SOOO, here goes my after wedding journal holy cow!!! I am going to write my wedding day story in here as well because... I CAN!!!

So friday started the craziness of the wedding day. I woke up around 6:00 am thinking HOLY **** I am getting married. So we woke up, and I had to shave Nicks head for the day, we had to get the dogs together and get them to daycare and to my moms. I was really weepy because I hated to leave my puppies. But around 7:00 am we left the house I had SOO much stuff and we had to make a few trips back and forth. But we went to my moms and dropped off Dedos, I was crying of course and then we went to meet my brothers fiance for breakfast, she was going to feed me before the festivites begin. Nick went to drop off Taebo and I had a lovely breakfast with Jenny, we laughed i talked a mile a minute because I was so nervous and she gave me a box of condoms and sex toys and told me to have fun tomrrow night (Saturday) hahaha she is soo funny. So after breakfast we went to get some fruit for Saturday morning and then we were off to the nail salon to meet my mom, Holly and Melaney to get our toes and nails done.
We had SUCH A GOOD TIME there, we got our nails done, we sat around and laughed and some really creepy guy put my socks back on me. Which was really odd.

After the nail salon we went to get changed and headed up to Nicks parents house for our rehearsal Lunch. She did such an amazing job!!! She had so much food, a chocolate fountain, cake, a water fountain a parlor with drinks it was AWESOME!! So we shoved our faces for about 4 hours there and talked and I saw my dad for the first time in a year and got really teary eyed about that. It was so much fun just to know that the day was FINALLY here after waiting for so long for it, I looked around and said to myself this is my and Nicks day and we have been waiting for a year to get here and here we are. We had sooo much fun at his parents house. Nicks best man in the green shirt said a nice speech and we were really having a great day!!

then it was off to pratice. The room looked AMAZING and we were just so excited. We arrived about 20 minutes early, so we chatted with the wedding coordinator and waited for my mom to get there. My brother started getting impatient so we were going to get started. My dad and I had no idea where we were supposed to meet people so as you can see in the pictures we are actually running to find where we are supposed to go. But everything went like clock work, we decided to do an outdoor wedding reguardless of the weather, we thought the indoor wedding would be cheesy, so we sucked it up and praticed outdoors, everything went like clockwork!!!

After the rehearsal I said goodbye to nick and we were both really teary. But we said goodbye and I went out with the girls for dinner. I was thinking in the back of my head, this is the last time I am going out as a none married women, it really is just unreal and I get teary eyed just thinking about it.

Here is the big day! I woke up at 4:45 really calm, Actually i was really calm the whole day!!! We went and got my bridesmaids and their stuff and arrived at Hampton Inn exactly at 7:00 am, the hairdresser was there so she got started on getting us all dolled up (Pictures later) We were hanging out, drinking mimosas and having some breakfast watching TV and hanging out. I kept asking what time it was, but after awhile I stopped looking at the clock. Before I knew it my mom said it was 10:30 and we had HALF AN HOUR before we had to be ready. YELPS! I was calm though and just sat there for awhile taking it all in.

Before i knew it it was time to get in my dress and get ready. I was FREAKING OUT!!!! About this time. I remember going into the bathroom and saying to myself HOLY S H I T. So I got dressed, we got our flowers and we were waiting until the wedding coordinator came. We were just standing there. The girls had signed my shoe for goodluck, gave me a penny, I had my vows, I was dressed and ready. She knocked on the door, and we started to head to the elevator to line up.

We got down there and I saw my dad and he just lost it. He was just bawling his eyes out. We found our other flower girl and ring bearers and we were standing there waiting. I could tell it was freezing out, but it didn't matter. We went to the outside door heading out to the gazebo and my friend Holly goes THERE ARE SOO MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE! before I knew it the ceremony music was playing and we were off. It was gorgeous and it went SOOOOOO well!!!!

