I am ok with it this time. Steve has a good friend from high school that is in the army and is in town. So we are going out tonight with him. We also found out he will be able to come to the wedding too! Steve would like to include him somehow, we just have to figure out how. I'll get my hair done tomorrow.

Somthing should be said about how everyone is treating you. That is NOT called for.

That's great to hear Stephen's friend will be able to come to the wedding. I hope you guys have a fantastic visit!

UHG. I didn't have a good day yesterday. It started by dispatching a call for a really bad accident at noon. Well, it's was in Steve's area, so he went with the fire company. They had the road shut down for 5 hours because of it. Well, Steve was suppose to be at the house by 2 (when I get home from work) so we could head out of town to get the rest of the ribbon we need for the favors. I understood though, why he wasn't. When he does get here (after 5) he told me he would have been there sooner if he hadn't been sitting in the back of the ambulace for a while. Then he starts laughing. Apparently, he started acting weird on the scene, so his brother (works on the ambulance) pulled him aside and checked him out. His pulse was really high and blood pressure really low. So they were worried about him. That's ok, no one has to tell me any of this! I had actually seen on the news somone being walked into the ambulance, that looked like Steve, but thought, no, Steve or his brother would call me. GRRR, men.

Part 2 of the day
SO after I yell at him and make sure he's ok (he's fine, he just hadn't eaten anything all day and it was really hot out) we decided to go to his cousins to get his hair cut and my trail hair done. Well, she did his hair then worked on mine. She could not figure out how to do it. Once she finally did, she never curled it, just showed it to me and said "It will look like this only with curls." Well I couldn't tell what it looked like! I told her that and she said "it will look like the picture, don't worry." Well I'm trying to be nice with his family so I let it go. Steve knew I was upset though. So we got out to the truck (by now to late to run to the craft store) and I tell him how mad I am. He thinks I should just go and get my hair done somewhere else. Not sure how to pay for it, but wants me to do it. So, now I have to find that money to get my trial and actually wedding day hair done.
Then I open the RSVP card that his cousin handed me before we left. They are bringing their 4 year old. This kids is a terror and one of the main reasons we decided not to have kids there. Steve refuses to call and tell them he can't come because he thinks that's rude. I should just put up with it. Well, welcome my breaking point. I informed him that he WILL be calling her and the kid WILL NOT be coming. I am not going to to let anyone else change anything in my wedding unless I say so. I have done everything for everyone else up until now. Not anymore. I don't care if I'm am seen as a bridezilla. I'm tired off it.
Grrr, eloping sounds better and better every minute!

Good for you for standing up for yourself. Tell Steve he has until Sunday afternoon to call and get things straigh with his cousin or YOU will call and get things set straight with his cousin. It isn't rude to call them. It is rude not to reda the **** names on the invitation and then just invite someone else along anyway!

Don't worry about your hair. I didn't even do a trail up do. I just went to the guy who has done my hair for years. He showed me 3 or 4 pictures. I told him which one I liked. On my wedding day, he stiull did what he wanted and it looked fine. Just make sure you trust the person.

Steve finally agreed to talk to his cousin about her son. I gave him 1 week to do it.
Your right, Lacey, I guess I really don't need the trial. I"m going to look into different places to get my hair done this week.
Tonight we have FSIL's rehearsal dinner. She ended up asking Steve to be an usher. So I'm tomorrow is her big day. I'm happy she is getting married, maybe for the wrong reasons though....like the fact that now she will be living 2 hours away...lol. I hope everyone just makes it a happy day and I don't have to kill anyone.
Oh, and we still haven't heard anything from the DJ. Kill day is approching. I need to find a new DJ/band/ or something to replace this guy. Steve isn't going to be happy...lol

FSIL's wedding was really nice. I had never been to a catholic ceremony before. It was different then what I was use to. Her ceremony started at 2pm. She stopped by my house around 1030 (to surprise us!) It was really nice of her. She figures she would be so busy with people all day and then leaving for her honeymoon, that she wanted to stop in and spend a few minutes with us before hand. It was really nice (there is hope yet!)
Her reception was beautiful! Very high end. They had a beautiful ice sculpture (that Steve decided looked like snoopy from behind) and one of the fanciest dinners I have ever had. Of course, FSIL looked awesome. I have one or two pictures that I will share tomorrow.
The DJ was AWESOME! I had never been to an event that he has done. I know what Steve wanted him now. We talked to him after the reception as he was packing up. He has been updating the song list and had it there for us! (Boy was he lucky). He also offered to sit down with us and help us pick out songs for the main dances. Which is definatly a big help.
A lot of Steve's family members came up to us and told us how much they are looking forward to our wedding. When I first walking into FSIL's reception, I had to walk off cause I started to cry. It was so nice and fancy that I was suddonly afraid that everyone would hate what we were having. So when everyone thoughout the night told me that they believe they will have more fun at ours, seeing it will be more casual and laid back, I definatly felt much better.

