I'm posting this here because it seems so relevant...

I have a friend that is in my wedding planning and management class at school. We became friends because we were date twins.

Yesterday morning she got a call from her fiance that he was not coming home until November at the earliest. Their wedding was supposed to take place in October and he was supposed to be home in July. So my heart goes out to her because now she's scrambling to try and get her vendors cancelled or moved to another date. This is very stressful I'm sure and since the venue she picked was based off what its like in the fall, I'm sure its devastating.

During class he called her again and said that he was injured in a roadside bomb but didnt know the extent of his injuries yet and didnt want to worry her about something that might not be. The bright side of that is that he was able to actually talk to her.

So I know as you are all brides and wives or fiance's, you can sympathize with this. I dont know what to say to her right now except to try and stay positive. I know that the wedding part isnt as bad when you think about the injuries he might have sustained.

I just think that her situation needs a lot of prayers right now.

Thanks Ladies

Prayers sent sorry to hear about it! Hopefully it is something minor and they let him come home early.

I will be praying for them. Maybe the injuries won't be bad, but yet they will still let him come home for it?

I will keep them in my prayers too.

That is what I was thinking, maybe he will be let out early because of his injury.

Just be there for her, listen and try to keep a positive perspective. I am sure they both knew the risks and possibilities involved in military work. But it is still rough.

I hope she gets things taken care of with her vendors. I would think most vendors would be willing to work with her in a case like this.

I'm sorry that all of this is going on. What a stressful situation all the way around.

Prayers and well wishes to her and her fiance. May he return home safely and may God bless all of our troops.

I thought about the injury thing too. Sometimes a person gets injured but its not soo bad that they cant function but still too bad that he cant be in combat. She's hoping for that and doesnt want to postpone until she hears more from him today.

I will certainly pass on the messages. You ladies are truely wonderful people!