Soooo, now I am sick. :( My hairdresser had a sore throat and I kinda had an inkling that she may have strep throat and I think I may be right. So now I am SUPER busy at work and my throat is on fire. GRR. Oh well, I was fine at the wedding, I just hope i get better by our honeymoon. Because that would be horrible. But I am taking medicine and I hope to be better in a few days. hehehe

It was really really cold, but it was alright. By the end of pictures I think you can see my goose pimples hahaha. But it was great fun and we had a wonderful time just laughing and giggling. Everyone said to me that they loved hearing us just laugh through the whole ceremony because we were having a good time and we just looked so happy, which is so us. Just laughing our way through something and having a great time no matter what we are doing!!! :)

Now its on to my brothers wedding which is going to be a huge crazy wedding with no smiles or anything. They are already planning an August 5th shower and there are E-mails going around about invitations and about out of town guests staying somewhere FOR A SHOWER! I love jenny to death, she ismy most favorite person. But she has some really odd friends. hahaha

Work is really slow right now, just trying to find things to do. We are leaving for our honeymoon next weekend and I just cannot wait. We realyl need to head somewhere warm when we see the weather forcast calling for 5-8 inches of snow!! :petrified:

i had my previous rings sautered together. this set was a ring guard and didn't need it. i would recommend doing it. my rings done the same thing and i could never keep them sitting correctly.

I'm deciding on whether or not to do mine after the wedding. Someone told me that it decreases the value of the ring(s). Not sure if that's the truth, you'll have to let me know what you decide.

We are supposed to get 7 inches of snow today. GRR! But as Nick and I said, we are married we do not have to worry about the weather anymore, let it snow. :)
This weekend I am going down with my brothers fiance, her mother, her grandmother and her friend to see her wedding dress. I hope I feel better before that. I wasn't going to come to work today, but I knew in the back of my mind my other coworker wasn't going to come in since he just got back from vacation. And lo and behold the little crapper didn't come in, so we haev to bust butt today again to cover his butt so that he can stay home and sleep off his hangover. ARGH. What makes me really mad is he got the manager position and he pulls this ****. I wanted the job but he got it and here I am with a throat on fire and coughing and nothing.. ARGH! Oh well, I guess he will get his. My boss is sooo mad at him right now.

I hope so. Already my boss is considering asking him for a doctors note since we are all here nto feeling to hot and its really slow here today. SO we will see.
Going to get our couch TODAY finally. We were going to do it last night but got sucked into Lost (The tv show) So we said we will do it tonight. Nick is working late :( So I am going to head over there and order it myself. I can't wait to get it. Last night I was slumped in our ugly pink chairs trying to get comfortable and I just cannot wait to just slouch on a couch. hahaha:bbmrgreen:

how nice. i love shopping for furniture. we got rid of all our chairs except for the one rocker for when the grandkids are over and replaced the chairs with two couches. our living room is large and now we can both slouch on the couch. lol

When I am sick and it is snowing all i want is chicken noodle soup. maybe I will be a good wife and make some for NIck and I tonight. Or perhaps my famous STewup that I wrote about the other day. SOOO good on a cold snowy day. :) Just wish it was later then freakin 9:30am. When the days are slow it is just torture!
Next weekend is my birthday though and work always takes us out to lunch for birthdays. That will be nice! Even though it was just our wedding Nick is planning something super romantic and I can't wait. I love my husband. hehe

Nope, he didn' tell me anything. We have my goddaughters one year birthday on Saturday the 21st my B-day and then he said its just us for hte rest of the afternoon and night. So I have no idea what he is planning as we are leaving for our honeymoon the day after. He always thinks of something good. When we first met he got me sky diving and the year after that he got me some gorgeous diamond earrings. he spoils me. hahaha

OKay...I have so many comments!

1. You were glowing! Very pretty, your hair was perfect and I loved the daisy on your manicure!!!!

3. I LOVE your BM dress, why wouldn't I? They were almost exactly like mine! I think Black and White weddings with an alternating color are SHARP!