I'm starting to get nervous. I can't believe how fast the day is coming! We had so many people this past weekend remind us that we are next. (Like we didn't know that!!LOL) Now that FSIL's wedding is done, it's really hit me how close we are to ours. 1 1/2 months to go.
We coach middle school volleyball and I realized the other day that once that started that leaves barely any time for us to get wedding stuff done. So I feel like I'm crunching now to get as much done before Sept. as I possibly can. Here is what I got done in the last week:
-I've got about 1/4 of the favors finished.
-Bought the rest of the ribbon needed.
-Started on the reception music.
-Got the last of the decorations.
-Decided to not have FH's cousin do my hair, and go to a salon instead (calling there today.)
-Bought a body shaper (girtle.)

-Wednesday we are going to get the marriage license.
-Today FMIL and a good friend are coming over to help me try on my dress to see if the girtle I bought works. I'll also see if they think that I should get the hemmed at all, and this week I'll call the lady who volenteered to do alterations for me and set that up.

The favors are finished! We had to wait for the cable guy to come hook up the internet (I love this fast stuff!!!) So, Steve sat down with me and we finished the favors. We noticed that the company we ordered them from gave us 4 extra sets of 4 coaster for free. Which is awesome! Now there is a full set for me, FILs, my parents, and MOH.
Oh, and I did talk to my FMIL. Her and her friend are going to stop by after their walk tonight while FH is at the firehouse and help me try on my dress.

Ok, the rehearsal will be at 630. Dinner will be afterwards at my house. We are going to get a deli plater and have pasta salad, potato salad, chips and pretzels. Then a dessert. We will pick up the meat and cheeses when we run to Sam's club to get the cheese and crackers tray that will be the appitizers for the reception. Then the soda, salads, rolls, and desserts will be handled by FILs, My parents, and my aunt (who has been begging to help!) My aunt also said that she will stay at my house and get everything set up while we are at the rehearsal.

We tried to call the bakery today to see about making the cake a little bigger. The phone just ran and ran. We called a couple times. No answer. I wondered if maybe they aren't closed on Mondays. I know we went on a Tuesday to pick it out, so tomorrow we are going to try calling. If we can't get anyone then, we will head out the the store itself. I'll also get a phone number that works...lol. Steve is worried since no answering machine picked up. I'll worry if we stop by tomorrow and no one is there.

Shawna, I had to laugh when I read your comment. A lot of people were saying she could use a cheeseburger or two. She is one of the skinniest people I know. It's kinda gross.
Her flowers were from her SIL's garden center. I don't like the place that much. They picked them and made them themselves the day before. By the end of the night they all looked so pathetic and were dying. I think the bouts that the guys wore were dead before the end of the ceremony!

WEll I tried on the dress. The bottom does not need to be altered!! And it zipped up fine. There are snaps that hold a peice of fabric behind the lace up and they have to be moved a tiny bit. Not much though. And then just the bustle which will be fairly simple. So all in all, it was good!
Oh, and I don't remember if I posted this or not. I called the salon that FSIL used and it will only cost $38 to get my hair and make-up done there. I liked that. So I put in to have mine and my MOH hair and make-up done there. Steve is going to talk to his cousin later this week and let her know about the hair and that her son can't come to the wedding.

Shawna, here is the funny part. She tried to tell me that I should switch from the florist I went with to the garden center and they would do my arrangements for me. I told her I would rather just stick with the place I already booked. After seeing her flowers and how long they didn't last, I'm glad I didn't switch!

Ya know, you just made me think of something, that I didn't realize before, Jenn. Volleyball is starting so at least 2 days a week I will be active. Normally while the kids run and do their warm-up drills, I just sit and go over paper work and stuff. I think this year I am going to run with them. Gives me my work out. Unfortunaly, my work schdule won't allow me to go to the practices on Wed and Thurs but the work out on Monday and Tuesday should help with my weight!!
I looked into taking Yoga. They offer classes here in town for a really nice preice. But, again, the classes are while I work, so I have to keep looking.
Maybe if I just found another job I could do more of these things! LOL

Ok, We are slowly working on music for the reception.
So far we have the Father/Daughter Dance-I Lover Her First by Heartland

Now, I love the song Me and My Gang by Rascal Flatts. Do you think that would be an ok song to use as the bridal party was being introduced??
Thanks!