Can I just say I love being married? I thought I was going to get depressed now that the wedding was over, but I am feeling great (Well aside from the massive cold I have right now) But last night I made a great dinner of chicken Noodle soup, tonight we are going shopping for a new couch (FINALLY) and we are going to have dinner, then our honeymoon next weekend and apart from all the exciting part we are better then ever, LOVING being married and just being together and not having the stress of money, weddings etc. It is awesome! I know that it will be tough, and I do not feel to different, but just knowing I have someone who loves me forever and knowing that it can only get better. I am just loving it.
This weekend Nick has guards, I am going to go to the base and get my dependent ID which is PINK such a girly color, get my FIRST ID with his last name, and then while he is gone all weekend I am going with my brothers fiance to get her dress and look at bridesmaid dresses for her and then my mom and I are going honeymoon clothes shopping at the big mall they have there and i am getting my hair cut as well. I am super excited!!!!!!

haha i just called the hairdresser to make an appointment and I used my last name. The women pronounces the name perfect and it is a hard name to say since it is french canadian, and she goes are you so and so. I go yea that is my new last name I just got married, she is like OH MY GOD did you just marry Nick, I said yea. She goes I know his mother, she just said that Nick got married. It is SUCH A SMALL WORLD!!!

Bridesmaid dress shopping took oh about four hours. It was OK, and my brothers Fiances dress was very pretty. But ohhh the agony. Of taking pictures, trying on a bazillion dresses twice, ARGH.... but it is done and paid and now I have to wait until May and make the THREE HOUR drive back down there to get my dress. Well, Nick and I had our first HUGE fight as husband and wife. :( It is still going. I just don't know what to do and I need your ladies advice.
So Nick applied for a job as a State Trooper in Alaska awhile ago without telling me, and he sent it in thinking that they wouldn't call him back (STUPID!) so anyway, they did call back, he had a three hour phone interview ( I think I mentioned this) Well they called me to get an interview from me about Nick and I did it. Well they are going to ask him to go up for a week to get an interview and do some tests. Then after that if he gets the job he will be away for 5 months, then move up there without me for about 4 months. So basically we will be living alone for about 9 months. ARGH! So anyway, as you all know I am VERY close to my mother and I feel as though I need to take care of her. We are best friends, but at the same time she needs a lot of help. So I cannot phyiscally leave her right now. I wanted to start a family before leaving and help my mom as she gets older. I told Nick this and that he cna apply for the job in a few years. But he went and did it anyway. Since he applied and he is a good canidate for it, he would go to school and in the end miss my brothers wedding (Which he is a groomsmen) leave me alone for 9 months and make me move to Alasksa next year when I am not ready to do that. Am I wrong to ask him to take out his application? Am I wrong to tell him that he cannot go? Would you be mad to? What should I do?

I am just SOO torn and I hate being in this position and i got really mad last night because I told him I didn't want to be in this position right now with SOO much going on but he did it anyway. On the one hand I cnanot imagine busting Nicks dreams by telling him he can't go, but on the other hand I know my mom will just be SOOO lonely and hurt if we moved adn I can't imagine hurting her. What do I do???

First, your wedding turned out wonderfully. Everything was goregous. I couldn't even tell from the pictures (other than the lady in the background) that it was freezing outside. Congrats again Katy.

As for the situation with Nick. If that were Alex and I, I would let Alex go. We are both pretty supportive of where our jobs take us. If Alex's job transferred him out of state and I wouldn't be able to go for a year or something, then we would live apart for the year. We've lived apart while we were dating and while we were engaged and made it work. Its tough, but thats just something that we have always understood....that sometimes out jobs don't work together quite as well as we had hoped. Of course I don't have to take care of my mother or anything like that, so that has to be added into the whole equation. But if that same sitaution came down on us, Alex would probably move and I would move later.

I went to my moms today and I wrote about 30 thank you notes. I have about 30 left to write. I am exhausted. I hate writing Thank Yous they are sooo generic and I always feel so dorky writing them. But we got our disposable Camera pictures back and they are REALLY good I am soo glad we did it. WE got some really cute pictures and in THank you's I am sending some pictures of couples that took their pictures. I thought that they would want them and my photographer took a bunch of everyone, so I am sending them to them, I know I would want a good picture of Nick and I at a wedding, so hopefully they can enjoy them. :)
Then we went shopping and I got a Panini Press with a gift certificate I got for the wedding shower. My goddaugthers birthday is this saturday along with mine, so I got her a princess backpack and a book and a princess crown and shoes. She is soooo cute! She is my flowergirl in those pictures. The one with red hair. I can't wait to see her. Then the next day we leave for our HONEYMOOOONNNN!

sooo I just read about all that is happening with Nick! First off its strange because its weird that he applied even though you weren't so sure about it. I think that in a situation where it DRASTICALLY alters your signficant other's life it should be something that should be sat down and deeply talked about. I think that neither of you should say no you can't, or yes I can without sitting down and having a serious talk.