Well, since I have most of the weekend to myself, I've given myself a list to do. First off is my Fall cleaning. The entire house will be a really good cleaning, then gather the stuff that we need to get rid of in the next twon clean up in about 2 weeks.
We went to Walmart and picked up a bunch of paint samples. I need to decide what colors I want to go with so I can start on the painting. We have a lot we want to get done to the house before the rehearsal dinner is held here.
I'm in a list mood, so I am going to work on the list of pictures we want the photographer to get. I'll post them on here once I have it done so ya'll can tell me if I'm missing anything important.
Next, to continue with the music for the reception. I'm still undecided if I"m going to use Me and My Gang for the enterance song or not. But I need to come up with the first dance (we don't have a song, so this is tough) a cake cutting, garter/bouquet songs, and mother/son song. We aren't going to do a bridal party dance.
I also need to sit down and listen to the ceremony music cd and write down the music. When my sister burned it, she didn't print off what order the songs were in, so I need to do that myself. That should be fun...lol.
Monday I should get the rest of the stuff I charms I need to finish the last few favors and then I can decorate the cake cutting set and the toasting flutes.
And I think that's it for now.

Since we are nearing the end of the month, I need to figure out what I have to quick finishe up yet!

*Gifts for bridal party and parents-
FIL's gift has been decided, not purchased
My parents-still no clue!
BMs-all decided and most bought. I just need to get the necklaces for 3 of the girls and a bag for my sister
GM-He is clueless, as usual. GRRR
RB-decided on, just not bought. We are going to do a savings bond and a toy or movie. We are just waiting to see what he is into closer to the wedding.
*Dress alterations-All I need is 2 buttons moved slightly in the back, and the bustle. I am calling about this as soon as I get the ladie's phone number from FMIL
*Decide on reception music-hahah, funny.
*Get ribbon for the favors-all the favors are done but 5, and they will be finished tomorrow.
*Meet with Pastor to go over the ceremony plans-OOPS. I will get Steve to call the pastor Tuesday. I completely forgot about this one!
*Arrange rehersal/rehersal dinner-Done, I'm working on the invites now, and they we just have to get the food later.
*Write shower Thank-You's-Done
*Burn all the wedding music to one CD-Done, and I wrote out the order last night. I am rethinking the CD for Canon in D, which I'm walking down the aisle to. I may have Steve's aunt play it, she already offered to if I wanted.
*Possibly start putting together the centerpieces-All the reception decorations, centerpieces, etc, are done. I just have to do the place cards next month

Very pretty, Nicole. I like the fall additions as borders at the edges of the paper. Very nice and simply elegant.

All the rehearal invites are printed up, I just have to pick up envelopes for them. They are too small for the left over invitation envelopes and too big for the rsvp evelopes. Go figure.
I got the charms I was waiting on today and finished the favors (yay!) I tried to do the toasting flutes and serving set, but I just can't figure out a way to decorate them that I like.
I started on the table numbers today, too. Here is what I plan on doing so far. We have left over backing paper from the invites. So we are folding the brown in half so it sits nice. Then I drew two leaf stencils. I will then do one of two things. Either cut out a leaf in the gold and one in the red, paste them on the brown and use black paper to cut out a number. OR I'll just put one leaf on each card and use the opposite color to make the number. I'll have to see what Steve thinks tonight, then I'll work on cutting out my shapes at work this week.

Steve is so sweet. He always tuckes me in before he leaves to go home at night. Last night told me that a week from Thursday we will be at our one month mark, and he can't wait. First off, WOW, we are getting close. Second, I just think it's so sweet that he is keeping such close tabs on how much longer we have. He's paying more attention to that then I am! (Although I think he is just looking forward getting his picture with Mickey in Disney...lol)

Not too much happening on the wedding front for this weekend. I keep forgetting to take the table numbers to work on at work. Today would have been a perfect day because it was so SLOW! I would have had Steve drop them off, but he had to sleep cause he worked nights last night and again tonight.
We are getting the left over hurrican here. Lucky us. I guess they were expecting it to shift, and it didn't, so we may end up with more flooding in town. Wonderful. We still have a lot of cleaning up to do from the last one!!:urgh: :rain: And of course I work tomorrow and the one guys is already talking about calling off. SO I'll be mandated to work late. GRRR. I hate flooding, we get way too busy and no one wants to come work then.
This weekend is the county fair. Jason Aldean is going to be in concert so we are going to hear him Sunday, if the grounds aren't flooded.
We are hoping to get the old wallpaper off the walls in the kitchen this weekend too and buy the paint for it. Maybe monday we will start painting. There is so much to do to get the house ready for the rehearsal dinner. Only 35 more days till that.
Steve asked how much long we had tonight when he called. I told him 36 days and he was like WOW, when you put it in days like that instead of months and weeks, it's right there. He is so excited, I love it! We both can't wait, but keep thinking that we won't get everything done that we want to. Glad my dad is coming up a few days before hand to help finishe painting and help with any other things we might need him for.

Sorry to hear about the flooding Nikki!!! I hope that everything works out for you and you get to go to your concert. It is exciting that you are starting to get things ready for the rehearsal dinner, huh!!! I have to start working on my table numbers and my seating chart, cause I only have 13 days!!!

ikkin510

Well, no flooding. Thankfully most of ths storm missed us. Just got back from the concert and it was AWESOME! We might go see Trace Atkins at the end of the month too. Steve is gunna see if he can get us some tickets. YAY!!
I got all the leafs cut out for the table numbers, now to put all the pieces together. I'll work on that this week. Picking up the marraige license tomorrow. AND tonight we figured out our first dance song. We are going out use My Valentine. We heard it and Steve thought it would be perfect seeing our first date was on Valentine's day. ANother thing done!! woohoo!

I'm doing good so far today. We got our first check in the mail as a wedding present, so I wrote a thank you out for that real quick and dropped it by the post office. Went to the courthouse and picked up the marriage license, called the lady about doing the bustle on my dress and went there. That should be done in a week. This afternoon I'm going to do a rough draft of the programs for the wedding and work on the table numbers.
Then there is the kitchen. It was the room we figured we'd work on first because of tearing down the wall paper. Well, there are 5 layers of wallpaper on the wall! We have to spakle (sp?) the walls now. Steve decided he wants new floors too. More work. Here is the plan. Bead board around the bottom of the walls and light green paint on the top. Peel-n-stick tile for the floor and then we just have to pick a back splash for under the cabinets. FUN FUN, and way more work then I wanted. I don't think we will get the bathroom re-done or the living room painted before the rehearsal now. I knew we should have started earlier. O well.

One month....30 days....AHHHH!!!!

ikkin510
09-08-2006, 04:57 PM
I'm a little disappointed, I hoped my ticker would go to days, not weeks. O well.
Steve had his first wedding nightmare last night. It was cute. When he stopped by this afternoon to check up on me, he told me about it. He's all worried about the stuff in the dream actually happening...LOL
I have a pretty bad sinus infection right now and it's kicking my butt! I took the day off work and have been lying around all day. I still feel horrible. I was hoping to get the kitchen just about finished this weekend and maybe the stairwell painted, but I don't know how far I'll get if I'm still feeling this blah.
I need to re-think my table numbers. I like the leaves I drew for them, but no matter what way I try to add a number to it, it looks almost.....kid-ish to me. Steve doesn't like the one way I thought looked ok, so I'm still thinking...

ikkin510
09-08-2006, 07:33 PM
Ok, here is what I have for ideas for table numbers. Maybe you can help me decide. We are using the left over backing paper for the invites. Folding the brown paper in half. Then I cut out 2 different leaves in gold and red. I love the way the leaves turned out but can't figure out how to put the numbers on. Let me know what you think.
Option 1: I like this one, but when you put a number in front of the smaller leaf, the leaf is hidden.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a388/ikkin510/100_0608.jpg
Option 2: This works, but for some reason, it reminds me of something you'd see in a childrens book, 4 leaves, 3 apples, 2 bananas, etc. Ya know what I mean? Or am I the only one who thinks that.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a388/ikkin510/100_0609.jpg
Option 3: Here are both of the leaves on one page. I could print out numbers in black and put it on top of both of them. Steve didn't really like the idea of both leaves on one card. Said it looked too busy.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a388/ikkin510/100_0610.jpg

As you can tell, I'm not having a very fancy reception, so I want something layed back and easy. Let me know what you think and if you have any other ideas. THANKS LADIES!!

I agree that the 2nd one seems like it would come out of a child's book or flashcard set, but I really like the 3rd one with the 2 leaves. Also, have you thought about maybe just making the leaves bigger and printing them on some cardstock and then glueing the numbers on top. You could then put them in the little stand thingy's like they use for place cards.

Well, besides the 4 hours from 2pm-6pm when Steve is here, I've got the weekend to myself. So instead of going out like a normal person, I've decided to give myself a huge list of things to do while I'm home. Most of the list I probably won't accomplish since I'll be unmotivated or Karen will post pictures from the wedding and I'll be here looking that them...lol.
Here are my big plans.
Today I spackled the entire kitchen. Tomorrow I want to sand it, wipe down the walls and paint the first coat of paint.
Paint the stair well and touch up the trip around the new windows.
Type up the rooster for volleyball so Fh can hand it in Monday.
Fix the table numbers, and make that decision
Clean the house....it's definatly doesn't look very nice at the moment.
Get the rehearsal invites addressed and in the mail Monday.
Paint the second coat of paint in the kitchen Monday.