I personally would not agree to living apart for 9 months so close to getting married. Matthew and I have done tons of separation with him being a year older than I and leaving for college for 9 months and then me living somewhere else for the summer. I HATED every min. of it. He is my best friend and it was awful. You may be stronger than me though.

I see that it is his dream though, so maybe you guys can make it work out somehow so that it will all work out. Is it his dream because he wants to live in Alaska or what? Are their jobs that fit his dream description closer than across another country?

I think it will really just take time to sort through it. And it is a MAJOR decision, one that changes your lives and your families lives, so I think its something that should be decided by both of you and not just one of you, you know what I mean?

I hope it works out for the best for everyone!!!!

Yes Nick has always wanted to move to Alaska since he was younger and it was his dads dream to live there and he can't so now Nick feel she needs to carry on this dream. I knew he loved Alaska about two years into our relationship that he got really serious after our trip there. I love it there as well, but sometimes we have responsibilites here where I need to take care of my mom and such. So we shall see, he wants to be a wildlife police Officer which he really cannot do where we are since wildlife really isn;t that huge around here. In alaska it is a way of life.
I am jsut really worried about the seperation part. With nick in the military we are used to it, but it does not get any easier. it is a way of life with him in the military for him to be away for months on end, but this somehow seems differnet. I don't know......

Last night we got about six inches of snow and lost power for about 6 hours. UGH> I have go home after work today and SHOVEL in mid-April. I can't wait until we board that cruise ship. :)

i have to say with your situation that it's not fair!! i feel terrible that you're in that position right after getting married. on the one hand you want to be supportive in what nick does, esp since it's his dream job, etc. but you also have a mother to take care and it's not selfish that you want to be together now that you've gotten married! i 100% don't blame you for how you feel. I think nick should've discussed this with you even if he didn't think there was a remote chance it would happen.

since it's all been done already, i think you need to really be honest to yourself. would you be ok if he left and you joined him later? or would that make you very hurt/bitter, etc.

if i was in your position i think i would ask nick to turn it down for now and have it be a possibility in the future. i think a marriage is hard enough and since you just got married it's a really important time in your relationship. factor in your mother, and that's my opinion :)

of course, you could be waaay stronger than me and handle everything on your own but that's just my thoughts. i just think the time apart is easier a little later and right now things should be focuses on your relationship, etc.

thank you everyone on your response! It is hard. But last night I made a realy nice dinner and we sat down and talked. I have told him that i would move to seattle and my mom would move with us there. He said that he understood the position I am in with my mother and that it was not fair, he knew that my mom was like this when we got together and that he got a package deal. hahaha. So we decided to just hold off on the Alaska thing (I am still super guilty about it and feel terrible) But we are working through it. Nick is my best friend and I can talk to him about anything and we giggle like school girls telling a secret when we are together and sometimes people do not understand our relationship. But my mom does, and it is my job to take care of her and thank goodness i found a man who can understand that. So here we are just waiting to see what we are going to do. STay here for a few years and start a family. Or move around a bit before we start our family. I think we are going to move around and see what we can find. We are young, married and excited about what our life will bring us.
i know I will always feel guilty about his lost dream, but as I told him, we are married and every decision EITHER of us makes, impact the both of us and so we need to know that we have to talk it out before we act on something so major.
PHEW! So we are doing great and back to our old giggly self. :)

I know you have resolved it but may I comment on my two sense. I don't think it was fair of Nick to apply without talking to you about it first. Even though he figured inncently enough that he wouldn't get a call back on his application he really should have talked about it with you first. He wasn't dishonest with you, but he wasn't be open about something that could affect you as well. I had this dealing with Shawn and his job back in November. He wanted a job the would require him to spend a lot of time away from home January- March. Luckily, he talked to me about it first. But, if he would have taken the job without discussing it with me I would have been very upset and hurt about it. Yes, you guys need to support eachother's jobs and careers. But, when making a career move you need to discuss it first with your spouse. Yes, we all have dreams and goals we want to fullfill but everything goes in its own time. I'm glad he saw your position on this. I don't think you are holding him back and I also don't think you should feel guilty about it either. The two of you are a team and a good one at that and compromises need to be made with certain decisions. You'll come to a point where you may need to put something off for the better of your relationship too. It's all part of that thing called Love!!
I just wish the two of you a happy and wonderful honeymoon! Promise to bring some warm weather back with you too!!