Yeah, this will take me a while. I know there is still more to add to the list, I just don't remember what at the moment.

BP gifts should be at my house this week. Well most of them. There is a just few odds and end that FH wants to get for the groomsmen yet from the dollar store. Joke gifts to go with the real ones. He ordered them really nice glass mugs with their favorite college football team logos on them, I just need to order the bag for my sister, then the BMs are done. Then pick up the RB's gift and figure out what to get my parents.

LOL, I have no clue yet. I'll let you know how I work it though...lol. Part of it is no sleep and doing 3 things at one.
I just finished the volleyball list. Well, 2 of 3. The 3rd I'll have to do at practice Monday when the kids are there to get extra info. Schools require way too much paper work from the coaches!! Shesh.

Next week we can start on our seating chart and place cards. Still haven't made the definate decision on the table numbers. 19 days to go. I feel like I just finished reminding Angel that she was at the 19 day mark. Now I'm there. I just watched her slide show. WOW, If my pictures come out half as beautiful I will be thrilled.
Today was the RSVP deadline. Only 16 people to hunt down. Not too bad! By the weekend I should be able to do the seating chart. Then to start writing out the place cards. I need to go over my list again to see what else there is besides work on the house. The kitchen still isn't finished. ARG! We have all the stuff though so I hope to have it done by the end of the week.

I just can't believe we are getting so close. Honestly, it still doesn't seem real. I don't think it will until my MOH comes in the Wednesday before. I'm a little stressed because of how slow the kitchen is going, but otherwise, no worries.
Now to check on my lists of things to get done.....

Today we got all the BP gifts except for the RB. I'll do that this weekend when I go to get the rings cleaned (have to every 6 months for the warrentee.) I just have to get some wrapping paper and that's all set. Oh and Steve has to get his parent's gift.

I'm not having a good night. I'm stressed and overwelmed. I got the first coat of paint up in the kitchen and we started the bead board. Yeah, the floors are unlevel so this is going to take even longer then we though. I just feel like we're never going to get it done. I have time to work on it, but I'm not that good with the saws and such to do any of it. There is so much to be done, that I can't do. So I feel bad just sitting here.
Now, Steve's one wisdom tooth is coming in and causing a lot of pain. He hasn't got his dental insurance yet, won't till January. No clue were we are suppose to get getting the money for that. We are already tight on bills right now. Things got really bad at my job last week. To the point were I almost just up and walked out. I can't afford to do that, but I can't stay there either. I don't sleep the nights I have to go to work the next day because I'm too stressed just thinking about having to go. The job market isn't that great around here, so that isn't helping me any. I'm not sure what to do right now.
Too much on my mind right now....all I can do is sit here and cry because of being overwehlmed and stressed. *sigh*

Nikki,
I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. Is there anyway you can hold off on finishing the kitchen until AFTER the wedding, so you have less to worry about? Wish there were some way I could help you.

Thanks so much hon, your so sweet. Unfortunately, we are having the rehearsal dinner at the house ( I wanted the church, and lost). So, we have to get it done. 18 days till the wedding, 17 until the rehearsal. Thankfully, my dad is coming up the monday and tuesday before the wedding to help finish with anything we don't have done in the kitchen, paint the stairwell (it needs it bad!) and we wanted to paint the bedroom. Doesn't look like that will get done now, and it was what I was looking forward to the most! A new room for when we are married and living together.
I just checked the paint and it's still a little wet in the kitchen. So no second coat tonight. ARG. I don't even have any wedding stuff to work on since I need Steve's help to do the seating chart. But, of course, he is working nights tonight and tomorrow.

13 days. Yeah, doesn't seem like it yet. Although I am still really stressed about getting the kitchen done. I flipped yesterday when I dumped paint down a cabinet. Yeah, something else to re-paint.
Tomorrow I'm going to the mall to pick up the last gift and wrapping paper. I'll also get my rings cleaned. I'll probably print out the programs today. We are going to work on the seating chart one day this week. It shouldn't be too hard. Then I just have to figure out how to put the names on the place cards, cause I don't have the best handwriting.
Otherwise, I'm pretty much done with everything, I think. I'll be busy 3 days before since I'll have to get the house cleaned, set up the hall, and get the food for the rehearsal dinner. Otherwise, I'll have a pretty easy 2 weeks. I'm so ready to get married, I just need to get it into my head that it will be here in 13 days.

Thanks for the reminder Angel!

Well today I went to pay for the cake, forgot the bakery was closed on Mondays....oops. Guess I'll go goign tomorrow. I picked up my dress, it's done and the lady pressed if for me, so it's just hanging in the back of the closet waiting. I bought the last of the gifts I needed and just need to wrap everything now. Seating chart is DONE! Now to do the place cards. Got my rings cleaned and inspected per the warrentee. I think tomorrow when we got to the bakery I'll stop in the party store and pick up some fall plates and napkins for the rehearsal dinner.

I started with the jitters today. When I hung my dress up in the closet I though, less then two weeks. This time next week my dad will be here finishing the kitchen. I'm so excited, but I'm freaked out too. I HATE being the center of attention. I don't want people staring at me all day! I want to get married but I'm really nervous about the day revolving around me so to say. Any advise? Thanks!

Nikki, you are going to be sooooooo busy and pulled in soooo many directions that day that you are not even going to have time to feel self-conscious. Also, when you get up to the alter you are going to look into Steve's eyes and you are not even going to notice that anyone else is in the room. Just remember that you are there to marry Steve and focus on Steve and then after that all you have to do is get through a big party...lol. Everything will be great hun, and you will be just fine!!!!

The official final head count is in. 115 people coming. Not back. Although I bought enough favors for 144! More for me I guess!
We finished the seating chart yesterday, Today I will work on the place cards. I'll most likely wrap the gifts too.
Here is what I can think of that's left:
Drop off photo list
Pay off flowers (next week)
Pay off Dj (day of)
Pay off Food (when we get back from honeymoon)
pick up food for rehearsal
Finish the house
Clean.

Not bad for 9 days to go!

Well, I am not working on the place cards since I realized I forgot to put two people on the seating chart AND my mom called me to say that my brother may not be bringing a date. So it's all on hold now till I get the definate on my brother.
Steve stopped by and payed off the florist and checked on everything there. I am goign to start wrapping stuff tonight. but I probably won't get to finish till later this weekend.
We have tickets to go to a hockey game saturday night. That will be nice to get away for the night. Then Sunday night Steve is goign out with the guys. Which is great, except for the fact that we have gotten nothing done on the house this week and need to get a lot done this weekend PLUS, start packing, PLUS start moving his stuff into my house.
But otherwise, everythign is mostly peachy!

ARG! My mom was suppose to call me last night about my brother and whether he was bringing a date so I couldn't finish the seating chart and do the place cards today. She didn't. So I e-mailed her before I went to bed. I woke up to a reply that she would let me know by Wednesday. Ahh, no, I need to know now. SO I told her that and she e-mailed me back saying she'd talk to him this morning. Never heard back from her. So Steve called her today. She hasn't seen my brother yet. Ok, so call his cell phone. She doesn't want to bother him and doesn't understand why we are in such a hurry to get the chart done. Maybe because my wedding is in 8 days and I have people coming in starting Monday. So I want to get it done and out of the way. I would call my brother myself, except he doesn't talk to me. No one knows why. He prefers to ignore me. If it were up to me, he wouldn't have been allowed to bring a date to begin with, since we only let people who have been seeing someone for a while bring a date. Yes well, so my mom is out to get me mad.
Then I get home from work and check the mail, Steve's present finally came. YAY! Well, not exactly. They screwed it up. Let me expain the whole thing.
I ordered it, they guarrenteed me it would be here by the 21st. 3 days later they call back and say I won't get it until November cause it's out of stock. Well I can't wait till then. SO they were nice enought to let me switch the style of the item ( I got a more expensive one of the same price as the first one.) I didn't like it as much, but it was still really nice. They said I'd still have it by the 21st. The next day they call and say it will be a little long, but I"ll have it by the end of the month. I"m annoyed now, but ok. So I get it today and they put the item together wrong! So I call the lady and she say "o maybe he won't notice." Well, it was the first thing I saw when I took it out of the box! So I'm suppose to send it back after the honeymoon and she will fix it. She will also be paying for all the shipping. I"m just so annoyed right now.
Not to mention I had a horrible day at work and wanted to flip out at my partner and my bosses. Boy am I glad that after tomorrow I have 17 days off. I need it.

LOL, Thanke Elizabeth! I looked at Steve today around 2pm and asked if he realized that at this time next week we'd be taking our pictures as a married couple! It's exciting, but I'm nervous about it too.
Today was my last day at work, YAY! When I got home I got all the programs printed and folded. I talked to my brother and got the seating chart and all the place cards done. The only thing left really (besides stopping by the photographer) is finishing up the house and working on getting Steve moved in.
WOW, 1 week. There were days when I never thought this time would come. Now it's here and it's so surreal! WOOHOO!!! (I'm kinda excited, can ya tell?)
I think tomorrow I'm going to start making my honeymoon packing list so I can run to the store and get anything we may need. I'm going to try to check in here as much as often, but I don't know how much free time I'll get after Wednesday.