I can, but it is just a hassle and Nick said he would get me a new ring on our one year anniversary. So cute. :) So I am just going to see what happens. Oh my...Honestly, I think they have more of a tendancy to flirt just to see how far a married man would go. For instance, shawn's old boss used to test the waters by making comments about his new hair cut, she would tell me oh he's such a sweety she's even told him how much of a "nice" guy he is. Tell him he looks good...Stuff like that. Thank GOD she no longer works for the company and has left! I couldn't stand her!! She was engaged too and I think she jsut did it to test Shawn.

Well two days before we leave.
last night Nick and I went out and got underwater cameras and found a really good deal on a memory card, so I think during lunch I am going to head out to Walmart and get another memory card for my camera, goodness knows I will need it. hahaha. But I am just SOO excited, nervous etc. about going away for a whole week. It don't remember the time when I left my home for a week. Never when we have had our own house to worry about. But my mom will go check on it every other day and make sure it is OK. The dogs will be well taken care of, the only thing is the bird, but I am sure he will be OK. Supposed to be nice weather so he will be just fine in the house alone. I am just one big worry wart. hahaha
But we aer SOO ready. Saturday we are going out for my Birthday dinner, then we are off to the airport. :)

Me and my FH went on a cruise 3 months after we got together (with my family)..and we have SO many one armed pics of us..LOL..they are great..they had these windows you could sit in..and we have like 20 pics of us just in those windows....you will have a BLAST! Congrats on your beautiful wedding too...its humorous how everyone is dressed like its 40 below out and you and all the girls are wearing strapless dresses...LOVE IT! :D Congrats again!

I haev SO much work. But I will tell you a bit and then post pictures during lunch.
we arrived on the boat around noon, it was HUGE 12 floors of an adults playground, there was a casino, shows, three pools, waterbars, etc. It was amazing. We set sail 4 in the afternoon on MOnday and we had a "fun day" at sea. It was awesome. I got sun and hung out explored the boat. We went to Grand Cayman where we swam with Sting Rays for awhile, scary but certaintly something I recommend. We set sail again and made it to Cozumel by 8:00am the next day were we SHOPPED for great stuff, snorkled and saw amazing fish and got more sun. Then we were off for Tampa. It was a WONDERFUL week and I can't wait to catch up with everyone at lunch today!

I loved swimming with the stingrays!!! That must have been soo awesome. I was wicked scared when Jon and I did that, but they truely are friendly! We actually got to feed them. A huge perk of being newlyweds :)

Yes, that is a sting ray that we are kissing. The guides said it was good luck. Notice the face I had. hahaha it was SOOO scary. They were really soft though and had really kind eyes. I think after this picture I jumped back on the boat. It was like a black cloud of sting rays all around us. It was insane, the water was WARM, but it was to much for me to be surronded by things that could sting you and suck your fingers in. hahaha

Yup, that is what killed the crocodile hunter. But the guide explained to us it was a different kind. But still it was super scary and I stayed in for about 5 minutes. haha they were soft, but they kept bumping my legs. It was crazy.. I got nice and brown and everyone at work is jealous. It was just amazing to spend tha tmuch time with my husband and get to see new things together. Now we are staying at my moms house as we get our furnace fixed, which is fine since we need to take care of her dog when she is gone anyway. So we got home, unpacked and packed again to head to her house. Just so busy!!!