The cabinets are done in the kitchen. Steve and my dad figure the kitchen will be completely finished tomorrow night!! YAY!!!
My mom called me today to tell me that bought our wedding present. They bought us a bedroom set!! That is so awesome since we have been looking at dressers since Steve needs one. I'm se excited. My dad is actually going to bring it up with him tomorrow.
I went out to dinner with FMIL tonight since Steve is out on his bacholer party adventure. Neither of us knew what the guys had in store, but his dad is going so we know it's nothing bad (which is good. Steve refuses to go to strip clubs or anythign like that.) So I'm excited for him to get back and tell me about it. Anyway, FMIL and I were talking about the wedding and she was shocked at how calm I was and how I don't have much to do.
Steve's cousin cut his hair today and it looks horrible! Thankfully his hair grows really fast and by Saturday it should look a little better. He was so upset when he looked in the mirror after she left! I'm fine with it. Hopefully that's the worst that happens. Just another reason why I'm glad I'm not having her do my hair saturday!

The kitchen is done excpect for putting the molding back on at the floor. I'll have to finish that today. I'm so glad. Unfortunatly, I have a ton more then I thought I would have to do today. I have to run next door to the firehouse to get the shopvac to clean all the saw dust of the porch, put everything back in the kitchen, clean the whole house, pack for the honeymoon, put the bedroom back together (finally got it painted) and go grocery shopping. Plus Steve originally said he didn't need me to help with volleyball this week, but last night says that no one else can help so I have to spend 3 hours at the school. This wouldn't be so bad if I had tomorrow to finish stuff up in, but I want to get it done before I pick up my MOH at the airport tonight so that we don't have to do it all while she is here and not be able to spend much time together.
The pastor e-mailed me today. I wrote the ceremoy up a few months ago and he read it over and said it was great. Well TODAY he e-mailed me back and decided to change a paragraph because it wasn't the traditional words. (He said we didn't have to stick with the traditional stuff). Of course, this is the paragraph that took me 2 days to word right, and the one thing I didn't want changed. So, now I have to find time to call him and explain to him that I don't want that and want it changed back and who knows how receptive to that he'll be. GRRR. O, and Steve works all day today and managed to fill all day tomorrow up with who knows what, so he has no time to help get any of this done. ARG!

Well, I got the bedroom and spare room cleaned, the office is straightened a bit, but that is where we are keeping all the decorations and wedding stuff. I'll finish that room quick Friday. Got the molding up in the kitchen and cleaned that. Now to finish loading stuff in the kitchen, clean the living room and dining. Then the bathrooms. Then of course volleyball practice and grocery shopping. Steve decided in the hour we have before going to pick up Taren tonight, he'll get the shopvac and do the porch.
3 days. It doesn't feel that close.

2 days to go. My MOH is now here. She's still sleeping, lazy bum! I'm starting to get really excited. Seeing her get off the plane, it all just hit me. My wedding is real! I knew before it was here, but I couldn't visualize myself on the actual day.
Last night the groomsmen and the RB went to pick up the tuxes. 2 of them needed slight alterations. Steve is going for his today. If the 2 that needed to be fixed are done, he'll pick them up. If not, one of the GM works right next door so he'll pick them up after word.
On the agenda for today, lunch with old friends from high school. My MoH and I went to school with the guy and Steve went to school with his new wife. Kinda funny, expecially since we are from different parts of the state. Then we have to run to the store to pick up last minute stuff for the wedding and honeymoon. Take MOH for a tour of the town. My sister comes in tonight. YAY!!!

I'm getting married Tomorrow!!!!!! I am getting the jitters just thinking about it. Steve will be here in about 20 minutes. Then we are running to the grocery store to pick up the food for the rehearsal and the cheese and crackers for before the reception. Then back to the house to get My MOH and my sister and over the the firehall to drop off the food (they offered to arrange everything nice for us) and to set up. I'll take pictures and I'll try to get the posted tomorrow night. Then we will swing by the church to do some quick setting up there. By then it's lunch and my parents and my auny and her family will be here.
Last night we get all the packing done for the honeymoon. Just need to throw some last minute items in the bag tomorrow morning.
Also today we have to finish cleaning and setting up the house for the rehearsal dinner.
All the guys have all the parts for their tux, except Steve. He doesn't have his tie yet. The store ordered the wrong one. So his brother offered to run the 25 minutes to the store to pick it up for him. He is such a sweetheart!