Yestarday I was at a work training ALL day so I wasn't on. :( It was fun though and I got out of work early, so that was always a bonus! I changed my name on all documents I can think of for right now until I get my new SS card. HOpefully in a week or two I will get that. But I am offically a Mrs. B SCARY!
Tonight Nick and i are going to look at new wedding bands for me. My wedding band is cheap and is turning my engagement gold... it is white gold.. GRRRRR! So that is what we are going to do either tonight or tomrrow.
Nick is buying a motorcycle, I told him he could buy one and he is sooo surprised that I allowed him to. I guess I am just a good wife. So our deal was, he get a motorcycle I get a new wedding band. So there we go. It sucks though because i love my wedding badn. But I guess that is what you get for getting it off Ebay. :( Oh well, live and learn. We will see what happens.

My wedding band and E-ring turn yellow (They're white gold). The jeweler said it's the acidity of the persons skin and body chemistry. I jsut go ever six months to get it Re-Rhodiumed. IE re-plated and then it's white for another six months :)

I hate drill weekend I miss him so much. :( BUt it is just a weekend and usually I spend time with my mother, but she is gone, so i think I am going to head to my favorite Scrapbook store and look for things to scrapbook my honeymoon pictures with. That should kill saturday, then Sunday I need to clean the house and maybe scrapbook. So it should not be to day. Just hard when we have spent so much time together these past few weeks. Oh well, I will live.
Next week, we are finally going to get our couch!!! Then we aer going to buy a new fridge and Nick is getting his motorcycle this weekend, I need to bribe my coworker to go and get it for him. The life of a military wife is never over. At least I get my dependent ID this weekend!

well saturday Nick got his motorcycle, well no, I went and got his motorcycle for him. He is just so excited and when I see him with that excitment in his eyes and love for life, I am reminded of why I love him so much!!!
I am without my engagement ring for two weeks :( I never thought I would be so sad. But I cried, what a baby I know! But Nick got me this GORGEOUS wedding band to go with my engagement ring and he is getting it custom made and satured together and I am getting my ring replated. He also bought a warranty for three years where I can get my rings resized, replated and fixed with no cost. We just had to pay $76 for three years for that. I thought it was a great deal espically since every six months it will be turning yellow anyway. So for two weeks I am just wearing my wedding band. Its amazing how powerful I felt with my engagement ring and now, I feel not so powerful. I am silly i know, but does anyone feel just better looking at their rings? I know I did. Oh well, it will be worth it in the end. Even though Nick is gone for guards this weekend it has been a great weekend. Relaxing, weather is wonderful. Its good.

hahaha you are so funny, its not a big deal, Obviously you have more things to worry about then reading my journal, silly.
But yes, I laughed when I read about Mrs.F, my clients are getting into the habit of calling me Mrs.B (Nick has a LONG last name) so that is what I call Nicks mom, I always get creeped out. But it is really empowering to have the same last name and really something special that we will always share together. I will NEVER be Katy E. anymore. Which made me sad in a way, since that was my name for 23 years, but it is really just amazing to share that with your husband. :)

I'm already mentally preparing myself to be called Mrs. T. since that's what the kids I teach will call me (and I'll undoubtedly accumulate "Mrs. T." gifts over time). I'm excited to be Mrs. T. and share the name with my FH, but at the same time I'm sad also. I've been Stella C. for 23 years, and I get so many compliments on how well my first and last name go together (even FH tells me he likes how well it flows) and after we get married I'll have an ultra-common German last name (and I'm not German at all). I'm so used to having uncommon names so it'll be an adjustment. My first and middle names are my grandmother's first names on both sides of my family so they're rather old-fashioned (Stella Dorothy), and my last name is Italian. Other than my family I don't know anyone else with it. I'm actually contemplating making my maiden name a second middle name just because I love it. Plus, I was told by my college that teachers should make their maiden names their middle name after they marry so when they request files from the college for teaching, they know who they're looking for and it makes tracking easier.

I am horrible at change and I think that is why I am having such a hard time with it. With time, I know I will not even think about it and it will just be second nature to say Katy B. However right now it really is a struggle having to change my signature and such. At work I sign a MILLION documents in a week, therefore it is taken me twice as long to work as i have had to get used to my chunky last name. 11 letters long. hahaha. I am horrible i know.
Another work week, we are FINALLY going to get our couch IN our house tonight. WAHOO!