I'm so mad! I told my 19 year old sister not to touch the cake topper, it's breakable. Yeah, she decided to play with it. I was upstairs. I hear my mom tell her to put it down. Then everyone gets quiet. I went downstairs and I knew something was wrong. I asked what she was doing, she ignored me. I saw the topper had been touched. I asked if she broke it and she said no. But my MOH had a weird look on her face. SO I asked again. She said maybe. Yeah, she broke an arm off the bride. She starts laughing cause she thinks it's funny. I yelled at her and she tells me I need to stop going all bridezilla, it's just a cake topper. Excuse me, this is a $200 cake topper that we splurged on cause we loved it and wanted to display it. She is still downstairs laughing. Meanwhile, my dad ran to the store to buy some crazy glue to try to glue the arm back one.
Am I wrong to be so mad at her? I told her not to touch it. Then she out right lies to me about it and then finds it all funny. Steve won't even look at her. GRRR. I hope my dad can fix it. My sister better hope he can fix it.

Nikki, you TOTALLY have a right to be upset, I would be!!! That is terrible, and then to laugh at it. Hey, when she gets married, play a trick on her, and make her think you broke hers!! Show her how it feels!!!!

Anyway, good luck tomorrow, and congrats. I can't wait to see your pics girly girl!!!

I love e-bay! I found my veil on there. Even if I don't win the bid, I can do the by it now option for only $19.99. That would be cheaper then if I attempted to make it myself. And it matches my dress perfectly, ivory with champagne trim. Here's the link.

And this is the Tiara I like. I wanted something thin that was gold with diamonds. I figure it will give a little bit of a sparkle to the look and it should look nice with the dress.

I agree. I got sooo many good deals off of e-bay. (Our unity candle like 30.00 for the stands, candle, and tapers), my bout's for like 1.99 each,
Joe's ring (don't tell him $20.99 for authentic titanium!!) I know awesome deals!!!!!

Nikki, you definitely have a right to be upset, especially given her age! She's acting like a 2 year old, not a 19year old!! I hope your dad was able to fix it! Have a GREAT day tomorrow, enjoy every minute, and get back soon to share it all with us!!!

Nikki,
I'm sorry about the topper. Even if your dad can fix it, I think she should buy you a brand new one (if you want one) - or at least reimburse you.
Hopefully that is the only "bad" thing that will happen. Oh and congrats!!

Well ladies, In 14 hours I will be arriving at the church to get married! I'm so excited. My dad was able to fix the topper, although the arm, where is was glued, has a slight yellow tint to it. Hopefully no one looks to close. I had to go for a walk to cool off after I typed the message. Steve went with me. When I got home, my sister had closed herself in the laundry room and was crying. She felt so bad and didn't know what to do. I told her I was upset, but I love her. We sat and talked for a bit and she wants to do something special for us to make it up to us.
The rehearsal went GREAT. We had a ball. Neither of our parents cried, which shocked us both. Dinner went really well too. Everything is decorated, looking great, the guys washed the fire truck for us after dinner. They made a just married sign to hang off the back too. LOL.
So tomorrow morning, at 10 am is the hair appointment. The all the girls are meeting here to get ready at noon. Leave for the church at about twenty of or quarter off (only a 10 minute drive.) At a little after 1 I walk down the aisle to marry Steve. Then we party, come back to the house to finish packing the last minute stuff and we should be at the hotel by 10, 11 at the latest.
I promise to post pictures as soon as we get back. That won't be till late Saturday night. So you may have to wait till Sunday. The photographer said the proofs will be done in 2-3 weeks! YAY
Anyhoot, I"m off to TRY to get some sleep. I'm getting married tomorrow and I can't wait!!!!

Now to fill you in more about the big day. Well the night before was the rehearsal. All went smoothly and we had a blast. Then back to the house for dinner. We found out there was something wrong with our furnace. Steve turned it on for the first time and something didn't seem right. So he ran next door to the fire house and got a Carbon Monoxcide detector. Yeah, we ended up having to turn off the furnace and air out the basement.
I had a hard time sleeping that night. My sister wanted to talk....and talk...and talk. (she was bunking with me) But I finally got about 5 hours. When I got up the firehouse already had someone at the house to fix the funrance. My MOH and I went to get our hair done (they did our make-up for FREE!) Then back to the house to get ready. We were dressed in 15 minutes and then just waiting patiently to leave. Got to the church and everything went perfectly. Steve got all teary when I came down the aisle. I think time just froze for me. I don't remember most of what the pastor said in the begining. I couldn't believe how fast the ceremony flew by!
Then it was picture time and then the whole bridal party loaded on the firetruck and we drove through town blowing the siren. The reception was great. Good food and lots of fun. Steve and I hung back for a few minutes just to soak it all in. The day was just so perfect, I wish you all could have been there!
